We had a wonderful dinner at Wente. We also visited the winery during the day to try many of their wines, and chose one to bring to dinner. Food and the view were spectacular.

Wonderful staff and chef customized the menu options to be vegetarian, explained non-vegan ingredients that could be omitted, and surprisingly lowered the price though I never asked. The option I chose came out looking and feeling complete (no obvious void from the meat, butter etc. exclusions). It was beautiful, flavorful, complex, and filling. The staff made me feel completely comfortable like it was routine and not the slightest inconvenience. Perfect dining experience! I checked kid friendly because they were very kind and natural when I've brought my kids in the past, even though it is a quiet place with mostly adults. There is no kid menu but those aren't interesting anyway. The servers simply split a dish onto two plates. If the children have basic manners and enjoy relaxing at the table for two hours, this place can be a great experience for any age :)

We had a great evening the waiter was exceptional his descriptions of the food was amazing . Enjoyed the evening friend, family, and the great service. Food was better than our last visit.

Beautiful setting. Food was amazing. We enjoyed the Ahi appetizer, hanger steak and halibut. Everything was outstanding. Service was good but not great. A bit inattentive and an over long pause between appetizer and entree. But overall very nice. A relaxing lunch.

We have neen disappointed the last few times we visited Wente. I will not be recommending it nor will I bring clients there anymore.

Booked Wente Restaurant weeks in advance as a treat for my sister. First impressions were great, beautiful location and staff were friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. We had a 3 course meal with wine on the outdoor patio which lived up to our expectations. The problem arose when I tried to pay the bill of $170 on a prepaid currency MasterCard (I was only visiting the US). I had checked that the card had sufficient funds before going to the restaurant which it did ($192) but the waiter arrived back to our table to announce that there was a problem with the card because the overall cost was below what the total bill and the 'expected tip' would amount to. Therefore they couldn't or wouldn't accept the card to pay. Our intention was to pay the tip in cash but instead I was embarrassed at my table in front of other diners having to query the issue, having never experienced this with ANY other business previously in my several other visits using this card. It really soured the overall experience for us and not wanting to make a issue out of it my sister used her card but as a result we only left a 15% tip rather than 20% and left swiftly afterwards. We then went for a walk around the grounds and visited the tasting room outdoor seating area where FYI-the wine we had been drinking in the restaurant cost less than half the price for a bottle! I would suggest the restaurant resolve this silly card problem asap to avoid discouraging diners from returning.
