TARTINE & TARTELETTE
All of their entrees are homemade from fresh ingredients by Chef Jean Bechu, who after obtaining his professional cooking degree, worked in various gourmet restaurants and prepared meals for receptions in a large casino.
Axelle and Jean arrived to Naples, Florida after operating and development a restaurant in France for 6 years.
The cookery is the pleasure of others it is why they are committed and want to satisfy their clientele by offering a friendly welcome and innovative food that is always made from scratch with high quality ingredients, in a genuinely French way.
One of the worst restaurant I had dinner in. We were warned that the restaurant was going to close for the season and therefore it was "highly" recommended to go for the menu. We did that and boy... The gazpaccio was past due (to say the least), the pate was tasteless and the very "sophisticated" cod fish was a complete disaster: the fish was clearly a left over from the freezer (!), gave back a ton of water and the "beurre blanc" came clearly out of a jar (thank you for the handmade!!!). Then the desert... Ile flottante... egg white clearly warmed in microwave, English cream diluted by water.... How can the chef claim that he has been working in highly rated restaurants in France!!! Please remove the French flag and any reference to French cuisine: you are just giving a bad name to it. I am from France and I'll never come back to this mediocre place.
Excellent all around. Highly recommend it!
A real hidden gem! We love everything on the menu. Owners Axelle and Jean are so friendly and outgoing. Highly recommend.
Mediocre and underwhelming. This was a first visit and highly recommended by a friend, but we were quite disappointed. Food was under-cooked or over-cooked. One staff person for entire restaurant who was an amateur. Way overpriced. Will not return.
Very much enjoyed our meal . It was a quiet evening in June so we basically had a private meal. The pork dish, pate, onion soup were delicious. And the ole de flotant was authentic!!!
Our experience here was absolutely amazing. We had the Brie, onion soup, salad, angus steak, beef, and dessert sampler. Everything was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend trying this place out for yourself.
VERY expensive for what you get. The food was good, but not good enough to overcome the cost.
There is zero atmosphere; we expected something. No bar so you can’t relax before or after and have a drink.
Would not return because of the price and lack of ambiance.
Could not recommend this.
Very good French food , great chef, wonderful caring staff
Tartine and Tartelette is a lovely experience from beginning to end. It’s small and quiet and so nicely appointed. The tables are beautifully set. The servers are friendly, efficient, attentive, and knowledgeable. This comes from the top down! Axelle, the owner with her husband who is the Chef, is delightful, hardworking, smiley, and always gracious. Her husband, the Chef who we’ve only met once, is also gracious and delightful. And what a chef he is! As we said at the end of our dinner, you can’t get a better meal anywhere! And we’ve been to a lot of restaurants in a lot of places. If you’re in Naples, don’t miss Tartine and Tartelette!! It’s the best!
Excellent service, flavorful food, cozy atmosphere!
The food was fantastic-so very flavorful and unique The presentation was beautiful and the service was excellent. The waitress was happy to answer our questions about the food and its preparation. There were four guests in our party and we all ordered different appetizers, dinners and of course desserts. It was a
perfect evening and this is now our favorite restaurant in Naples. Everything was marvelous !!!!
Even though I indicated on Open Table that we had dairy and gluten allergies, nothing was done to substitute for those items. We just had to do without. The vegetables and fish were done in olive oil, which was acceptable. Almond or coconut milk could have been used for milk or cream. It was great being the first ones there to experience the surroundings, but as other guests arrived it became quite noisy and was hard to carry on a conversation with our friends.
My wife and I loved this place. It reminded us of the small family owned restaurants in Paris! The service was excellent, and food and wine prices fair. My opener was a deconstructed onion soup: the broth blended the onions, and the shredded cheese and croutons are added by the diner! I prefer the classic version with the cheese broiled on top, but the soup was so delicious it was equally good. My wife had gazpacho (French type?) that was very good but also blended rather than chunky. But the grouper entrees were unbelievably good! Accompanied by mussels and shrimp, the cream sauce was outstanding. Nothing better. Finally we had the special dessert, chocolate bread pudding, the goodness of which was amazing. Our French Chardonnay was a value as s bonus! What a great experience!
Our second dinner within a month of finding this gem. Outstanding in all respects.
Great presentation and taste really nice meal
I had the red snapper and it was somewhat dry. The veal in the cassoulet was dry,but good broth. Great bread , good escargot and duck pate was just okay.
We enjoyed the food so much we are cancelling another reservation elsewhere so that we can go back before we leave Naples!
Excellent authentic French cuisine in North Naples. Beef bourginaise, red fish, fish specialties all excellent, as is the starter French bread. Finished up with chocolate moulton cake and added a side scoop of ice cream which my wife and I split for a lovely evening out !
Really enjoyed food service and ambiance
Such an exquisite experience with fine food and superb service. Our favorite
Our entrees were expensive and mediocre. They sounded better when described, but were disappointing in reality.
Also the menu is very limited, which I guess is understandable given the small venue, maybe 40 seats, of which 14 were taken on our visit.
Service was very good, but the piped in music was a bit too intrusive.
The was a one and done visit.
Our first experience here and we were thoroughly satisfied. Every dish was outstanding. Excellent wine selection with reasonable prices. Experienced server who was very helpful describing some of the preparations.
The three of us had wonderful a meal, with awesome service! Our appetizers were exceptional. Loved the brie in a crust with honey! The seafood and Beef Bourguignon were absolutely delicious, with great sauces. We loved the deserts..profiteroles and Molten Chocolate Cake. This is a gem of a restaurant and we look forward to returning!
Authenticate French food across the board. Nice small quaint place with good selection of classic French. We started with cheese plate, great fresh French baguette bread, followed with wife having delicious beef bourganaise and I had tasty red fish. Worth the visit !
Great place and awesome
The ambiance is just okay, but the food and service are excellent. We will be going back for sure...
Reastaurant is small and intimate. The food was OK. My wife had the grouper and enjoyed it. I had the poulet normande and it was awful. Chicken was tough and the sauce too rich. Overall I was disappointed but will give them another try to see if it was just an off day.
The menu was varied, with choices for all. The server was attentive and friendly. Fresh bread is always a hit, and theirs was baked on the premises that day. Not what I was expecting in that it was both tastier and with more open texture than the traditional French baguette. Excellent. A wide range of desserts also. We shall return!
Lovely menu, outstanding service, affordable pricing. will go back again.
We were excited to try this restaurant for the first time. We liked the small, cozy atmosphere and the people were lovely. Unfortunately our food was really disappointing...all four dinners...including a Lobster filled ravioli appetizer @ $18 that was very fishy smelling and unappealing.
Wonderful food and people. Menu is not long but everything we had was very good. It is French cooking without pretensions and the need to be novel
The service plus the quality and taste of the meal was excellent.
A little hectic but it was Friday night in season. Food excellent and service pleasant.
We have been very pleased at each visit.
We ordered the chef specialties: sweetbreads for me and redfish for my date (spouse). I enjoyed the sweetbreads, but, the champagne sauce was too intensely flavored. The redfish was very mild and the accompanying sides were tasty. I started with the (french) onion soup which was delicious. The house white wine, Sauvignon Blanc, was crisp and flavorful. The crusty baguette was amazing! The restaurant was very quiet since we were dining early. My “date” found the setting romantic.
Very nice. Good food and excellent service. Best to call ahead or make reservations, small restaurant.
A lovely surprise in a very uninspiring shopping plaza.
There is a very nice balance of vegetables and a starch with each entree. The presentations are as beautiful to look at as delicious to eat.
Excellent, authentic French restaurant. We’ll be back.
Wonderful quiet atmosphere
