Awesome place. Service great
Reasonable portions and tasty food. Quite happy with wines by the glass of their list.
Taureaux Tavern is an excellent place for a business lunch. The steak salad and lobster roll are two of my favorites. The pace is relaxed, and the service is attentive without being rushed.
Way more food than it needed to be. Absolutely outrageous. But I suppose $16 for a Club sandwich is justifiable when the sandwich is the size of an adult head. Also, strange service standard - they automatically refilled non-alcoholic beverages and cleared plates BEFORE asking if any of us wanted any more. Besides being wasteful (on the drinks side), it felt rushed and inconsiderate (on the plate side). I think they’re trying to be intuitive but in fact it came off as annoying and imposing.
I had the Caesar Salad with salmon and it was delicious
I loved the food! Great quality steaks and Seafood! The service was amazing!
Great atmosphere and a great array of dish options for a quick dinner downtown when clocking out. Went out for a date and it was the perfect setting.
After staff nearly tumbling onto our table, throwing gravy fortunately at the empty adjacent table, breaking a plate, and delaying our service (I got my steak, but we had to wait another 10 minutes for my date's), my date's steak was rare rather than medium rare...so another delay as we sent it back. It came back medium/well, so I gave my date my steak which was medium and I ate hers. Any comp for the inconvenience? NO! My wine was average despite it being the more expensive of the 2 Bordeaux on the list. Hats off to the violinist and cellist for trying, but they were not even close to professional level--their flat, uninspired playing of pop tunes was a nuisance. And when they took a break, pop/rock came through the speakers, entirely dissonant with the atmosphere the restaurant was trying to nurture. For $160, I was very disappointed with my Valentine's experience. I won't return.
Absolutely amazing! From the appetizers to the entrees, dessert to the cocktails, it's all fantastic!
The staff is excellent beyond words! The host I had interaction with was very considerate, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The waiter was very attentive and gave recommendations that we did not regret taking up on. Other staff members were also attentive making sure outle cups were filled with water before we even have to ask. I would definitely be back!
Living in the area, we have visited 4 or 5 times as a couple or with a group. Decora, Food, cocktails, wine list, and service are really great. Would like to see a bit larger cocktail and food menu.
Went for restaurant week 2020 and really enjoyed ourselves. I was a little thrown by the inclusion of cheddar cheese in a french onion soup but I seem to be in the minority among my dining companions. The hanger steak I had was amazing and the staff was very accommodating!
Good mostly except mediocre fries. Portions very small.
Came in for cocktails but ended up taking advantage of the restaurant week menu. Such an incredible value with generous portions. Our meal was delicious (the french onion soup was incredible and steak was perfection) paired with a carafe of red wine, just stellar. Our service was beyond excellent! A lovely gem with sleek art deco accents, location overlooked by the metra crowd. Cant wait to go back.
Great service. Went for brunch on a Saturday. We asked for an off brunch item and the chef was able to reproduce for us! It was a simple Brussels sprout dish, but we are huge fans and it looked so good on the website, that they were able to make it for us.
Will definitely be back. Bummer is not much parking at this time due to construction, but we spot heroed and our friend meter parked a block away.
Jill was an amazing waitress; knowledgeable and friendly in all aspects of wine and food!
I work close by and it’s such a great place with great staff. Would def frequent more often but it is a bit too loud. But... love it anyway.
Great food, fantastic service, as always
Water spilled all over me. A full quart! No apology, no dining credit. Really? Bye!
The chef couldn’t have been nicer, as was our waiter. The bartender made a great Manhattan
Place was freezing.
I enjoy the Caesar salad with salmon. Well worth the price.
The server forgot to bring an ordered Diet Coke. Then, when the beverage arrived, it was flat. The customer complained and asked for a new Diet Coke, but was told that is how the beverage is. The customer just changed his order to an Arnold Palmer. Such a simple order of a Diet Coke could not be fulfilled.
Otherwise the food was good. Very large portions. The ambience is very nice. The noise level is loud.
There were two holiday parties and had we known we would not have gone
Food lousy too salty
Our server was v good and made best of it
I can’t believe the open table rating
A real sham.
Went on a Saturday night. It was empty. Only fair food.
We had the best time!! Food was delicious and service amazing!! We will be back
Good food! Very large portions so you most likely will have leftovers
The food was tasty but we thought the menu is too limited. Too much meat. Would like to see more varied entrees, soups, and side salads.
Restaurant is not really French.
Food is bland.
Service is good.
Cigar smoke from those on the glassed in terrace comes into the restaurant.
Both the fish and steak lunch salads were not good. Meat was not fresh and rather chewy. Was expecting better food quality given the price.
This was my first visit to Taureaux with a coworker from Atlanta. We were both very happy with our server- Jill; she was beyond Amazing. The food was very tasty and Travis, the manager also stopped by our table to introduce himself. Since it was Halloween and the weather was a bit ugly, it was a quiet night- but I will be sharing this little gem with my coworkers and I will definitely be back really soon!
Really excellent filet roquefort. Service was more casual than I anticipated, but server was delightful and extremely helpful. Restaurant is buzzy.
I worked at 1 Financial Place when the building opened around 1985. The space that Taureaux Tavern occupies was used over the decades as a broker office, a women's clothing store and other uses. This is the BEST usage of the space in its history. Taureaux Tavern has a great collection of beers, wines, and food. I am so pleased that this place exists.
Excellent Service. Delicious creative dishes.
Went for an early dinner on a Monday night and had a wonderful experience. I started with the Running Bull cocktail and it was perfect for fall. We ordered the steak tartare which was prepared table side in a fun twist. For entrees we shared the chilled lobster tails and steak au poivre special. The steak was prepared medium rare and was absolutely perfectly cooked. The green beans that came with the steak were delightful as well. Besides the food being delicious, we had great service across the board. Will definitely be back.
The salads for lunch are great, plenty of protein and veggies!
Jill, our server, is the greatest!
We celebrated October birthdays. The service was excellent. We look forward to visiting again!
Our server was very well intended and friendly. However, when she brought our bottle of wine, she proceeded to open it and pour four glasses without offering a taste (oops). Several other minor glitches on a very slow Monday night at 7:00 pm make it hard for me to recommend. However, all four of us really enjoyed our entrees, including Salmon and Steak Frites. So, food's really good but don't expect five star service at night.
