Tartine Bianco - Los Angeles
Fabulous food. Wonderful seasonings on each dish. Very worth the trip.
Two of us ordered the grilled cheese sandwiches and didn't like them at all. We thought the menu was somewhat limited as to side dishes, but did order the potato crisps and they were very salty and not great. We were disappointed also in the limited selection in the bakery. I recall the Tartine in SF having such a great array of baked goods.
Food and atmosphere were phenomenal. Great menu choices, going back for the roasted chicken next time.
I'd eaten at Tartne Manufactory in San Francisco, so was eagerly awaiting the opening of the same in Los Angeles. The Tartine family did not disappoint. We had a lovely lunch and yogurt and are looking forward to trying dinner. Of course bread and pastries are on the list too. It was fabulous food in a wonderful space.
The food was great but the hostess and service was so terrible it ruined the entire experience. There are amazing restaurants everywhere in LA that still believe in hospitality, this team doesn’t.
Only complaint is that you need to have mustard for the Patty Melt!!
The morning bun is worth the drive. Lunch was excellent. I'm surprised it wasn't more crowded.
As always Tartine Bianco nailed it. We loved every dish we had, the servers were attentive and you can’t beat the energy and atmosphere of the space. The bloody Mary’s are super spicy so be warned. Standout dishes were the gem lettuce salad, tomato Tartine and fried chicken sandwich. We also had an egg sandwich with spinach which was OK, but not as great as the last time we had the egg sandwich. And of course the bread plate with kefir butter which is a must. The bread is unreal. Kicking myself for not buying a loaf before I left.
The food was of terrible quality. The patty melt, supposedly the signature dish consisted of a tastless rubber like patty. Panzanella just OK. The egg sandwich filling was bland. The banana pie dessert was very bad.
The olive fizelle which at the S.F. Manufacture is to die for was substandard to say the least and even the croissants were not as good.
This place needs a lot of work!
THE BREAD is the focus here and luckily, everything else on the menu complements it well. Interesting wine and beverage list. Good overall food presentation and consistency.
Service at dinner is good ( not great), but it’s a casual place after all.
Service for brunch is weak though... maybe explainable as I would not go to Downtown LA on a Sunday morning to work either!
Wonderful service by the bartender "John"! He makes delicious drinks and was very attentive to us!
We were actually transferred to the sister restaurant Alameda Supper club since Tartine is not open for dinner anymore! The Alameda was nice with a casual atmosphere . Food was very good and the service was very fast and friendly.
Food and coffee was solid, our server was very friendly, and the space is beautiful.
Overall a nice place to grab brunch at the Row. We did have an issue with my wife’s food, but it was handled quickly and politely.
The noise level was not "energetic." It was LOUD. The food and the service were excellent, but if you want to have a quiet conversation (without having to yell to be heard which only adds to the noise), go elsewhere.
Brunch menu is bad. Avoid this day part.
Great food! Lots of options for veggie and meat eaters! Good location to walk around the shops after (or before).
Just a great lunch
Great food and service. Just such a shame that the Row DTLA complex is so quiet. It was kind of like a ghost town when we were there on a Sunday evening.
Really liked the food and service at Tartine. The portions were very generous and the menu was inventive. I'd recommend for brunch / lunch in the future - I believe they have stopped doing dinner service.
Great meal! Fresh ingredients with a bouquet of flavors....outstanding!
Me and my fiancé were celebrating our one year of living together. So we came to this restaurant and enjoyed some amazing food and great drinks and awesome service
Great for everyday dining business meal and friends get together! Food was great. Loved sitting outside. Very calm and cool vibe.
The location is quite unique，the decoration is stylish，the food is special！
Everything was delicious. Really amazing service and the atmosphere was upbeat. Loved it.
Fried chicken bun was really too salty to our liking.
Amazing overall experience!
This review is specifically for brunch on a Sunday, which was very disappointing. We ordered the smoked salmon tartine, which was fine; the quiche, which arrived at room-temp; and a side a bacon, which consisted of just 4 dinky extra cripsy pieces—not even hearty thick-cut slices like you might get at other establishments. Each of those items were just a little too small to be satisfying, and was overpriced for what you got. We also ordered 2 pastry items, which they forgot about because it had not arrived by the time we finished the other items. When we checked in with the server, she informed us that they were out of one of the pastries that we wanted (it was only 10:30am). The chocolate croissant that we ordered finally arrived, and it was utterly disappointing. It was not warm, it was not light, it seemed like it was 1, maybe even 2 days old. The service was slow and the servers were not attentive. I don't plan on coming back for brunch.
Great food- slower service, but made up for it when at table. Responsive-just needed to get their attention for service. Nice meal. Wish the menu would expand.
The bread and the pastries were the best part about the meal. I would come back just to order bread and butter.
The food was phenomenal and the drinks amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We spent a great evening at Tartine. Ambiance was perfect for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious and our server was very nice.
Food was fantastic but service was horrible. My friend and I got our wine right away but our husbands waited 20 minutes for cocktails. They had water to drink through appetizers. Service was very slow. 3 hours plus dinner and we had teens with us that had school the next day on a Sunday night which is why I made the resv early. Glad we did.
OUTRAGEOUS, they charge you $7 for three half slices of bread! The appetizers, hummus and ricotta cheese, do Not come with any bread or anything to spread it on! And the wine pour is not even close to 6oz!... at $14. The other entrees, tasted good, but not worth the drive to get to the location. Nothing outstanding, and too bread centric for the price.
The only thing worth going back for are the breads and pastries at the shop. I live in San Francisco and go to the original Tartine. The food there is tastier & reasonably priced.
Previous visits for lunch and dinner have been excellent.
Problem with service for brunch--coffee came a long time after meal was served, even after several waitstaff were reminded. I suspect we were forgotten somewhere.
Chicken was amazing.
Bread was fab.
Even the roasted veg that came with the chicken was finger lickin good.
The Row is awesome - best kept secret in LA!
Great food and service. Cocktails were especially good. Had a 3:45 pm reservation so the place was almost empty, not the most fun ambiance but meant we had attentive service. A bit pricey but tasty food and good for a special occasion.
Overall, a nice, pet friendly (patio) restaurant. The hostess (Sunday. Brunch) was very snobby and looked like she could care less, made us feel unwelcome. It left us with a negative first impression. Food-wise, we enjoyed the morning bun (5/5) coffee (3/5), little gem salad (3/5), egg sandwich (3/5), smoked salmon (4/5), and patty melt (4/5). Prices are a bit steep for what you get but the ambiance is relaxing and comfortable. Service is attentive and friendly. We will definitely return due to the pet friendly atmosphere and ample free (2 hrs validated) parking.
The eclectic ambiance combined with the casual servers create an experience that resembles visiting a "pressed off center" friend for a family style meal in an abandoned southern mansion. The food is sweet and savory. Every dish offered an unexpected burst of flavors that left you wondering, "how did they make this?" Living without ordering and consuming the cornbread is NOT advisable. One of LA's true gems.
Amazing food! Friendly service.
The chef Camden is so talented!!!
Everything was deeelicious😋
Menu was different from the one listed on this website. We went for the bone marrow and NY Strip steak to only be disappointed when our waitress said that the menu has been updated and no longer has these items.
