First time visit. Restaurant inside is nice but still looks like the mexican restaurant that was there previously. Staff was friendly and we were seated quickly. I ordered the waffle and chicken. The waffle was hard and the chicken was cold. It made me think that the food was previously prepared and was sitting in the kitchen. My wife ordered ham and cheese sandwich that she really liked although we could not find the ham on it. We will return to try it again. Everyone else recommends this restaurant so we will try it again.
I have visited all other TOB locations in the Cincy area. This one was nowhere near the caliber experience of the other locations. This new location took over the old Abuelos in crestview hills, and aside from a couple of freshly painted walls and the change out of some artwork the building was unchanged. The complete lack of ambiance and disregard for the other locations aesthetic, made it feel like a B-rate version. The service was far from stellar, and the food was anything but fresh. The signature frites were lukewarm and tasted like they'd been fried hours before our arrival. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Although I realize the horrible experience was a direct result of the lackluster location, I'm not sure I'll be anxious to revisit any of the other TOBs in the city any time soon. I absolutely recommend staying as far away from the Crestview Hills Taste of Belgium as you possibly can.
Salads and drinks need to be served before the main course. The side salad came at the same time as the meal for my order. My wife had the main course, plus her small salad on the same plate! A few minutes later, we got our glasses of sangria, which we had ordered a number of minutes before our meal. Strange!
That said, the food was tasty, well cooked, and had generous portions. Our server was VERY attentive, friendly, and helpful.
I suspect that some of the issues in timing of the courses was due to a combination of short staffing and Covid re-starting. We dined in, which was a nice change!
We w ere there for my mother's birthday 96 and she couldn't have been more pleased
Friends time together—-food wasn’t as good as normal—seemed rushed
Really excellent mussels. Every kind we have tried have been great.
Food and staff were awesome.
Goeta had a liver taste. Serve Gliers in Covington.
I order my eggs over easy but I didn’t think that the white of the egg would still be runny.
Waffles, poutine, and coffee were very good! Would definitely order those items again.
Had a great dinner only thing were out of mussels on a Friday. Seemed odd to me.
Very slow service..not enough staff
There waffles amazing and their food is great especially the brunch burger.
I love ToB... we go whenever we are in the area. That said, the food isn't quite as good as it used to be. For example, the Brussel sprouts used to be amazing and we'd talk about them and try to replicate them at home. This time, they were just good but not amazing. The service was alright, a little to casual. Plopping plates on the table and not removing the used ones was odd. Not noticing we needed more coffee and then forgetting when we asked. Trips to get coffee or condiments were strangely long ... why are they all the way back in the kitchen? This was a new location for us and we really liked the setting and the ambiance. We will definitely be back... hoping things are back to usual level of excellence then!
Waffles were cold and dense.. obviously not fresh and they were microwaved...also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich..chicken was tough.. not freshly cooked either. Guest with me had an apple core as part of her apple, Gouda ham sandwich.. also requested the soup of the day. The server came back and said there was no soup in this restaurant because it was not delivered today. She explained that food was prepped somewhere in Cincinnati and brought in.. server was ok .. you could tell she was young and new at serving. She was trying hard. She definitely will improve with experience. Atmosphere is a neat place but will not come back due to lack of freshness and disappointment in quality and deliciousness of the food.
Everything was great! It was my husbands first time there and he loved it! Trent was great! Definitely would ask for him the next time we come in 👍🏼
Great brunch option, outside dining covered available.
Portions for salads were good. Entree portions were a bit small.
We were there for the first time dining out on a Monday night, not that crowded. The hostess had a mask on and we asked about masks as there was nothing on the door. We were told that if vaccinated guests did not have to wear a mask.
Most of the servers had masks on. James our server had his mask apparently covering his beard, as we could see his nose and mouth. The food was just OK, we had always been pleased at the Taste of Belgium at Rookwood. There was a real, lack of friendliness, maybe they are just working out the kinks after being closed for awhile.
Love TOB and have eaten at several other locations for years. Sadly, Crestview falls very short of the standard of what I have come to expect. Food was sub par at best and the waffles were NOT fresh and hard as a rock. Server was nice, but not well trained. No cohesive attire among the staff like at Rookwood. Sloppy. Wish they would have put more thought into the décor rather than rushing into an old Mexican restaurant and dropping in some large picnic style tables. Just loud and cold. Server did try to make right for the bad waffles which was appreciated.
First time dining here. Met a couple of old friends who had never been here either. We all agreed we would come again to try other menu items. Only one thing I wasn’t impressed with - got an iced mocha that was just meh. Next time I’ll bring my Starbucks with me.
Who wants a hard waffle? Or a dry biscuit? For the prices I was very disappointed in the food. I had scrambled eggs, a biscuit, a side of ghoetta and none of it had ANY flavor whatsoever and like I said, the biscuit and waffle were so hard they were difficult to eat. Not sure what everyone raves about, the coffee was good I guess.
Very very busy (which was fine), they offered to seat us on an outside patio that was supposed to be closed (also fine).
Ordered pretty quickly but the food took a while and it took even longer to get the check (couldn’t leave for a long time).
Restroom was a mess! Out of TP in all stalls and no paper towels to dry your hands after washing your hands.
everthing was great except for the seating. We were outside. The tables were too close together. We had trouble sitting down. Also, the tables were not level. I was concerned we would spill our drinks. But the food and service were great.
Restaurant was WAY TOO LOUD. Food overpriced for quantity & quality
Great place for something different to eat. Excellent food and a great variety of choices.
60 minute wait just for the food. Awful service. Food was not good. The other locations are much better. Would never go to Crestview again.
Mother’s Day long wait. It took over a hour from the time we ordered to get our food. We should have eaten prior to our brunch.
We didn’t have a good experience. The staff seemed overwhelmed however there were more staff visible than most restaurants and were not seated at full capacity. The manager was awesome and made things right. We will give them another try. We want them to succeed in their new space!
It was a busy day due to Mother's Day. Makayla was a great server.
Place needs updated. It is still the old mexican place.
We went for an “early Mother’s Day” to avoid crowds. Outside dining was pleasant but a little loud. Our entrees were wonderful: mushroom galette, chicken gravy biscuits, veggie burger. The location is close to home, so we’ll be back!
Had reservations for 5 requested table with chairs tried to sit us at 4 top then picnic table. Food was cold had no American beers and dont take cash. Won't go again very overpriced!!!
The food was delicious and Brayden, our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions. The whole staff were helpful and busy at all times helping diners or other wait staff. We will return
Service was exceptional. Was offered several samples of beers without asking just to try as well as some recommendations. Really appreciated the extra effort.
Our food was delicious. The service was incredible. Can’t wait to go back.
Came in for Mother’s Day. Due to graduation of local college they were short staffed. They hustled and communicated to us the challenges. The food was outstanding and worth a little extra wait.
Great service, food was excellent. A little pricey and the ambiance I’m sure will be much better when they remove all the crazy Covid stuff.
I never understood the whole chicken and waffles thing. Now I totally get it. Very good!!
Love the place and food, but it's quite noisy. Too much space left open in the middle of the large room. Server was great with my group.
