Not good food. The “Skillet Steak” was really really bad. Just a bad cut of meat smothered in a not good tasting gravy to try and hide how bad the cut of meat is for $45. Don’t get it! The deviled eggs didn’t taste good either. The pork belly was ok but smothered in a bbq sauce. The lamb meatballs were the only redeemable thing. It’s a nice place with expensive bad tasting food. Take yourself elsewhere.

This was terrible. We arrived for our reservation at 10:35. By the time we got seated and the server came over it was 10:45. We thought we could order off the menu but were sent to the buffet. It was cold and many things empty. All were cold. Buffet was shut down by 11. For $24 a person you should have time to get seconds. Terrible!!! Go to McDonald’s.

Much too expensive!! I've had twice as good food for way less than half the price. The hashbrowns were cold & tasteless, the scrambled eggs were bland, and the coffee was terrible. But the shrimp and ham were good, and the desserts were delicious. However, the service was excellent!! Everyone was very friendly, as is common with most places in Knoxville. BUT they didn't warn us of the automatic 18% gratuity and still had the nerve to have a spot for extra gratuity on the check. I know it was Mother's Day and a special buffet brunch, but $279 for 3 people is outrageous. Needless to say, we won't be back. And for the guy who thought it was just a bar, the restaurant seating (for at least 60) is behind the bar.

Thanks for the feedback, Jo! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the shrimp and ham, and the desserts at Tavern at Maker Exchange. However, we're sorry to hear about your disappointment with the food and pricing. We strive to provide a high-quality dining experience, and it sounds like we fell short this time. Your comments about the service and gratuity have been noted, and we'll ensure to review these aspects. Despite this, we're glad to know that you found our staff to be friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. We hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Server was nice, but service was very slow. Food brought out cold. When brought up to server, no effort made to correct or rectify. Not even apology offered. Sorry, but can’t recommend.

The food was delicious and drinks were as well. This is an extremely loud place as it’s centered near the elevators but we had a nice corner that we could hold a conversation. The server was pleasant but very slow. Prices were a bit high but again the food was delicious.

So overall, this place kinda sucks. We ordered the chicken lollipops for an appetizer and they were dryer than the Sahara dessert - they came accompanied with peppers that you’d expect to be warm like the chicken but were cold? Weird. And for $17 you only get 4. I ordered the burger for dinner and asked that it be cooked medium, I got a dried, overcooked burger, but I’d still rate it like a 5/10 so not the worst. The bacon jam was good. My boyfriend got the pork chop and it was also dry. Is that the theme here? Then he got mashed potatoes from the a la carte menu and they were cold…..our server kinda sucked. I’ve been a server so I get how it can be when it’s busy, but it wasn’t, it was the end of the night and the crowd was dying down. Maybe he had a long day? He rarely checked on us. He didn’t tell us about the valentines special, anything we asked for (water, drinks, check, etc) took 15+ minutes. No plates for our appetizer either. We went on Valentine’s and they did finish the night with a free rose and 2 chocolates for me and my boyfriend which was a nice touch. But overall 3/10, my cocktail was the best part of the night and I don’t even remember what it was called, so not that memorable.

Absolutely a wonderful place for friends to get together and enjoy a wonderful meal. The live music playing in the lobby was a beautiful touch. For Valentine’s Day the waiter bringing the women at the table along stem rose was such a sweet surprise. I would absolutely come here again. We ended up buying several appetizers and sharing, but the rest of the menu looks delicious.
