Excellent, we enjoyed it
Food was unremarkable. At 7pm, they were out of the fish special (restaurant wasn’t even a quarter full). Pasta was limp and sauces were runny. Of the four of us, everyone thought their meal was just okay, at best. The portion sizes for the main dishes varied in a peculiar fashion—I had a huge plate of pasta, and my friend’s was much smaller (both from entree section of menu). The cheesecake dessert was yummy, but the flourless chocolate cake was dry. Drinks were great, though.
Always a pleasure. Great food and drinks.
My husband and I were there to celebrate our anniversary. We have been to Tarry Lodge before many times. The food, as usual, was excellent and very authentically Italian. We have two things we would like to see added to the menu. First, they use to do a delicious liver patè as an appetizer. If I remember correctly, it was served on a board in a jar. It was delicious!! Second, I am always disappointed that they don't have a chocolate sauce to go with the gelato and some of the other desserts. They do have a carmel sauce which is fine but a chocolate sauce to me would be even better. WE will definitely return to Tarry Lodge.
My family and I love this restaurant so much, I actually crave it when I come home. However, this is now the third time we have gone (solely for the Branzino) and they were “out of it”. Either they need to order more Branzino so this is no longer an issue or just remove it from their menu so people don’t get their hopes up.
Our table was ready for us early, which was very convenient. The service and food was outstanding.
Food was delicious. This is my absolute favorite pizza in town and my husband had the pork chop which he said was the best he ever had. Juicy and served with healthy sides.our server( I think her name is Julia)
Was friendly and professional. She suggested a wonderful wine at a reasonable price.
Totally enjoyed and recommend.
delicious food, incredible service & a happy birthday!!!
Hostess was very rude
We eat there often -service is always good and food is always good and fresh
Greatest server in the whole. Town of westport.
Great food and drinks. Slow service despite the restaurant being almost empty. Loved that they had children’s flatware, but found it strange that they didn’t have child-appropriate cups.
My wife and I split and salad, fried oysters and a pasta dish. All were excellent especially the oysters and the pasta. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and the drinks were well done. Overall a very good experience. We will definitely be back.
A little bit full of themselves but better than the all out NYC snob thing they used to do. Our waitress this time was not very pleasant and absent a good deal of the time. I have no complaints about the quality of the food, always consistently good, best eggplant parm around. Food costs are in line but wine costs are a somewhat high. Tables are tight together and can be noisy at times. If you are OK with being a little annoyed to have good food then you will be fine.
I used to go to the original Tarry Lodge in Westchester when I was growing up...pizza is just as good as it was back then :)
I have a love hate relationship with Tarry Lodge. The service is always spot on, and the food never disappoints. We went to dinner on Valentine's Day, and were seated at a table that was in a "nook" at the back of the restaurant...nothing about the nook is appealing...it is a blank wall in an outdated color of khaki/ gold/brown..yuck. Very unappealing and the way the restaurant is set up - tables crammed into a long narrow space.., unfortunately, detracts from the delicious food and service. The space needs to be re-worked and refined so that there is a bit of privacy while dining, and the waiters can move freely. I wish the space wasn't so crammed...the wine list is also fabulous. I vote for sitting at the bar - no one is running into your chair!
Tarry Lodge never disappoints - creative menu, affable and efficient wait staff and excellent food. Continues to be the best Eggplant Parmesan on the face of the planet :-)
The food at Tarry Lodge is consistently excellent. We let the waiter know we were in a time crunch and he assured us we would be fine ordering pasta. The bolognese pasta and fungi trifoliate pasta were both delicious. The wine list is excellent and we even had time for an espresso!
Food was great, service was prompt, but it seemed that attitude of staff was not stellar. The staff at other restaurants we frequent are very enthusiastic, ready with a smile. That was not the case at this restaurant; instead they seemed to have the composure of folks who are ready (and waiting) for the shift to end. Still, we would go back to see if this was just an isolated incident or a trend.
Enjoyed Tarry Lodge very much. It was our second time here. Food was very good as was the wine. Service was excellent. We were catching up with friends and our waitress was very patient with us. Thanks for a great time!
We had Kimberly. She was fabulous. Had wonderful table.LOVED EVERYTHING
This was my third visit to Tarry Lodge in Westport. My friend and I shared the frisée salad and we both ordered the pasta with sausage entree. The entree was absolutely delicious and just the right portion. The salad was delicious as well. I only wish they would have split the salad for us in the kitchen as they knew we were sharing- doesn’t seem like a big ask.
This location is super convenient to rt 95 in Fairfield County, a great spot to meet.
I was delighted to find a nice crowd for a Monday night. Beautifully decorated. Being a fish lover, I was happy to see so many choices, but none of the fish were wild caught so that is a negative for me. Our original waitress signed off mid-way through, but the replacement was even better (thank you Darlene for turning our dessert into a birthday cake!). We will be back to eat those oysters again, though!
Birthday. Rude waitress and noisy, but food excellent
Wowww. Huge disappointment on so many different levels... Especially on the food!!! 😔
Great tasting food, innovative, had a delicious juicy pork chop and shoshito peppers, very fresh burrata cheese and so fresh prosciutto. The pasta entrees are on the small side. Could be more generous since the pastas are entrees, not appetizers. Great waitstaff, friendly and knowledgeable. When tables are all full, can be tight and noisy. Still love it for its consistent good food.
Awesome food but no space... Very tight between tables
Food and atmosphere were great as always. Spaghetti Carbonara was amazing. Gluten free options a plus. I would come back but the bartender must have been having a bad night. Not friendly at all.
Great pre-game show at the bar
Excellent service and fare
Easy access from I95
The eggplant parmigiana was amazing. I had the special blood orange martini and it was wonderful. I liked the ambiance and friendly staff.
Overall outstanding. Possibly the best Pork Chop I've ever had!
as always, a dependable, delicious option that we love - and they are so sweet with the kids and they love the food too!
Amazing authentic wood fired pizza. Thin crust pizza cooks in 90 seconds in wood fired brick pizza oven. Dough made on site. Eat at the pizza bar for the full experience!
We've been enjoying Christmas Eve here for many years! The garganelli pasta with wild mushrooms is so delicious, I order it almost every single visit but tried the octopus app and the salmon with rabe and roasted tomatoes and would definitely order this again. After all these years the food is still consistently good and the service always perfect!
When making the reservation for 3 on Open Table, only 9:30 was available. For 2 people we could get 8:45. I called to see if we could get any sooner for 3 people and the hostess said she could not seat us until 9:15 for 3 people. I arrived around 9:00 and saw that 1/2 the restaurant was empty!! Unless there was a huge party that had just left, there's no reason they couldn't have seated us.
This neighborhood gem never disapoints. Great service and fantastic food. We started with the octopus with Shishito Peppers, Lemon Confit and Squid Ink. I always love the Garganelli
with Funghi Trifolati and can't get enough. We ordered it for the table and shared. We also got the Branzino and Salmon- perfect! Ended it all with the Maple Mascarpone Cheesecake
with Almond Brittle and Vanilla Gelato.
Pizza has his ingredients but bottom is soggy. Not a place for pizza
Food and service, not what they used to be! Carbonara was our go-to for a few years, will not be be going to, anymore!
We had a terrific experience - food was delicious and our waiter Michael did a great job with service and our wine selection.
