Came for dinner Friday night the food was fantastic and so imaginative! Anthony C our waiter went above and beyond, Not only was he a good waiter but he called Lyft for us to get a car to bring us to Lincoln Center! I'll never forget that❤

The food and service was great. Only thing that shocked us when bill came was the price of the daily special. It was our mistake not to inquire about the price for the sole fish speciall of the day. Surprise! It cost $60.00. Good, but not $60.00 good. Yes, would go back, but would be more informed next time.

They ran out of the dish I ordered and did not say anything until almost an hour after ordering it. They didn’t even comp my dish we had to ask for something and they only took off the dessert. Think that could have been handled better.

Was excited to go because I love David Burke restaurants .... well I used to. But eating here was like looking forward to seeing an ex love interest only to realize they are now out of shape and broke with maybe something reminiscent in the smile and sense of humor ... but you completely romanticized the experience and was ultimately disappointed ....
The service was abominable if not altogether just vacant as a quality of any restaurant let alone a good one ... the food was adequate - fish good, steak just not worth ordering - very slim sirloin and way too fatty...served cool and not warm or hot... the desserts were over cooked one with waffles sandwiching a softer cake was like a over cooked burnt waffle and hard as a rock almost inedible.
They were very nice at the end trying to make up for all that was complained about above but

Everything was fabulous. Potato knish, cavatelli, drinks and desert. Graciously pulled a couple of ingredients from a dish to accommodate a vegetarian. Will return.

Location and ambience great
Service friendly
Food very disappointing. Odd combinations and everything was very dry and rather uninspiring.
The Pork Crackling special was pretty much inedible it was so hard and dry.
Overall very disappointing and poor value (even for NY)

Very nice ambience. Lower bar area with some tables and the main dining room with a couple other dining areas upstairs. First, I got the watermelon, proscuitto, barata salad. Wonderful! My wife got the Caesar and it was fresh and balanced. Very good. Then, I got the shortribs with prawns and cheese grits. Excellent! As a side, I had to try to the horseradish potato knish. Glad I did, it was so good. My wife got the lobster lasagna. Wow, so much meat!. No room for dessert. I would definitely come back here.

I have wonderful memories of David Burke's restaurant on 62nd Street. Those memories were wiped out by a very unmemorable and expensive, ( for what they served), meal.
The bread selection was nil. They served four slices of toasted cranberry bread that was stale, and my friend who cannot eat cranberries was given the equivalent of Wonder Bread, toasted.
The beet salad appetizer served raw beets that were hard and without taste. My main was branzino which was served with a baby spear of brocolli as garnish, and one fillet of bransino, and an overly spicy tomato sauce which I couldn't eat. This dish was $38.00, with not even a piece of potato.
I found the restaurant to be overpriced and not delicious.
And it was pretty empty.

Service was haughty and mediocre for a slow evening. The waiter made to sure to correct my pronunciation of the wine I ordered. Why?

Sunday Brunch on a cloudy Memorial Day Weekend! What better way to spend it than at iconic Chef David Burke’s Tavern 62...start to finish it is a spectacular experience by any standard. Anthony is a great server and a lot of fun. Patrick is a very accommodating GM and Chef Burke is the best!!! The wife is always using his recipes when dining at home, YUMMY

Had an absolutely lovely dinner at Tavern 62. From start to finish, the service, drinks and food were impeccable. The atmosphere manages to be both cozy and modern and we particularly liked the corner booth we were seated in. The cocktails are innovative and well prepared. My husband loved the bison and my rigatoni was absolutely delicious. The baked Alaska was stunning and very good. We also appreciated the amuse bouche and petis fours that came courtesy and the chef and added an extra special touch to an already noteworthy meal. We also enjoyed the excellent and prompt service and the recommendations of our knowledgeable waiter. I would highly recommend and we will certainly be back!

The service was better than the food . The food was good. However, I did not consider it worth the price. We went for Mother's Day brunch. The chicken & waffles were good; not great & not better than Maiden Pickles. The steak & eggs were fine. There were 3 of us. Prefix menu was $50 per person 3 courses (appetizer, main & dessert). Dessert was ok as well. I think I expected more in regards to the food because it's David Burke's restuarant.

This was my third visit to this restaurant . It was nearly empty but I was seated near five screaming women who never seemed to have heard that indoors it is actually more polite to use a speaking voice . The waiter was very friendly but there was the usual battle of how many times the glasses could be topped up in the course of one dinner. The bacon was as good as always . The steak for 60 dollars tasted mostly of salt which means there was no chef but a cook. The chicken was a boneless pile that was not light and crisp but a mass of chicken meat with an uninspired gravy. The short rib dish could have been a joke. Two shrimp on top of a one and half cubic inches of meat. A real deal at 39 dollars! It was my last time there I bet. And since the restaurant was nearly empty on Sunday night at 8pm, it obvious that other guests in the past feel the same way. I would go somewhere else. It is now uninspired and expensive pub food.

Brought work colleagues from out of town. They are in the hospitality industry and difficult to impressed. But the bacon cloths line started off their experience either sweet, Smokey and salt flavors. The Jersey short rib, seafood and chicken entrees were all a home run. Great friends top off the dinner conversation with delicious cocktails... Mohetos and Manhattans oh my! All made for a delicious and fun evening, thank you!

Food, service and overall dining experience was outstanding. Visiting from out of town but will definitely return. Was there on Sunday night, which was half-price bottles of wine. Gives you an opportunity to try some nice bottles of wine for reasonable restaurant pricing. But even without that dining experience is wonderful.

Hasn’t David Burke been in the restaurant biz for decades? Seems his front-of-the-house could be completely polished and excellent by now. Not so.
We had a 7:45 Friday evening reservation. Cocktail order arrived misunderstood. Food OK, some garnishes clunky and heavy. But it was really the overall service that was less than smooth (our assigned waiter was attentive and had to run interference for the rest of the staff). He quickly rectified the old-fashioned order that came only as bourbon. Back waiters cleared bread plates and butter knives, leaving the bread and butter? But what really puzzled and peeved us was the floor staff collecting the table votives, (not terribly late for a Friday eve, 9:30, perhaps) essentially extinguishing ambiance with new tables recently seated and others still attempting to enjoy their meals, signaling everyone to ‘amscray’. Tacky. Restaurants are in the hospitality industry, aren’t they? I’ve been in cheap chains with better attention to detail and consideration to the diners. When I’m forking over a lot of dough to eat in your establishment with your name on the plates, please give customers the experience they expect and have paid for.

I have been eating at Burke's restaurants for more years than I can count. last night was a disaster on many levels. prices are ridiculous. $22 for a martini. really?? wine by the glass $19? really, portion size of tuna tartare was tiny, but I mean tiny. and then there was the duck. 5 or 6 miniscule slices of overcooked duck with some rock hard side that I think was promoted as foie gras. all I can say is don't go. save your money. btw, burke was there last night. obviously counting his money and not monitoring the kitchen. too bad. I sure adored your restaurants up until now.

This was my second visit to the beautifully redecorated space that used to be known as Fishtails whose brightly painted walls have been replaced with warm dark wood paneling. As the names indicate the new menu leans much more towards land based dishes than those of the sea and beef, pork and lamb selections were delicious. Fortunately for piscators, oysters, angry lobster and black pasta with ocean critters also adorn the menu. Delicious cocktails and desserts bookended the meal.
