Excellent dinner both nights. Food and service were both good.
I like this place and have eaten there several times. That said, I took my partner for a nice dinner and we both got the black pasta w/ seafood. It was so one-note hot—like someone had dumped a lot of cayenne pepper in—that it was pretty inedible and a complete disappointment.
Food was incredible and service started good , but then our server disappeared and one of our desserts
Lived up to all the hype x 1000. Incredible food, to perfection.... Impeccable service. A true 5 star Burke
experience..... Expensive $$ but worth it.
Really really good- try the Bacon Clothesline! We went for a dinner date and it was the perfect amount of energy/noise. Great drinks- the pork shank was awesome too.
Fantastic food, incredible service. My wife and I went to celebrate the Anniversary of our first date. While the may seem strange, we got married on Xmas Eve, so we really have a hard time celebrating it as we're normally too busy wrapping presents - hence why we celebrate the first date.
We were sat at our table and were immediately greeted with 2 flutes of Champagne and wished a Happy Anniversary. This set the tone for our entire visit. We did the 3 course brunch prix fixe for $50 - well worth it in my book. Also got an order of the Candied, Clothesline Bacon (A must!) along with multiple Mimosas. The Pretzel Crusted Crabcake Benedict did not disappoint, but wait - there's more... Order the Baked Alaska, it's incredible to look at as well as eat.
We'll definitely go back and do this again - just not going to wait until next year.
After reading reviews by girlfriend and I were excited to try this place.... unfortunately, the food and service were absolutely horrible. Neither of us would ever go back to Tavern62. It took well over 10 minutes to get menus once seated at the table, my girlfriend ordered the pork as her main and it was literally all fat - so after sending it back and changing to salmon the dish came back very undercooked (asked for medium, definitely got rare). I had the chicken dish and it was nothing special, chicken you could argue was slightly dry and flavors were rather bland with no unique aspects. Overall, save your money and spend it elsewhere, plenty of delicious places in NYC I would rather go.
We went for restaurant week dinner. The best part of the meal, by far, were the appetizers. The lobster dumplings and octopus chorizo skewers were both delicious - wish there had been more than 2 for each! The short rib was largely flavorless and the salmon was a muddled entree that wasn't any better than a home cooked version. The creme brûlée was great but the butterscotch pudding was blah. What really ruined the meal was the horrible service. Way worse than local neighborhood joins where you pay a fraction of the cost. We won't be back!!
Great dining experience. Fantastic food, great service, wonderful experience!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Can’t wait to go back. Great food, impeccable service.
Food is excellent, service is friendly and good.
Not an inexpensive restaurant but
The presentation is very impressive, but the value of the food is poor.
Everything was great except that we got mixed up the bill.
The food and service were excellent and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great Restaurant Week option & offerings!
Wonderful food and service.
Thanks for an amazing experience. Juliana at the bar was hospitable, efficient, and professional. Keith (?) my waiter was informative, friendly and professional. The food was fast and delicious.
Their restaurant week menu is totally worth the price. Excellent food and reasonable portion. Best restaurant I’ve been to during restaurant week. Romantic atmosphere. Service is ok in my opinion.
I came here with my family to celebrate my birthday. I chose this restaurant because I read amazing reviews about it and I heard David Burke is a good chef. Even so, this has to be the worse dining experience I’ve ever had. The waiter and staff were nice but the food was bland in terms of flavor. We each ordered an appetizer. The crab cake and tuna tartare we’re good but I felt the angry lobster dumplings could have been better. The main courses were horrible. We order the roasted chicken and two orders of the short rib. The chicken was bland and had zero flavor. The short rib lacked in flavor as well. We were very disappointed. The appetizers and the sides were the only things we enjoyed. We paid $200 for three people just to have bland food.
Fun place. Good food and beer selection. Will be back
Everything was perfect as usual. The waitress was attentive and helpful. The food was absolutely to die for. We had a table for two in the corner and although it was busy we could easily carry on a conversation and hear everything that was being said.
Great service, wonderful atmosphere in the semi-private room on second floor. It was a pleasure dining here and would do so again!
the restaurant food is terrible and environment is very noise. The service is so normal.
I do not know why some people gave so high evaluation, it is not worth.
I went there for restaurant week. It was amazing. Lots of options on menu. And food was amazing, atmosphere was good, interior was good, and service was fine too. Overall i liked it a lot. I would like to try David's other restaurant too.
Tavern 62 really stepped up to the plate for Restaurant week! The food was great, the staff was honest on their favorite dishes and the portions were big for a typical restaurant week menu! Highly recommend it! Added touch was that David loves to work the floor and check on his guests!
Disappointed in this restaurant week evening , food was not up to this restaurants usual high standard.
Came here for NY restaurant week on a date with my boyfriend. The food was outstanding, David Burke definitely knows how to put a fun spin on some classic dishes. The services was incredible, our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The cocktails are original and delicious, we got 2 rounds. I would definitely recommend for any occasion!
I eat at Tavern 62 regularly and this was my second time in the same week. We sat in the bar area at one of the tables and unfortunately the service was subpar. There is minimal staff foot traffic so getting salt/pepper/olive oil was incredibly challenging. The food was fine/good but not up to their regular quality. I'm not sure if that was because it was restaurant week or not but it was night and day compared to the food just days before. While I didn't taste it, my friends were terribly disappointed with the apple tart. I'll definitely be back but this trip was definitely on the less favorable side.
Incredible service, wonderful food, overall fantastic dining experience!
