Very good food, prompt , courteous service and fast preparation of our food. Drinks were very good as well .
Great pub food and service. Wide variety of menu items.
Excellent food, and even better bartender!
Outstanding service and food! Can’t wait to go back!!
Food was outstanding! Fresh cut fries and delicious pizza and burgers. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu.
Tavern 52 was such a great stop ! We choose it for mother's day and it worked out really well. We will return. They have a lot of appetizers and sandwiches but, ultimately we choose 2 italian entrees. Chicken Piccata for me, spaghetti and meatballs for my husband. We will return and possibly order the same items again. We sat at the bar, the service from Frank was exceptional. Decor and noise just right and we were able to watch golf ( which we like. ) Yes, we will return.
Tavern 52 continues to provide a great meal in a friendly casual atmosphere at good value. Menu selections are numerous without being too many. Portions are healthy. Food tastes good. They have a full bar if you like cocktails. We went their for Mothers Day. Everyone in our party of five ate to their satisfaction and delight. The service has always been friendly, relaxed, and responsive. We had appetizers, soups, salads and 4 pastas dishes and a cheeseburger (for the Mom in the group). We look forward to our next meal there.
Always a great experience when we eat there. The staff is very attentive and helpful and the food is very good. Always plenty of food to take home too!
Upon entering the waitress/hostess seemed stressed and told us to just go sit anywhere. She apparently had to get a manager to work the OpenTable system as she did not know how to do it. We waited a while for a server to come to the table. Evidently the waitress/hostess asked the bar tender to cover our table. He was very nice, friendly, accommodating. The food was good. Salad was very large for sharing but they were out of the portobello cheesesteak and so we got a chicken sandwich instead. The sandwich was good but the fries were overdone or had been sitting a while. Should have tried the onion rings instead. The chicken pasta Alfredo was very good and a nice sized portion. We also went during peak dinner time and compared to other restaurants that we have been to during the pandemic this one seemed a little too closely packed to us. The servers were interacting very closely with the customers as well, compared to other places we go to.
Always looking to try a new restaurant, I found Tavern 52 on line. The menu was appealing and the location was not far, so I made a dinner reservation for 7:15 PM. We arrived on time and approached the unattended reception stand. The restaurant was moderately busy but we saw a number of open booths, as well as space around the bar. Two female and one male employee walked by us, as we were obviously waiting, without any acknowledgement. They were serving and carrying plates and trays back to the kitchen. It almost became comical that we were being ignored. After 10 minutes, one female employee told us in passing that there was a slight wait. She said we could keep waiting by the desk or wait at the bar. We went to the bar, ordered and received drinks, and continued to wait. We saw other customers enter. Some were sent to wait. A few were seated. The same employees bustled by us a number of times. At about 7:40, I asked the girl who spoke with us the approximate wait time. She said she didn’t know but would ask Mike. Several minutes later we were told we would be seated now and we were led to one of the booths that was unoccupied when we entered. We were seated at 7:45. Our waiter was Mike. The rest of this review is completely positive. The food and service were both excellent. My wife started with a salad while I had the French Onion Soup. Salad was crisp and fresh. Soup was delicious and served piping hot. Entrees included the Cioppino with a side of pasta for my wife and the Pastrami Reuben for me. The portions were generously large and the food was delicious, attractive and well presented. We both left with take home boxes. The prices were very reasonable I don’t know if they were in a short staff situation that night or what would have caused the delay in seating a confirmed reservation, but we will return as we considered this an excellent restaurant.
As always the food was exceptional. The only negative is that they seem understaffed and the few waiters/waitresses there are running around like crazy. The wait at the door to be seated (even with a reservation) was long and no one even acknowledged us for probably 5 minutes or so. Then we were questioned that our reservation was not showing up. Once we were in a seat the staff seemed friendlier.
Didn't have a wait at all. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was great.
Upon arriving we stood at the hostess station while a woman ignored us for a while. She finally walked over and said 3? I told her we had a reservation which she ignored (they never checked us off for being there either).
Food was ok - we had the meatball sub which was kinda mushy and the blackened chicken Alfredo pasta. The pasta was overly creamy and thick. Garlic bread that came with it was the best part of the meal. I’d say this is a DONT go back to. Between the apathetic service and blah food you can do better somewhere else.
Just went for a small meal and some drinks but it was Geary. The chicken Roma was so fresh and hot!!
