Please join us on our rooftop patio, the Tavern Tree House!! It opens Monday through Saturday at 4pm. Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept reservations for our outdoor seating. Tavern At The Park offers several types of experiences in private dining, allowing you to cater your event exactly to your needs. In our Pub Room, up to ten guests can be entertained by watching the game or business presentation on the private, lap-top compatible 42” flat screen T.V., all while people watching the bar through bay windows. Our signature room, the Sky Box, offers the ability to have a sit-down dinner for 26 people or cocktails for 40 while enjoying the sights of Millennium Park and Michigan Avenue from your second story perch. Our Exposition Room offers a private setting for up to 36 for a sit-down dinner and up to 50 for cocktails. Lastly, the entire second floor, with it's breath-taking views of Millennium Park and Michigan Avenue, can accommodate 110 people for dining and up to 200 for a cocktail party. All private rooms offer the latest in technology for presentations while maintaining that classic Tavern style.

Our server was great! Very attentive, but not obnoxious. He said he was only on the job 3 weeks but he was excellent at serving and attending to our needs. Think we'd go back and ask for him to serve us again!

Food was ok however the experience was ruined by a pompous, rude and arrogant host who unfortunately happens to be one of the owners so complaints are worthless and his awful service permeates to the rest of the employees. Unfortunately the poor bus boys go out of their way to help but this not worth money or time. There are many restaurants in Chicago with excellent food and service so DO NOT waste your time and money here. Never coming back.

Food was decent. The tuna taco appetizer was excellent and the fish and chips entree was huge. Service started off good but once the appetizer came, we didn't see our waitress again until we were finished. (The entrees were served by another waiter.)

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. However, we had reservations and they seated us in the bar. It was very loud, making it difficult to hear our own conversation. I would have appreciated it if they had asked us upon reservation if we would prefer the dining area.

The service was poor but the waiter acknowledged it when he brought the check. We ordered a bottle of wine when dinner was served and it came when we were finished with our entrees so we turned it away. Food was excellent as always. The manager did offer us complimentary wine glasses for the situation which was nice but we were finished.

I was on a business lunch or would have said something. My chicken on my salad was sooooo dry. Hard to eat and for the cost it wasn't worth it for sure! We were in the lower level looks like the rooftop is where it's at....also service was awesome.

I guess that not every batter hits 1.000. I primarily frequent Tavern for business lunch meetings (and for that it is excellent), so with an open reservation slot on a Saturday night with my family, decided to take them there. It was an excellent night and was hoping to eat outside. I can say the amount of attention I get in shorts and a polo varies greatly when I have a business suit on. We were about 10 minutes early for the reservation. Seeing an open table outside and with no one waiting at the host stand, the host rather smarmily told me that it would be a 20 minute additional wait. No here is a great pet peeve for me (as some previous reviews would hint at). If I have a reservation and can see multiple open tables available, there should be no wait. Multiple open tables existed on the window as well as the table outside. A 4-5 star review would include the instance where the host sensing I wanted outside or at least a view, would open it up. Well, that didn't happen. And BTW, when I say family, my "kids" are 18, 16, and 14, not rug rats. So shuffled to our table, I kept track of the table outside, and yep, it was never filled. Any restaurant can have a bad day and service this evening was relatively inattentive and slow. When the food came, it was as good as always, but had to ask for bread, waited a bit long for drinks, etc. Waiter was very nice, which saves it from being less than "Fair." Note to all restaurants, if your visit results in nicknaming the host "Johnny D-Bag," that's awfully hard to recover. He was also smarmy to my daughter when asking where the restrooms were. The second host was much nicer on our way out. So, is it a bad day--I think so. Would I bring family here again (my daughter enjoyed her other visit and pushing for it) on the spur of the moment? Nope. Would I have another business lunch here? Sure, if someone else is paying. For the price point and category of restaurant, while the kitchen can have a bad day, service can never.

Al fresco was great! We had appetizers and had a great time!
Only don't try the outdoor patio upstairs! The line was very long and the pretentious press at the door would not give a wait time. Imagine consumers with resources to choose where to dine being herded into place without knowing when or whether they would enjoy what they selected. Be a bir more considerate and people will give you a second chance.

I frequently find myself lunching at tavern. I try to avoid but I'm often invited by business associates. Consistently poor service. On this occasion, they forgot a major ingredient in my meal and I wasn't able to eat until my dining companion was pretty much finished. The staff apologized 3 times while I was waiting, but still charged me full price. Always unnecessary interruptions during important conversation moments. Once they dropped off the check twice after we already paid (which caused a very awkward moment). Once, the servers asked 3 times if my colleague wanted a takeaway box (yes every time) and then someone took her plate away and she never received the box. It's almost worth going to see what they will mess up

Food was very good and a decent value. Service was good and they have several tv's for watching sports. Beers selection was good with lots of choices.
