Tartuca is a contemporary Italian restaurant whose sole intent is to offer the highest quality food, wine, and thoughtful hospitality in an energetic and fun dining environment. Powered by a grooving soundtrack, an exciting open kitchen, house-made pastas and focaccia, and an award-winning wine program, Tartuca is the only full-service, chef-driven restaurant on Mississippi Avenue, perfect for both special occasions or casual neighborhood drop-ins. Tartuca is located next door to Mississippi Studios and across the street from The 1905, making it a perfect destination for a pre or post-show meal. As always, the food and service at Tartuca is impeccable. I endeavor to take any of my gastronome friends here whenever able, it is always a delight to return and try some new special which never disappoints me.

Your wine list is excellent, the bruschetta quite good and the staff was professional and attentive. The problem was the rest of our meal. We noted that other diners came, ate and left while we were still waiting for our pasta. The wild boar pasta dish was a failure: the sauce tasted like pasta water until salt and some of the chili mixture were stirred in, the meat was stringy and hard to cut and lacking in flavor. The ricotta & spinach pasta was cool to touch, the pasta itself was quite thick (refrigerated Rana ravioli which we first discovered in France is much lighter), the morels were delightful but needed a more sauce. And dessert: we understand that sometimes sorbet does not set, but a lemon tart usually has a crust that is easily broken with a fork (this one was not) and a filling a bit firmer than melted whipped cream.

Awesome place! We had heard about this adorable place and drove all the way down from Seattle just to check it out, not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious. High recommend!

The food tasted so good and fresh. This is real farm-to-table food. The service was amazing, and the food variety was very good and creative. I have been here about three times, and the food is always delicious, healthy, and leaves a great taste in your mouth. We have Bucatini pasta, the Campanelle and the burrata with home made focaccia. All dishes were amazing. I loved their desserts and my family had the lemon tart and the huckleberry budino. The desserts were so fresh, not too sweet and to die for.

The meatball is a must have… and many, many more! I sat at the chef’s counter with a friend last night - love to watch the art in action - and had several starter dishes, cocktails, and of course pasta! Everything was timed perfectly, and the service was great even with a full restaurant. This place can be casual, romantic, or relaxing depending where you’re sat. I will definitely be returning!

I really love Tartuca! I’ve been a customer since they opened and have never ever been disappointed❗️ The staff are amazing! They really make your culinary adventure emotional! Turtuca ‘s concept is more of a share plate experience with wine, liquor, and mixed drink parings complimented with fresh local ingredients. Yet, even if not sharing … the experience is the same if not even more fulfilling! Moreover, during the week; great place for a business engagement. Good place to connect with clients. Shared,…. actually all dishes, are flavorful emotion and locally inspired . This is why Tartuca is one of the really unique restaurants in Portland. The pizzas are great too! To be honest…. Just visit! You won’t be disappointed. At the end of the day, Just go!!! Their menu does change since they use fresh local ingredients…. So come often‼️😊
