Came from Brookline,MA, picked restaurant randomly.
Travis Hayes was our waiter.
Thank you Travis
Server was in a mood. Said she thought the 8oz Kobe Beef Burger was gross since I’m assuming she’s vegan.
Really great food and atmosphere for brunch!!
Amazing food and service! Great vegan options too.
I love this place for lunch! Great salads and atmosphere. Just relaxing and easy in between shopping and gym. Great menu choices and especially if you are on a special diet.
Great food and service at reasonable prices for lunch; outdoor patio is beautiful for when it's not a hundred degrees outside.
Wonderful ambience, delicious food (Kobe meatballs and mushroom risotto a must) understated neighborhood gem on Melrose Ave. Attentive wait staff and cozy vibe.
went for birthday brunch. great food and friendly waitress. i had the huevos rancheros.
The French toast was wonderful and the hole and one is a must have. Kat our server was super friendly and took great care of us.
Seriously, one of the best places in LA. AMAZING food and staff, always. Grazie tante!
Wonderful restaurant and excellent service. Very happy with my visit.
We went to Taste for a pre-concert dinner. The food was great! really fresh and flavorful. Beets and sweet potatoes for appetizers (so yummy and not "typical"), Kobe burger was lovely with mushrooms; pasta was flavorful and the quinoa salad was refreshing. We had attentive service but it was not overbearing. It wasn't very crowded when we were there, because it was early in the evening, but I can imagine that its busy later. We appreciated being able to hold a conversation without raising our voices. I look forward to returning and exploring the menu more!
Food was bad - breakfast burrito was tasteless and the flagship mac and cheese was dry and unappetizing.
We got sat on a table under a fan, that wasn't working on one of the hottest days in LA. The server was great, but the food was mediocre, and value...Fastfood offers better food.
We came with my boyfriend on crutches after a severe leg injury and they couldn’t have been less accommodating. They paraded us up and down steps past empty table after table which were “reserved” even though we had a reservation also. They finally sat us in the last table in the restaurant. The room smelled like a college bar with old alcohol and we didn’t even get our coffee for 30+ minutes. Do not come here.
The short rib was way too salty.
The veggie burgers were amazing as well as the sweet potato fries.
Wine overpriced for the winery it’s from.
Made reservations for 8:30, wasn't seated til 9:05. We we seated indoors when we specifically asked to sit outdoors in our reservation (and there were two open tables outdoors). I had to find the host to ask to be moved outside, which was met with a heavy sigh a wait game and then seated. Our waiter literally had us waiting long periods of time between courses, was extremely uncordial (though he was super nice to the couple behind us - go figure). It took an additional 15 minutes from asking for the check to actually receiving the check.
The food was very mediocre (the menu describes them amazingly, but the final product was underwhelming) and bland. The salmon was very fishy, the fried chicken literally tasted like plain breaded Trader Joe chicken tenders, the olive oil cake was dry, and the s'mores literally just looked and tasted like deconstructed Rocky road ice cream and tasted like such.
Was a memorable experience, only in the fact that I will remember not to visit this restaurant again.
It was not as good as the first time we went. We tried Dine L.A. menu and the food was just ok. The dessert was not good. Regular menu had better food.
So good the salads were to die for. Little noisy but what do you expect would def go back
Second time here for Dine LA week. 3 courses for $29, can't beat the price. Grilled peach as starter was very good, refreshing in a summer night. Entree and desert were only okay, fries was very good tho. I finished a bucket all by myself.
Nina took wonderful care of us and reminded us when Taste was a small restaurant, years ago. Now it’s large and busy but the menu is still excellent and the old standbys are still there! Fun place.
Our server was excellent but food was just okay.
Great fried chicken sandwich. Awesome sweet potato fries. Burrata each salad and lobster Benedict with a non happy hour and a Sunday happy hour beer. Boont amber. All great we will be back!
Love Taste on Melrose! It’s always consistent - great food, great service, great options!
Not good food at all dishes were not tasteful. Service was bad.
Family visiting from out of country... We had a very nice family dinner. Everyone was helpful and very accommodating. We got dessert sent to our table at the end of the dinner. Very nice gesture. I love Taste!!!!! I like to support my neighborhood business. I come to Taste often and it never disappointed me,
This place never disappoints. It is fine casual dining. It’s in a great area with lots of stores nearby and good people watching.
We sat outside on the patio and they really need to invest in a citronella candle for the flies. Horrible!
Great service, food & location. What more can you ask for in LA!
Delicious, we had two orders of grilled artichokes they were so good, I had chicken Paillard , so good...
Very bad and slow service
Loved the food and the service. Both locations are fantastic!
It was my second time at Taste and I reconfirmed my initial experience - the food has no flavor. And it lacks salt big time, which normally enhances flavor. I went for dine la this time and both the appetizer and entree were super boring to say the least. The dessert though!!! It was a deconstructed graham cracker and it was fantastic.
Service was meh. But it was dine la so I understand . Though they weren’t that busy. Overall, great location, great on paper, needs spices and salt! So the food execution is extremely cautious. If you are into food, try another place.
Delicious food, great service and super cool ambiance
The food was great and we really appreciated the atmosphere and service. Would highly recommend it!
We went here for lunch. because of yelp having great reviews! We will never go back, it took us waiting 15 min when we got to our table , then we had to ask to be waited on. Waiter was not overly friendly nor the rest of the staff. Very snooty and we are paying customers just like everyone else.
We then went to Sur for dinner later and it blew Taste of Melrose AWAY! Excellent in food and service!
First time to Taste and we loved it! We were seated in the bar area which was really cool- great ambiance, cool crowd and cool in general during this LA heat wave! We started with a Bloody Mary and cinnamon bun which was to die for!! So good! Food was awesome- my friend had the Avocado Toast and I had the Hole in One- I don’t think that was the actual name!! Anyway, it was a poached egg nestled in brioche toast w mushrooms and sauce. Yummy!! I will be back for sure!!
Terrible service. It took 20 minutes after we sat down to even get water. In addition, when we got our food, my friend received a dish completely different than what she ordered. Like not even close.... so not sure how that happened. There were also flies everywhere which was pretty gross and distracting.
I am never disappointed. The food is always amazing and the service is stellar! Everyone I take to Taste on Melrose is so surprised they have never been here. I am too, because who wouldn't want to know about Taste. It is every bit correct in the name "Taste"! I love it and have been going since it opened its doors. If you haven't been you must go~!
