   All the food was fantastic. We had the focaccia bites, green salad, chicken sausage sliders, and the 18 hour beef stew. Everything was delicious and served in a very timely fashion. And the servings were perfect for the two of us to share. The wait staff was very courteous and helpful. We highly recommend the Tasting Lounge at Wente Vineyards.

   Overpriced small plates, but they are shareable. $26 for 3 pieces of lamb kebab? $20 for 3 chicken sausage sliders? Too high for average quality, nothing special here folks. Wine is great, but food fair. I like the The Grille at Wente better than this tasting lounge. At leaset the Grille is not such a rip-off.

   The food was outstanding. We had the flatbread, duck wings and lamb kabobs, all three were the best ever. Imagine amazing food in a Beautiful outdoor dining environment.

    Delicious food in a beautiful environment. We were seating on the patio and it was a nice, sunny February afternoon. The server was attentive and helpful. The food came out hot, fresh, and generous servings. We will be back!

    We had a very good meal, the food and wine pairings were outstanding, and overall a fine evening. But to be honest, I miss the old restaurant, the remodel leaves me a little cold, and felt the wind portions with the five courses were a little short, a surprise given what we paid for the meal. To repeat, we enjoyed it, but the ambience and value fell off from last year. Not complaining, just giving you my honest take. Thanks for the effort.

    We had the 4-course Valentine menu with wine pairings. The wines were fantastic and well paired but the pours were ridiculously small (especially considering it was $180pp). Our server was fantastic and offered extra tastes but even with those it wasn't much. If you're trying to do something elegant and putting up a big price why spoil it all by being chinzy? Some of the food was great, some was just OK. I would say the more traditional fare was best. The more exotic was OK at best. For example the amuse bouche was billed as a blini, but was actually a cold pancake (think Krusteaz) and tasted -- just like a cold pancake. On the other hand the french bread was very good, the beef fillet was very good (and the wine pairing was especially fine -- and you had enough for about the first 4 bites).

    Had several small plates after a flight tasting at Wente's other Estate location. Duck wings, salad, Pan bread, Beef ragout, warm olives and hummus were lovely! Paired with Pinot Noir. Plenty of food and great service!

    I normally do not resort to sending communications about my experience at restaurants but felt the need to do so as a loyal fan of Wente and our dissatisfaction with the experience. We have been coming to Wente ever since we moved out to the bay area 15 years ago, living in Danville. We finally joined your wine club last year. We have always brought friends and family out to take in the whole Livermore experience vs Napa…. Our wedding anniversary was 2/6 – 38 years…. I wanted to make it special; and set up a surprise luncheon at your restaurant. Love the whole winery-dining experience…..I had called ahead of time and set a reservation and communicated that it was a special anniversary event. We arrived on time and when we checked in we were seated in an area that was a thru way path for the waiters… Asked to me moved as there were only 8-10 customers in the entire restaurant and there was plenty of open seating. The waitress was clearly having a bad day. We ordered the lunch special for two which included the wine pairings. With the lack of customers, I would have expected the service to be over the top and it was not. Slow… the wine pours were not timed with the dining courses and appeared to be short pours…. The food was outstanding as usual but the follow up by the waitress was horrible and then at the end she asked if we wanted to purchase any of the wines we tried …. But did not offer to pour any additional tasting to try what she was trying to sell us? We did communicate we were wine club members. Funny- She was also serving another table and was bring the bottles over and following up as if she knew them.. we did not get that same service level……They had ordered the same entrée. We finished our lunch and went over to pick up our wine club shipment and to wine taste. There were 4-5 employees including the manager standing around tasting wine within the bar-wine area and we were directed to have a seat in the side room across from the wine tasting ba

    We came here for lunch on Super Bowl Sunday so the noise level and service we experienced may not be the norm, but even with a 50% increase in noise and a 25% drop in the quality of service it still would have been well-worth the visit. We were inspired to come here by the offer of a coupon for a glass of wine with the purchase of a sharable food selection. My choice of crispy duck wings with 5 spice aioli and my companion's of their 28 hour beef stew, paired with our starter of gougeres (my favorite) proved to be more than enough to fill us completely. We plan to return soon even if they don't seduce us with the offer of free wine. By the way, the dining area which is off their tasting room is lovely with light-filled views of the nearby vineyard.

    This was my first time at this restaurant and I was with my girlfriends. We enjoyed every moment. The service was great and the food was delicious. Also, the wine was delicious. I can not wait to come back again with my husband.

    The entire menu is now based on being “shareable” and casual, but the prices are still quiet high. So this isn’t the place for a business lunch, unless you don’t mind having people pass plates around and wonder who’s going to get the last bite of food. Nor is it a place for a elegant dinner out, like it used to be. On top of that Wente did away with the Entertainment Club, that for a nominal yearly fee allowed up to six people to have a free glass of Wente wine with a meal purchased and no corkage fee when bringing wine to dinner. The club perks took the sting out of paying for higher priced items and was a huge hit with locals. Apparently Wente doesn’t care about gaining repeat business with the locals and would rather catering to millennials passing through town. So, while the food and service are still very good, the whole restaurant concept falls short, especially for the price. P.S. - the smoked pork chop that was so popular is NOT on the menu. Must be too hard to share!

    We booked the Cellar to celebrate 60th birthday. Tasting with 9th degree wines, lunch, etc. 1. The food service was poorly timed. Seems we waited a LONG WHILE from salad to fish course. Very awkward. 2. Waitperson helping us was seldom seen. Appeared to be very VERY busy upstairs with other customers. Would have expected more attentive service. Waited for more than 20 minutes for person to come back to room so we could ask for a spoon. 3. Explanation of wines was poor or NON-existant. Still not sure about the reds....

    Service was minimal, eg poured our own wine and water after initial pour from waitress. Restaurant was empty. Given takeaway dessert when we excepted to eat it on premises. Encouraged high tipping for no service provided. Locked within grounds with no exit when we left the restaurant. Absolutely terrify and I had anxiety attack. No exit or any explanation from server as we left. Rest lights turned off as we exited the restaurant. Uber was ordered ( 30 minutes wait) he arrived we couldn’t get out.

    The Cab and Cow had no fresh vegetables except for a few Brussels sprouts with the last course. Every course was the same color and textures and the dishes didn’t fit together that well. I was pretty disappointed.

    It was confusing that tables appeared to be served fries with lamb sliders, and we were not. We had to ask for them and were charged (they are NOT on the menu??). Over a week before coming, I called to say I needed gluten and dairy free choices. It was very disappointing that there wasn't a cracker or bread to go with the food. My companion was a chef and he noted how easily that would have been, even if they just purchased a gluten free cracker. The lamb sliders were delicious and even as a leftover the next day. We also requested to just have the ribeye and we couldn't get that "because they are hard to source". Disappointing they can't just order more. Price feels slightly inflated. I would only recommend to friends with expendable income.
