The food is just ok not bad but not great feels like some of it it frozen and just being heated at the kitchen
Delicious food. Loud traffic noise on the patio. Attentive service.
Kobe meatballs are amazing
Wonderful Bar scene... Monica was a wonderful bartender and took great care of our group. The artichoke was wonderful and the vanilla stout was refreshing.
I like the ambiance of this place, but unfortunately the food isn't worth the atmosphere. It takes forever to get your food, when you do its either cold or doesn't taste very good. If you are interested in going there for Drinks, I would recommend! Otherwise I would pass
Outstanding food and service Adoolfus was great. Food special as aleays
Since the prix fixe dinner was so good last time, I had another go at it. This time, beet salad instead of mushroom, truffle mac & cheese. Well, no contest. I love me some beet salad but this one was disappointingly uninteresting, taste-wise -- still, at least it was fresh, good quality, nicely presented, and healthy. I was quite happy with my choice of main, though, the penne checca. Shrimp was an option but I chose to have it with chicken, which was nicely cooked, as was the brown rice pasta; and the sauce was delicious!
Overpriced with tiny portions. Not worth it.
Love this small gem in West Hollywood with great food and reasonable prices.
Birthday dinner. Great night
Food and drinks were amazing
very loud, extremely crammed and uncomfortable, mediocre food
The service here is horrible.
First, My date and I got seated inside next to a huge, rowdy group so we asked to move. The host quickly stated that the entire restaurant is just as loud so we unwillingly decided to stay in our seats.
Second, our waiter. I was taking my boyfriend out to celebrate a promotion he's been working towards for years. We were excited to head out to Melrose and enjoy great food, company, and wine. It was our first time here so we asked (LITERALLY) one question about the menu: Is the Kobe Beef Meatballs Pasta popular? The waiter proceeded to give us a huge scoff and replied " uh. HA. yeah." After that extremely rude scoff and glare, I couldn't enjoy the rest of my time here.
I rarely write bad reviews, but I felt so embarrassed that I planned a nice dinner at Taste where my boyfriend would be unnecessarily scoffed at before we even got our water. Luckily, he's nice and politely ordered our food and drinks soon after.
I won't be coming back here.
It had been a while. So I was glad to be back to discover that their truffle, mushroom mac n' cheese is still awesome; they now have a pix fixe dinner that's delish and a great value; and their staff is as gracious and friendly as I remembered. Special props to Morgan, my server, who was about as delightful as a human being can be. I shall be returning more often.
I have been to Taste on Melrose dozens of times and usually write positive reviews. Unfortunately, I feel like waiter service is very hit or miss. And when I say hit or miss, I mean both extremes. Some of the team is absolutely fantastic with a perky attitude constantly checking up on you and making you feel like you are at home. Others barely acknowledge you. We almost left before ordering anything on our last visit since we hadn't been greeted by our server after being seated for 15 minutes. The slowness continued the rest of the night. And whenever she came to check up, it was basically her passing us by in a rush asking if everything was okay. Half the tables were empty so it was not an issue of it being a crowded night. This isn't the first time we've had lousy service but it is becoming more regular of an issue.
Celebrated passing my State Board MFT License Exam with my honey.
Fantastic brunch spot. We sat in the Atrium. Tons of natural light. Food was spot on. Shared the brioche french toast with banana almond and Nutella with the table as an appetizer. I had the breakfast burger. Only thing wrong, egg was over cooked. But really good. They have a pick two course brunch special to save a little money. Drinks were perfect. Carafe of mimosa for $26 or bottomless for $21 with purchase of an entree. I also have a few make and bake which is a bacon and maple infused old fashioned basically. Spicy Bloody Mary—good. Not great. Super think mix-but was homemade and super weak skewer of lime, olive and peppercini. Stack of celery as well.
There are tons of wonderful options here and will look forward to going again.
Overall I had a good experience! The food was phenomenal and service was good. There’s a variety to choose from on the menu. Would recommend for a good brunch in the area.
Cold eggs, cold potatoes. When I sent it back it was barely a little warmer and not fresh. (Microwave) The server never came once to check on us. She was just sitting around chatting with co workers. Very disappointing
Great, as always!
Great. All around
CHicken Paillard was excellent. Our server was very professional as well as very friendly.
Our server had a terrible attitude from the start. His questions and his answers were dripping with disdain. He paid scant attention to us and then left in the middle of the meal without a word. We only knew because we saw him walk out the door with coat & bag. Had we not seen him leave, we would have been stranded for much longer waiting for him to appear. As it was, we asked the bartender to help and he graciously obliged.
On our way out, we let the Floor Manger know we thought it was odd that our server left without saying anything or letting us know who would be attending to us. He seemed flummoxed and offered a lack luster apology.
The shame of it all is that the food was good (B+/A-) and we would be raving about the experience had the service been minimally acceptable.
Excellent food as always Server was friendly and courteous. A great spot for casual dining, date,
Wish i could have loved it because it is beautiful. Food was really only fair and the kitchen was so slow it was pathetic. Everyone kept apologizing and it wasn’t that crowded. Pretty disappointing actually
We had multiple reservations and weren't able to be seated by each other, but they did their bestto accommodate us.
Awesome experience. Everyone was super pleasant and accommodating. Food was delicious.
4 course prizes fixe menu for Valentine’s Day. All dishes were great but time took a little longer.
Bad service, very disorganized, un attentive wait staff
Food was delicious. Staff was very nice!
It was a great dinner celebrating Valentines Day with my partner. The meal was very enjoyable.
Great service and very attentive server. Quiet evening and perfect for the business dinner I had.
The food was wonderfully tasty and atmosphere was a real delight.
The food is not as good as it once was. And many of the ingredients are ore mixed so if you can’t eat one ingredient it very much limits your choices.
Also having a bar but a limited bar menu for lunch makes no sense to me.
I've frequented this restaurant about 3-4 times last year, and I always enjoy the brunch menu along with bottomless mimosa's so naturally, I thought it would be a good experience to share this place with friends for my birthday. The food and drinks were great as usual however, I would have preferred to have a different waitress. I'm not sure if she may have been overwhelmed by the other large group she was serving, but when she came back to our table she seemed flustered. Another guest of my party asked to join in for the bottomless mimosa but we were quickly told "No" because this person had not purchased an entree. We then requested bottomless mimosa for another guest who had purchased an entree and our waitress kept insisting that if she brought out the carafe, the person with the entree had to drink it. Almost as if she was implying that we were trying to pull the wool over her eyes. After acknowledging that we understood she then involved a manager who reiterated what she had already mentioned. It became even more uncomfortable after this whole situation when I inquired about when the bottomless drinks were over, as she came back to the table twice and passive-aggressively answered, "Let me check" as if she was unfamiliar with the restaurant policy. It was definitely a shock to me as this restaurant usually has remarkable service, and with almost an entire table ordering multiple entrees and bottomless drinks, I would have expected a bit more decorum considering the amount of money we were spending. Overall, I enjoyed celebrating my birthday but I would have preferred to have Jessica as my server, as she has served me twice in the past and her service is always outstanding.
Love the back patio on a nice summery night! Excellent service and healthy menu !
Great ambiance for celebrating my birthday! The staff even brought me a Happy Birthday card!
Food was good. Service not so much. Ordered an appetizer. It can with dinner. ?? Really??
Service was horrible waited to get 2 nd drink. Waited for cheese and rd pepper waited for check the worst
It was the waitress first day. Still no excuse
