The food was delicious. It was a Friday night, I was a table of two and noticed that the servers would pay more attention to the larger tables. Other than that, the food was really delicious. My fav part was the Sommelier Martine who was very attentive to our wine bottle choices. I would go again on a weekday.
Outstanding meal of burrata w prosciutto & black truffles in oil, pasta w various mushrooms, and a pounded pork chop w arugula salad. Awesome bottle of wine recommended by our server. the entire meal was enhanced by an engaged server team who helped make our dinner special. thanks.
Terrific meal for 5 old friends We had great wine and an assortment of entrees, including the branzino, the gnocchi, and the pork chops. All were great. We had a special pizza and grilled octopus. The sides included the baked cauliflower, polenta, asparagus and salad. There were no disappointments. Tarry Lodge is a solid choice for a great meal.
Mark was our server and he was fantastic. Food was delicious.
My favorite restaurant of choice when dining with that special lady, with her infectious smile that breaks the dark, and lights the way. It is only to Tarry Lodge I know I can take her no place better. With ambiance, food, wine and service, second to none. It is never a matter of choice, only a matter of when
It was an excellent experience. The food, ambiance, and service were what you would expect from a top-tier restaurant, and the room was perfect for quiet conversation. Our server - Mark - did a great job.
always a great time
Dined at the bar on a Friday night which was a mistake because there was only one bartender responsible for a bar full of diners and servicing the restaurant. He did his best but needed at least one more bartender.
Joe Bastianich trying to save a few bucks on payroll while he’s taking selfies on social media. Tsk tsk.
Other than that the food was good. Guanciale pizza, as always, was a standout.
Without going into too much detail, I have to say I'm pretty much done with Tarry Lodge, Eataly and the other Bastianich/Batali establishments. Service was terrible (we were a party of 3 next to a "business" party of 12 - so you can guess who did and didn't receive the attention). These restaurants serve drinks in glasses that minimize the amount of alcohol - if they even have the type of alcohol you want. Ask for a cosmo? No, triplesec (Eataly doesn't even offer cranberry juice), ask for a Chardonnay, the closest thing is a Bastianich wine for $26 per glass. No thank you. Two of us ordered Branzino. I've never seen such small/thin branzino in my life - for $30 no less. We skipped dessert because we had to catch a train and couldn't get our waiter's attention for 10 minutes. Okay, I'm done... with this review and with Tarry Lodge.
Always have a very good gastro experience at the Tarry Lodge
Good service, quality of food was below quality of many other local restaurants.
Overrated restaurant with average food quality or originality. Ordered a bottle of wine and the person in charge of wine came to ask us 3 times if we were sure. What the heck? She wasn’t very knowledgeable anyways. Salads were ok, fancy looking but using same ingredients. I ordered stake medium rare however it was brought to me rare. It had a very heavy marinade taste. Fish and chicken was average cookies with excess butter to compensate.
Overall, will not recommend. Better spend the $400 someplace else.
Came from NH on a Friday evening to meet family in Brooklyn, so the Lodge is where to find good food while waiting for the traffic to lighten.
I wanted good Italian, and TL has it!
Food and service were good, could have used a smile or two from our waiter. Not very friendly
Great fresh ingredients as well as an eclectic menu.
Been there multiple times-service on this occasion was terribly disappointing.
Food was good. Customer service is lacking.
Tarry Lodge provides consistent excellence in food preparation and service. It is a family favorite!
Wonderful ambiance, great food and wine. It's a favorite of ours and we don't mind driving from Norwalk, CT. Keep up the great work!
Told them it was for birthday and they put a candle in the dessert. Very nice. In the past they have always given the bday person a small box with biscotti. That didn’t happen this time.
Tarry Lodge is probably one of our favorite places to eat in Westchester County. Restaurant week menu is equally delicious as their regular menu. Wonderful service. It's simply an enjoyment to dine here.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
We dined at Tarry Lodge during Hudson Valley restaurant week. The special menu was excellent. The food was first rate, and the price made it one of the best values we've ever found. The service was prompt and attentive. We'll be going back regularly!
Wonderful service for such a large party of 8 on a Friday night we were very pleased with everything and our food was spectacular! Only downside was it’s very very noisy.
This is my favorite go to place. As a matter of fact, I will be there again tonight. The bartenders will make anything you request, the waiters are attentive and the food is simply amazing.
What a lovely restaurant. Beautiful and comfortable. Terrific service and wonderful food. We went for restaurant week but went to regular menu. Be sure to try the tiramisu. Enjoy!
Appetizer was forgotten and every order was very different than what we have had in the past. Very oily pasta dishes and full of pancetta. Very disappointed
We went for Restaurant Week, was valuable! Portions of each dish are reasonable.
We had a very good late dinner, easting salad, pasta and eggplant parmigiana rather than a heavier entrée. Service was very pleasant at a corner table where noise was bearable.
The menu is extensive -- many dishes use pork as an ingredient.
Restaurant week was wonderful. We had the bucatini and the skate. Both were memorable for the best reasons.
Good food , good service . Inconsistent food .
Good food and place as an overall . We expected more considering the ownership and the famous Chief . The wine is very expensive for the quality .
Table crowded, service harried and dishes disappointing. Dry pasta salty veal heavily breaded. Everything premade so could not be changed
had the ribeye for 2--the best steak ever
great service
fabulous wine
We are never disappointed by the quality of the food or the wonderful service ( especially Mark Avila’s) who treats us like royalty. Tarrylodge is one of our top dining venues in Westchester. A place not to be missed!!!
Food outstanding
It took 4 attempts before we found a
table that was satisfactory
Indifferent attitude from Maitre D was
not appreciated
Their excuse was it was Saturday night
Maybe they should think twice before
asking people to sit in ridiculously small
or uncomfortable tables
Very amateurish
Great food
Sat at the bar and enjoyed the Tarry platter and some drinks. Great experience.
Food was fine. Service was fine. Water didn't taste right. Thats a pretty basic mistake
You can't order a bad meal - everything on the menu will please the most discerning diner.
