Taste at the Palisades Ratings and Reviews
The staff was so friendly and accommodating. When the waitress was busy, someone else helped out. Easy access for walkers and wheelchairs. This is a plus if someone in your party is handicapped. Prices are reasonable. Food fresh and delicious. Would go more often, but a long drive from my house.
The food is absolutely delicious! There were 5 of is dining and everyone loved their meals ! Chicken tortilla soup really yummy and Thai lettuce wraps super flavorful. End your meal with the key like pie i....homemade and sooo good. Great decor and friendly service.
Sercvice is horribly slow. Wait staff doesn’t seem to care. Waited over 10 minutes before we saw a waiter. Waited another 20 minutes for coffee and then had to ask again. Coffee finally delivered by busboy waited another 20 minutes for food after having to ask when it would arrive. Never going back.
The ambiance was nice and looked promising. I didn't rate the food that high because, although it tasted really good, it was very skimpy on the key ingredients. My husband had chicken tortilla soup with 3 small pieces of chicken. I had the seafood linguini with 3 shrimp and 3 small bites of salmon. 3 seems to be the word for the night. Pasta does not cost that much to make so they could have easily given you a larger bowl. For the price, I felt they were very chinsy on the portions. The wine was good and we were happy that we were not that hungry. They should up their game.
This is the second time I have eaten at this restaurant and the service hasn't improved. I was disappointed that we waited so long for everything. And it wasn't even busy. There was five of us and then a table of two next to us. That was all that was in the restaurant. They do have seating outside and I think there were a few tables that had people dining but seriously? I doubt I will go back again. It's just too slow for my tastes. (no pun intended)
I'm always amazed with the consistent delicious food. The salmon, pork chops, and banana bread pudding never disappoint. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and attentive, some more so than others: we liked or waitress (Mary) last time more than this time; the waiter didn't even introduce himself so we don't know his name.
My husband and I came with our 3.5 month old daughter for dinner and the hostess was nice enough to place us where there was space for us to park our stroller next to us. The ambiance was friendly as my husband and I had to take turns walking our daughter around outside and people just loved seeing her. We've been here for lunch before, and dinner was just as good an experience.
We plan on coming back again.
I had both lunch and dinner on Sunday. Lunch was delicious. Dinner was a frustrating experience. Despite having a reservation, it took twenty minutes before a server approached. This was on the patio, so not an enormous area to survey. Dessert took another 20 minutes AFTER the check had been presented. Diners that arrived after me were long gone and the server approaches and asks how things are. Well, still waiting for the dessert... There were few left on the patio and they had turned off the heaters.
We visited for the Dine LA opportunity but it wasn't necessary as they have a similar option on their regular menu. It's a nice touch. Ingredients on their tasting menu overlapped which made it more difficult to choose from the limited menu but the choices of poke, breaded pork cutlet and chocolate bread pudding were good. Portion sizes were not huge....dessert seemed to be a half portion though in hindsight, it was better to not over-indulge in dessert. House wine was $7 with the fixed price 3 course meal. Not a bad deal.
Since an expanded bar has been added to the front part of the restaurant, the noise level was terrible. Sitting across from and next to the two friends I had dinner with made conversation really tough. We love the place and the food, but may not return because of the noise level.
Enjoyed this neighborhood favorite where there is now a bigger bar and more room inside the restaurant. Dog friendly patio too. Cast Iron chicken was a hit and they have a great chopped salad big enough for two. Pizza crust could be improved -- it was more like a flatbread but everything else spot on.
The seasonal salad with grilled shrimp was excellent as was the tortilla soup. My husband and I both had the same thing. We split a desert. The pre-fix menu provides especially good value and includes reduced prices on glasses of wine. We eat here often because the restaurant is in our neighborhood but it's worth a drive as well. We definitely will be back!
Loved, loved, loved Taste! Beet salad-delicious. Cast iron chicken was served hot and was moist and flavorful. My wife's salmon was perfection. For dessert, we had the key lime pie. The best we've had in the last 30 years. Our server, Pedro, was attentive and friendly. Taste was the perfection place to celebrate our anniversary.
I was surprised at the interior renovation. (I've been several times since they re-opened but ate outside.) We went for brunch to celebrate our 2yr anniversary. He had the breakfast burrito with the potatoes while I had the protein scramble with a salad. I liked that they had gluten-free toast as an option but was sad to learn they took the oatmeal off of the menu and were totally out of berries.
