Introducing Taureau, a fondue spot in SOHO helmed by a charismatic Frenchie, awaiting your next first date.

Opened by a seasoned fondue pro (Didier, who perfected his trade at his own Parisian fondue spot for 13 years), the small, space is decked in white and red, spotted with two-person tables and set up for serving one food and one food only: bubbling cauldrons of cheese, oil and chocolate.

This is pretty much all you need to know. Start with cheese, move to meat, finish with chocolate.

And don't worry about the stove-like contraption built into the surface of your table: it's designed to heat up the cauldron of fondue, but remain completely cold to the touch.

My fiancé and I went here for the first time on my birthday and recently returned for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance is cozy, romantic, and intimate - a rarity in the city. Service was great, the servers are attentive without being overbearing. All three fondue courses were delicious. We ordered a bottle of the house bordeaux, which paired with the meal well. All of the cheeses sound delicious, but we got the swiss - and it was dreamy, definitely order some apples to go with it. The steak was tender and full of flavor, we also loved the dipping sauces. Of course, the chocolate fondue was fantastic, we ordered the dark chocolate and it was the right level of bitter while still being sweet and tasty. You can order more croutons or salad for the cheese, or fruits or cakes for the chocolate, but the initial portions are pretty plentiful on their own. Highly recommend for anyone who wants fondue with quality service and a quiet atmosphere.

Ambience was wonderful, and the food was excellent. We had the cheese & chocolate (for 4 of us), and all of it was terrific. Our ability to ask for more of anything to be dipped was outstanding (although what we got was more than sufficient).

Delicious fondue, warm and friendly staff, lovely ambiance. I wish the cheese course had some vegetables for dipping instead of only croutons and salad.

My brother invited me to Taureau for my Birthday. We had the cheese fondue( it came with a nice mixed salad) & the chocolate fondue for dessert. Everything was delicious. The service was Amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Simply delicious! The truffle fondue was amazing and the creamiest we’ve ever had. The dark chocolate fondue is out of this world! The service was great and the ambiance was perfect!

Taureau is a great place. The food is great. The staff is amazing and very courteous. I love the cozy, intimate setting of the restaurant. My 3rd visit there and will continue to go back

Slightly pricey but amazing cheese fondue! I recommend getting soft bread instead of the croutons.

I was craving fondue and this place hit the spot! It’s a prix fixe setup and you can do cheese, meat & chocolate in courses. Service was prompt & attentive but not stuffy. One note: they only take cash/Amex/crypto! No Visa or MC, so just know before you go.
