About Tarry Lodge Westport
Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich, Andy Nusser and Nancy Selzer– the team behind Tarry Lodge in Port Chester and Michelin-starred Casa Mono– opened Tarry Lodge in Westport in the summer of 2011.
Tarry Lodge Enoteca Pizzeria features Nusser's signature hand-made pastas, exquisite fritti, and succulent meats cooked to order on our wood fired grill. The menu will have a distinct focus on local ingredients and we are taking full advantage of Westport's bustling farmer's market.
The centerpiece of the room is a Mugnaini pizza oven hand crafted by the famed Refratarri Valoriani, a family of artisans making pizza ovens since 1890. This fantastic oven will be surrounded by a dining counter, where guests can watch pizzaiolo Mario La Posta craft his world class pies.

Tarry Lodge Westport Ratings and Reviews
This neighborhood gem never disapoints. Great service and fantastic food. We started with the octopus with Shishito Peppers, Lemon Confit and Squid Ink. I always love the Garganelli
with Funghi Trifolati and can't get enough. We ordered it for the table and shared. We also got the Branzino and Salmon- perfect! Ended it all with the Maple Mascarpone Cheesecake
with Almond Brittle and Vanilla Gelato.
This fell well below our previous experiences here. Food disappointing. Started w/Lucy’s Chopped Salad which was good although heavily overdressed. Downhill from there. Swordfish over cooked (maybe pre-cooked and re-warmed), and bland, served on an ill conceived pasta/greens bed that overpowered and worked against the fish. We were optimistic for the pork loin when it fell off the bone as it should but it proved to be tough, stringy, dry and tasteless. It was swimming in a huge pool of maple glazed butternut squash that could have been overkill except it was the only thing that made the pork edible. We blame ourselves for the mediocre food since we should have been smart enough to stick with the basics, pizza and pasta. But the espresso was the last straw. Part of the the appeal of espresso is the way it is served and I can assure the staff at TL a double is NOT served served in a full sized coffee cup with a gigantic spoon.
Great meal, great service. Really a perfect evening. The only thing I'd recommend is more vegetarian menu options that are easily made vegan... the veggie pizza sans cheese seems to be about it. Would be nice to have more options for non-meat/dairy eaters. Thanks!
This was our first visit to the Tarry Lodge as we continue to try restaurants in the area after moving here. From the outside the restaurant looks like a converted gas station but inside it's done very nicely. The dining room was fairly busy but got packed shortly after we arrived. The positives were the excellent food and the very good service. The negatives were that the food arrived very quickly and we felt rushed. I hate when you've barely finished your appetizer (which showed up 5 minutes after you ordered) and then the entree is already waiting for you. This quick turnaround is ok for a cheap pizza joint but the pricing here dictates a higher-end establishment so being rushed out the door in unacceptable. I also thought the wine prices were a bit over the top but I guess that is what you get with the star chef associated behind the restaurant. We will return but have learned the hard way to ask them to pace the courses better next time.
We have been to Tarry Lodge a few times now and it's always a great experience. It has a very comfortable, inviting and relaxing atmosphere and the service is excellent.
The food is consistently good with a nice wine list to compliment whatever you're eating.
I would recommend Tarry Lodge to friends and family and will definitely return.
Was our first time there .. loved it! our server, Romena (sp) WAS A W E S O M E .. she recommended a terrific wine!!! The food was great, wine, service, atmosphere all wonderful . HUGE wine selection .. couple larger tables that were seated after us were a bit loud but it's a Sat night and they were having fun so was not a problem at all. Have recommended it to a few folks already and can't wait to go back!!!
After a good number of good experiences we were shocked with the deterioration of food, service and management (or whomever is responsible for ingredient inventory). No goats cheese took market salad, goats cheese pizza and crazy ba$tard pasta off the menu - when we expressed dismay, shoulder shrug. Waitress failed to mention that all proceeds of bolognese was going to the Red Cross that night, as she did to other tables near us, but only after we'd ordered. Without our fave meals we felt somewhat deflated, service became off hand and having been offered more bread a busboy tried to take our plates and told us that they were short of that too and he'd have to ask manager.
We ordered 2 pasta dishes - both well seasoned and good. The 2 pizzas? Huge disappointment - totally soggy crust. Struggle to think that we will return unless we hear of big improvements! Spoke to manager as we left . Wonder if she took action?
Sat us at a table better suited for 4 people than 6 - we were crammed in. Manager said that's how they sit 6... With 2 - two tops turned sideways. Loud restaurant to start with and with the addition of 70's pop music blaring in was deafening. Food and service were good.
My wife and I had a date night for the first time in many months. We are so very happy we chose Tarry Lodge. The service and food were fantastic! The reccomendations of both food and wine by the staff was spot on. This is a high end establishment and the price is commensurate with such.
We will definately return for a special occasion and maybe even for apps and drink on a casual night.
We tried the restaurant because I am a big fan of some of the chefs who own it. We were very happy with the food , wine and service. We shared two apps, Hen in the Woods salad and octopus. Both were super tasty , nicely prepared and fresh. For our entree we shared three pastas. Again, all were really good but the mushroom was my fav and next the spicy sausage. I think the portions could be a little bigger but that is only because they are so delicious and we were sharing. All in all I loved it and would recommend it and go back again.
Have eaten here previously as well as the Port Chester location. Always excellent quality meal and superb service. A good value for the quality of the meal. It can be a little loud at times as the tables are a bit close in a smallish room. Consistently good. I would certainly recommend it.
The menu, although interesting, has been the same far too long. Needs daily specials to keep customers returning. The outside of the restaurant is a weed patch. Neglected, a poor first impression. Dirty parking lot. Not up to the Batali & Co. expected standards.
I am so glad we went to Tarry Lodge this past Saturday. Everything was DELICIOUS! We started with the fried oysters, octopus and market salad. All were excellent. Then went on to the truffle pizza & split the mushroom pasta and pasta with spicy sausage. The pasta was totally hand made and absolutely a highlight. I would recommend this place for anyone in the area! It was great!
We have always loved the Tarry Lodge in Port Chester so we thought we would give the Westport location a try. The Market Salad and Pork Belly were good appetizers, but two of our three pizzas (the goat cheese with pistachio and the white clam) were extremely salty and unenjoyable. We could not finish them, which was quite disappointing to us.
This is our third time at Tarry Lodge and all three times we have had a great experience. This visit, we had the same waitress as our second visit (about a month apart). She remembered us, remembered the wine we chose last visit and delivered a margarita pizza (gratis) as an appetizer. Such a lovely surprise---we felt so welcomed and our friends we brought to Tarry were so impressed.
Food is always good, service excellent, not rushed....we will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our meal and the experience. The waitstaff was very friendly, professional and attuned to our needs. When they recognized that I was unhappy with the table, they came by ten minutes later and accommodated us with a better table (unsolicited). The waitress helped with wine selection, which was spot on, and delivered the wine and food with appropriate timing and care. The decor and ambiance was comfortable and very much in our style. Our shared basic salad was delicious -- the goat cheese in the dressing added a unexpected and mysterious dimension to the salad. The mushroom pasta dish was outstanding. I didn't care for my spaghetti alla carbonara; I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, though, we would look forward to going to Tarry Lodge again and would recommend it.
