I order or visit this restaurant frequently, but they are, unfortunately, inconsistent. Took a friend out for their birthday - they were kind enough to bring cake and sing. The cake was very cold and hard to eat with a fork. The lamb was so tough we couldn’t cut it with the knife on the table. Chicken in the chicken korma was pink inside. Just a little disappointed this time.
Every time we go here the food is outstanding. Some of the best Indian food I have eaten. We come here pretty frequently and will keep coming. It would be even better if the service improved. Often wait a long time for drinks and sometimes for food to come to the table.
I LOVE the food @ Taste of India. On weekends there is a buffet that is fantastic. Highly recommend. Owner and staff are very friendly. Great place
The food is actually amazing. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the crab meat is imitation- I am not a fan of that and would not have ordered the seafood/crab masala if the menu hadn't concealed this. The shrimp were outstanding. The restaurant and bathrooms are beautiful. My vegan boyfriend was super thrilled with all that was available to him and he wants to go back frequently. Best vegetable Samosas we have ever had. The service could use improvement- granted they were busy, but they could have acknowledged us instead of ignoring us for 15 minutes in the beginning and while everyone else was eating but us. However, we will definitely be going back, and hopefully soon.
Love taste of India!! Ordered two new special items that were fantastic. The vegetable balls in coconut curry sauce and chicken in a ground cashew, ginger and garlic sauce that was perfect for my daughters.
Staff is amazing and incredible prices for what you get. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food for a great price...perfect for sharing
great food, great service. They don't disappoint. Great for girls night or a date night
Very nice dinner experience.
Food is good.
I will visit again.
We often go and live taste of India II. Ordered a special we never had before that was excellent. The sweet and sour cauliflower. Mixed vegetables were deliciously spiced and naan bread warm and buttery. We all love the flax crackers and dips they put on the table to start.
What a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary. The food at Taste of India is consistently great. We are long time customers.
Great fresh food and fantastic value!!! Best Indian on the Island.
Delicious food. Very clean. Always consistent. Great neighborhood restaurant.
It took forever for us to get our bread when we were seated way before many others who did. One of the waiters kept staring at my friend which made her uncomfortable for a while. The food tasted amazing though.
Expected authentic Indian food but was disappointed. Ordered the meat platters but the chicken was tasteless . The shrimp was also not worth $25 ! Again no flavor. This place probably caters more to the Non Indian crowd. Only thing we really liked was the kachori chaat! Nice, fresh, amazing!
Lovely place. Quiet atmosphere. delicious food. Never disappointed...
Taste of India II is the best Indian Restaurant on Staten Island. The restaurant excels in every in every area, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for everyone! 10 out of 10.
We love this restaurant as food and service never disappoint. Good job, please keep it up!
This was my second visit to Taste of India II. On my first visit, I ordered my favorite dish, Lamb Kurma and found it to be one of the best I ever had. On this visit, I ordered Lamb Vindaloo but found it to be too vinegary. It was also very hot (spicy), but that's my fault for not specifying to the waiter to tone it down when he asked my preference. My dinner companions all enjoyed their dishes which were various curries and kurmas. We also had appetizers of samosa and vegetable fritters which were excellent. They also have a wide selection of Indian breads.
Food was great; awesome service
First time trying Indian cuisine and was pleasantly surprised. Food and drink menu were great! The service was good they didn't take long to serve and didn't rush you out. Beautiful ambiance.
Taste Of India II is exactly what you're looking for when Indian food is what you're craving.....friendly, attentive staff, and delicious, spicy food.....we had a wonderful dinner!!
Great food. Nice decor. Low lit. Decent prices.
The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. The décor, well appointed and upscale. The service nor the food left anything to be desired. I would recommend this restaurant to others.
Taste of India did not disappoint.
Went there solely because of a gift card given for my birthday. First time eating Indian food and it was delish. The waiters are super attentive and there is no waiting for a refill on a beer or a glass of water. Our meals were superb from appetizer to entree. Very good decor. Restroom was spotless.
Place was crowded for a Saturday night at 545. We had a reservation and were seated immediately.
Will be back to try some new dishes soon.
Highly recommend from this first meal though. Impressed.
Always happy here, the special eggplant and potato dish was fantastic!
It was a nice atmospher, pleasant decor and quite . Food was ok. Would like have more choices of vegetables: string beans, eggplants, squash. If there will be more choices, we will come more often . Thank you for your service . Elena
Amazing food, amazing service. Reminded me of a gem you'd find in the city. Definitely worth a try.
I was very pleasantly surprised when i finally experienced this establishment which has been in business for 26 years. To have a full house on a Wednesday evening certainly made me feel confident.
The staff was friendly, the ambience perfect and the food delightful! Sampled across the board dishes and was pleased with the freshness and flair of every one.
I will certainly make this restaurant part of my culinary repertoire.
First I was impressed with the hosts, dinning area and decorations. A few minutes later my friends expressed the same feeling. The way food was served and represented was ultimately professional. All food and beverages were tasty with no single flaw. Thanks Taste of India II for making our evening an outstanding one and left a mark on us. Definitely will come again.
Consistently good Indian food, best I've had on Staten Island. Excellent bar, friendly service, reasonably priced.
Best Indian food around. Solid restaurant, staff is friendly and helpful.
It is great place . Food is delicious and fresh. Service also nice .
Went to the restaurant on a Sunday - perhaps they "count on" people ordering the Brunch Buffet and are not really geared to folks ordering off of the menu. Service was not attentive - for example, it took 15 min. for the soup to arrive. The wait staff did not return to check if everything was satisfactory.
The entree prices are somewhat higher than most other Indian restaurants charge for the same item. Perhaps the higher charge is related to the decor/environment of the restaurant. The quality of the entree does not warrant a higher charge, nor does the quantity. Both are consistent with other places.
Parking is also very difficult to obtain.
Had a great dinner at Taste of India, love the cracker bread and Indian dips they give on the table. Chickpeas and potato, samosas and all the traditional Indian fare tasty and services polite and attentive.
Excellent service and delicious food.
We have been dining at Taste of India for over 25 years. The food is always perfect and delicious, and the service is always excellent.
This resturant the taste of India, is very interesting, it takes you to another world, with different cultures and decor , with very good quality food and service! We never had Indian food before, but the servers explained each different dish to us and helped us decide what was right for us, we really enjoyed everything and would return another time for a meal and more!
Another great meal here - this time had the veggie fritters which were delish, great warm naan and yummy chickpea masala. Will be back.
The attendees at the party were my ex boss , since she retired the interim Chair person she recommended, personal assistant/secretary to both these ladies and my fellow who became the attending at the same institution and myself. They are great friends of mine and I am so proud to call them friends.
I requested for Merlot, my ex-boss asked for Pinogrigio, Chair (she is the most suitable candidate-so I stopped calling her interim in my mind, I wish she will continue as Chair too) and attending ordered mango lassi and secretary ordered coca cola. Every thing was delicious.
I have ordered appetizers (they allowed me because I was only Indian there).I have ordered
kachori, fish pakora, spinach pakora, vegeterian tikka with spinach and chick peas.
Every thing was delicious
We ordered mixed tandoori grill, salmon fish tikka X2, malabar fish curry, alu-spinach,,vegetable biryani, chicken biryani, nan, and raita. Every thing was superb except
malabar fish curry which was felt to be spicy hot .
Another thing delicious was the talk that transpired between us .And very thought of visiting a retired friend (me) is the most delicious thing of all.

The food here was just ok. I would have preferred more choice on the menu and a friendlier staff. As I said good but not the best I ever had
