About Tarry Lodge Westport
Joe Bastianich and Andy Nusser– the team behind Tarry Lodge in Port Chester and Michelin-starred Casa Mono– opened Tarry Lodge in Westport in the summer of 2011.
Tarry Lodge Enoteca Pizzeria features Nusser's signature hand-made pastas, exquisite fritti, and succulent meats cooked to order on our wood fired grill. The menu will have a distinct focus on local ingredients and we are taking full advantage of Westport's bustling farmer's market.
The centerpiece of the room is a Mugnaini pizza oven hand crafted by the famed Refratarri Valoriani, a family of artisans making pizza ovens since 1890. This fantastic oven will be surrounded by a dining counter, where guests can watch pizzaiolo Mario La Posta craft his world class pies.

Tarry Lodge Westport Ratings and Reviews
I have a love hate relationship with Tarry Lodge. The service is always spot on, and the food never disappoints. We went to dinner on Valentine's Day, and were seated at a table that was in a "nook" at the back of the restaurant...nothing about the nook is appealing...it is a blank wall in an outdated color of khaki/ gold/brown..yuck. Very unappealing and the way the restaurant is set up - tables crammed into a long narrow space.., unfortunately, detracts from the delicious food and service. The space needs to be re-worked and refined so that there is a bit of privacy while dining, and the waiters can move freely. I wish the space wasn't so crammed...the wine list is also fabulous. I vote for sitting at the bar - no one is running into your chair!
The food at Tarry Lodge is consistently excellent. We let the waiter know we were in a time crunch and he assured us we would be fine ordering pasta. The bolognese pasta and fungi trifoliate pasta were both delicious. The wine list is excellent and we even had time for an espresso!
Food was great, service was prompt, but it seemed that attitude of staff was not stellar. The staff at other restaurants we frequent are very enthusiastic, ready with a smile. That was not the case at this restaurant; instead they seemed to have the composure of folks who are ready (and waiting) for the shift to end. Still, we would go back to see if this was just an isolated incident or a trend.
This was my third visit to Tarry Lodge in Westport. My friend and I shared the frisée salad and we both ordered the pasta with sausage entree. The entree was absolutely delicious and just the right portion. The salad was delicious as well. I only wish they would have split the salad for us in the kitchen as they knew we were sharing- doesn’t seem like a big ask.
This location is super convenient to rt 95 in Fairfield County, a great spot to meet.
I was delighted to find a nice crowd for a Monday night. Beautifully decorated. Being a fish lover, I was happy to see so many choices, but none of the fish were wild caught so that is a negative for me. Our original waitress signed off mid-way through, but the replacement was even better (thank you Darlene for turning our dessert into a birthday cake!). We will be back to eat those oysters again, though!
Great tasting food, innovative, had a delicious juicy pork chop and shoshito peppers, very fresh burrata cheese and so fresh prosciutto. The pasta entrees are on the small side. Could be more generous since the pastas are entrees, not appetizers. Great waitstaff, friendly and knowledgeable. When tables are all full, can be tight and noisy. Still love it for its consistent good food.
We've been enjoying Christmas Eve here for many years! The garganelli pasta with wild mushrooms is so delicious, I order it almost every single visit but tried the octopus app and the salmon with rabe and roasted tomatoes and would definitely order this again. After all these years the food is still consistently good and the service always perfect!
When making the reservation for 3 on Open Table, only 9:30 was available. For 2 people we could get 8:45. I called to see if we could get any sooner for 3 people and the hostess said she could not seat us until 9:15 for 3 people. I arrived around 9:00 and saw that 1/2 the restaurant was empty!! Unless there was a huge party that had just left, there's no reason they couldn't have seated us.
This neighborhood gem never disapoints. Great service and fantastic food. We started with the octopus with Shishito Peppers, Lemon Confit and Squid Ink. I always love the Garganelli
with Funghi Trifolati and can't get enough. We ordered it for the table and shared. We also got the Branzino and Salmon- perfect! Ended it all with the Maple Mascarpone Cheesecake
with Almond Brittle and Vanilla Gelato.
This fell well below our previous experiences here. Food disappointing. Started w/Lucy’s Chopped Salad which was good although heavily overdressed. Downhill from there. Swordfish over cooked (maybe pre-cooked and re-warmed), and bland, served on an ill conceived pasta/greens bed that overpowered and worked against the fish. We were optimistic for the pork loin when it fell off the bone as it should but it proved to be tough, stringy, dry and tasteless. It was swimming in a huge pool of maple glazed butternut squash that could have been overkill except it was the only thing that made the pork edible. We blame ourselves for the mediocre food since we should have been smart enough to stick with the basics, pizza and pasta. But the espresso was the last straw. Part of the the appeal of espresso is the way it is served and I can assure the staff at TL a double is NOT served served in a full sized coffee cup with a gigantic spoon.
Great meal, great service. Really a perfect evening. The only thing I'd recommend is more vegetarian menu options that are easily made vegan... the veggie pizza sans cheese seems to be about it. Would be nice to have more options for non-meat/dairy eaters. Thanks!
This was our first visit to the Tarry Lodge as we continue to try restaurants in the area after moving here. From the outside the restaurant looks like a converted gas station but inside it's done very nicely. The dining room was fairly busy but got packed shortly after we arrived. The positives were the excellent food and the very good service. The negatives were that the food arrived very quickly and we felt rushed. I hate when you've barely finished your appetizer (which showed up 5 minutes after you ordered) and then the entree is already waiting for you. This quick turnaround is ok for a cheap pizza joint but the pricing here dictates a higher-end establishment so being rushed out the door in unacceptable. I also thought the wine prices were a bit over the top but I guess that is what you get with the star chef associated behind the restaurant. We will return but have learned the hard way to ask them to pace the courses better next time.
We have been to Tarry Lodge a few times now and it's always a great experience. It has a very comfortable, inviting and relaxing atmosphere and the service is excellent.
The food is consistently good with a nice wine list to compliment whatever you're eating.
I would recommend Tarry Lodge to friends and family and will definitely return.