Food was good and reasonably priced. Drinks were strong, which is always a plus. Greatly appreciate that the restaurant has invested in treated air, but was a little put off by them seating everyone in the same area next to each other even though there were plenty of open tables to space people out.
I love Tavern 52. They have great food and service. I am especially fond of the Wedge Salad with blue cheese crumbles and dressing. On one visit to the restaurant, I lost an earring. I called and asked if they had found it. They not only found it but the staff repaired the loosened link before they gave it back to me. They are really nice people and I hope they do well after the COVID restrictions have been lifted. They installed a special air purifier to ensure that customers are breathing clean air!
Great food. Service was a little slow but was not a big deal
Great food, varied menu, friendly staff
Highly recommend for a relaxed meal
We arrived for our 6:30 reservation 5 minutes early and waited at the hostess stand - while 3 people (servers?) walked by us and didn’t acknowledge we were standing - finally 2 of the 3 said they would be right with us - we were taken to our table ordered drinks, finished the drinks after 40 minutes and no one came back to take our order so we inquired and he said the drinks were on him and apologized- food was very good - I realized during a pandemic you could have trouble knowing how to staff for a particular night but this seems to be our experience each time we have gone here and before the pandemic - hopefully things will improve
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Very easy to get to and parking great - definitely give it a try you will be happy you did!
As always, we had a great meal at Tavern 52. It was nice and hot and served promptly.
Great food! Super nice restaurant, super friendly waiter. Had NFL games playing great experience! Will return!
Great food, big portions
Great food, service and very creative on how they social distanced
We had a good experience, not great, but given the current climate, I’d go back and give them another chance.
I would highly recommend the Tavern 52! The food was outstanding, our server Toni, was amazing, and the owner was incredible! A friend and I went recently on a Saturday for lunch.
One of the entrees I tried was the littleneck clams. They were the best I've ever had! I even got a takeout container to take home my left over clam sauce, it was that good! I also had the lobster salad, which was so delicious!!!! I also tried the parmesan and garlic wings, I love them!!! I cannot say one bad thing! They have outdoor and indoor seating. Precautions are followed and everyone is socially distanced appropriately. The new owner has done a fabulous job! If you haven't tried it yet, I would highly recommend adding it to your list!!! You will not be disappointed.
I had the burger it was at least 10 ounces I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium rare best ever wife had lobster salad sandwich she loved it can’t wait to try the rest of the menu
Nice sports bar/diner. Recommended.
We love Tavern 52 - everything about the place is nice. It's also very close to our house so doing the quick pop-in is always fun.
BTW: Love their pizza.
Great food and service. The calzone and stromboli were especially tasty!
My husband's order came out with wrong pasta. Outdoor dining was a bit noisy.
Great food and excellent service. No clue why it isn’t packed! But, makes for a wonderful quiet, relaxing meal.
First time we’ve ever been there. There was music and we came late(8:30) so not many people there eating. The food was good and a lot of food for cost. It was nice to not have many there but I was surprised because the food was all good. The staff was all great.
This is a nice neighborhood tavern with lots of comfortable booths for dining.
Enjoyed! Small family dinner and food was great. Liz our waitress served us quickly. She was kind enough to reseat us after the first table was a little chilly near a door.
Tavern 52 is definitely a gem of a find. The outstanding service of our waitress, Gina alone was worth the trip. With computers down she did an outstanding job keeping up with service. We had a table of 6 and all enjoyed their meals and drinks. I enjoyed the value of the experience with fair prices, great food, but most of all, fantastic service. Thank you Gina for making our first visit definitely not our last!
This restaurant is okay. You can tell it’s a neighborhood hang out and the food definitely caters to the older palette. Everything needed salt. I had read great reviews and was excited to try it but was not anything special and I probably wouldn’t go back. One thing I did love was the Christmas decor.
We were there on a Saturday night, the food was amazing and there was live music! It was so fun and the food was amazing!
This was a first visit for both my guest and me. (Lunch, 10/31)
It was great to discover a new favorite place! Our server ( a lady...sorry..can't recall her name) was attentive and made the entire experience pleasant. I'm looking forward to returning with family and friends to try dinner and brunch! It was also quiet( minimal music) which was a plus for both talking and for my friend's hearing impairment.
All the food we had was excellent. We had cocktails, the calamari steak appetizer, spinach ravioli and meatballs, steamed clams, mushroom soup, and crab cakes. Everyone enjoyed what they ate. More casual than I expected, which was good. Service was welcoming, friendly, and accurate.
