Taste, Wood-Fired Kitchen is Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards’ inaugural restaurant. Set in the middle of a 450 acre farm with a 10-acre vineyard, Taste has a unique open-air design that showcases unparalleled views of the vineyards, rolling hills, and surrounding Southwest Virginia views and serving the finest in Appalachian inspired cuisine (not to mention the odd eclectic features that change on a whim).

Taste’s menu was created for sharing and is perfect as a family-style dinner with hearty portions and incredibly diverse choices. Guests may enjoy one of Nicewonder Vineyards’ award-winning wines as a tasting flight accompanying dinner, or while relaxing at the hand-crafted zinc bar.

Great for year-round dining, regardless of the weather. When it is warm, the sides go up to enjoy fresh open-air dining, when it gets cold, the sides are down and the heaters keep you warm and toasty.

The manager was extremely rude! We brought several customers with us and was treated like we were a burden! Everyone feels the same way! We will not be back!

Overated second disappointing experience for us will not return. They add a 18% service charge on the bill. Small portions, the chartreuse reboard is a joke.

The food was awesome but we were shocked at the use of paper plates for the appetizers. It is not environmentally friendly and we were surprised at such a "high end" restaurant using something so cheap.

Food was fantastic and service was just as good. Value was fine until we received the bill and a 18% service fee was applied to all Bills. I understand that this is common practice at high dining establishments in big cities however for a restaurant thats really an outdoor facility that has to have plastic on three sides in the winter to operate, this isn't a high end restaurant that can get by with charging such a fee. We throughly enjoyed the food and drinks but because of that we will not be back..

Great Place to enjoy the afternoon, the food, the views, the outdoors.
The employees were very helpful. The rosé wine was very good.
It is a great venue for big events.
We will go back again.

A beautiful property it is, and enjoyed the outdoor dining. The food was inventive and quite good. The menu was a little conjested, there by confusing. Our server, although endearing was filling in for someone, so his knowledge was limited.
We are anticipating the opening of the yurts and hotel, and the completion of the property for a full effect.
Children were playing around the garden which is close to the serving/dining area. Allowing this should probably be rethought, as it appeared that one child had been hurt.
Not only that but at the cost of dinner, seeing children playing and getting dirty is not the ambiance I would be looking to repeat.

I am glad that we tried Taste; however, the experience was not worth the cost. The food was ok, but we found the duck to be undercooked. The music genre was not to our liking and did not fit the ambiance of the venue. I hope that the restaurant succeeds because I am a proud Appalachian who grew up on home-grown food.

The scenery is absolutely beautiful!!! Our waitress was very entertaining & attentive. The food was very good & we were pleased to learn the overwhelming majority is produced on site. We wished the cocktails had incorporated more ingredients from the farm (lavender, basil, etc). Better signage/directions would be helpful for first timers (but now we know). Definitely a win for the area. Wishing Travis the best in his expansion /looking forward to info about The Inn

Great experience as usual. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Two things that NEED to change: ditch the paper plates and reduce the volume of the music. Sidenote, and this may just be personal taste, but the music doesn’t really go with the vibe of the restaurant so maybe revisiting that would be a good idea as well.

Service was great, however the menu is extremely limited. No substitutions or add-ons allowed. The food was honestly not great at all and extremely over priced. The Chardonnay was very good but also very pricey. If you are looking for expensive wine and a nice atmosphere, I would recommend. But if you’re looking for great food, I would not.

Very over priced. Paper plates and plastic forks even with post COVID precautions - not acceptable. Potato chips straight in the bag didn’t help either. All of the above is okay for a halfway house at the local municipal golf course. Not acceptable at these prices at a private winery/golf course.
