Great food, great service and they even brew a beer
We were fortunate to get an 8:30 reservation on Saturday, President's weekend. Seated promptly upon arrival. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Nice, fresh Greek salad. My wife's risotto was a little tame in flavor, but when eaten with my lamb dish, it all went together very well.
The food is amazing. Our server was amazing. Our experience was soured a bit because we were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation and we arrived 10 minutes early. We’d have been happy at the bar but it was full. We’ll give it another try...the food is worth it.

I wanted to go to a different restaurant where I knew the food was excellent, but allowed my daughter to choose an untried restaurant this time. My adult daughter wanted a trendy restaurant, in a fun neighborhood, with a lively bar. Tarla fit my daughter's idea of a place to meet. It did feel as if we were in a little place in a foreign country, which was a fun atmosphere, cramped and simple. I found the menu lacking in choices and overpriced. My daughter and son-in-law seemed to enjoy the bar while they were waiting for us to arrive. The Staff was friendly. I recommend Tarla for the trendy neighborhood and the bar, not for the food.
We dined at Tarla on Valentine's Day. Tarla did everything possible to make it a special evening for all of the guests. They were gracious, well-prepared and the food was delicious!
It was Valentines Day and we decided to go somewhere new. Tarla had amazing photos so we said sure let’s drive an hour to Napa.
We were a bit early, but they sat us immediately. The prefix meal was three courses with a cocktail. Our waitress was delightful. The type that checks in on you, but not too much and says something charming as she wisks away. The entire wait staff seemed like a well oiled machine.
I judge restaurants based on their bread and the warm baguette with oil tapenade was amazing. The Mediterranean flavours in the oil were so good...I could have just ate the bread all night, but they were smart to limit the slices or I would have regretted my choices. The portions were a bit too large for me. The beet salad and main course of beef tenderloin perfectly prepared.
I basically forced myself through dessert. The Baklava, my first time eating Baklava, was really yummy.
As we walked out they gave us a rose...above a beyond Tarla..well done..
One of the best Mediterranean restaurants we found in the area.

We enjoyed an outdoor table for brunch on a beautiful spring morning. Service was attentive and very polite. I had crab Benedict which was good but would’ve been better if they had used just crabmeat rather than a crab salad type mixture with mayo etc. mixed in. My beautiful fiancée and my mother both had the lamb and beef gyro plate, which was absolutely fabulous. We have eaten there several times before and will definitely eat there again - it is one of our favorite spots in Napa.
Outstanding food! We had the lamb and the stuffed eggplant with chickpeas- so simple but soooo delicious! Wish we could eat here every week.
Very nice place to meet for lunch or dinner. I had the grilled octopus salad which was very tasty, but the octopus was very salty. Less salt please.
Nice waiter, attentive but not fussing around to interfere with talking.
The food was fresh and delicious. We had a hard time choosing what to order because as dishes came out to other diners we wanted to try them all. Lovely art by Jose' Luis Varto graces almost every space of the place. We will definitely go back and have the humus plate to start with and the best Greek Salad with chunks of feta and ripe tomatoes, so fresh!
My wife and I weren't prepared to say we just had the best Mediterranean of our lives ... but I think that's what just happened. The sampler appetizer (called something else, I forget the name) was fresh, authentic and perfectly portioned. She got an Italian dish, I got a Greek - they were both splendid. Terrific outing.

Me and my fiancé are foodies, so we drive far and wide to find the best in food. We sat outside, the sun was just amazing to miss it. The inside is a little regular for our taste, but very decent. I ordered the special, chicken kebab and apricot dessert. The chicken was so tender and tasty, best kebab ever! It is well seasoned, the presentation was high end and the tea I ordered, they made it perfectly sweet for me. The baklava that my fiancée ordered to go with his octopus salad was to die for. They know how to cook the octopus right, cause it’s tender not chewy. It’s the best of everything we’ve tasted when it comes to Greek food. Absolutely one of our greatest finds when it comes to food. We will definitely come back and try more on the menu. BTW, the service was great too!
This was our third visit to Tarla and we were not disappointed. As always, the food is a bit daring, well prepared, and very tasty. Our server, Kim, was an absolute delight and made our visit extra special.
We shared an octopus salad: it's a real gem, but a bit small for two - I wanted all the octopus for myself! LOL My husband had the filet mignon - done perfectly - and I had the lamb kebabs - also perfect. Both were on a bed of roasted vegetables that were amazing! My husband has the "bitter" gene and normally can't eat Brussels sprouts, but these baby ones were sweet and lovely. We passed on dessert, but the list was very appealing.
Word of caution! We were seated in the bar area and it was loud - we could still have a conversation, but it was challenging. Once the conversation gets loud, then the music should go down, not up. If you want a somewhat quieter experience, ask to be seated in the "private" dining area. If the weather is nice, sit outside. Also, the two-tops are a tad small. But ask for Kim: she's wonderful and will make your meal special!
Restaurant Week visit and, considering the size of the place, the wine list was super impressive.

This was first time here for my wife and I. We LOVED the food and the service! Great selections. She ordered the fish and I ordered the marinated lamb kebob, and then we shared. We had tickets to the 8:00 PM Louis Black Show at the nearby (3 short blocks) theater, so we were looking for a restaurant to try where we could get in and out in time for a relaxed meal. We made 6:15 PM reservations, the place was packed, but our table for two was awaiting our arrival. Our waiter, Chuck, got right on it, and we had a delightful, relaxed dinner and were done in 45 minutes -- even though the place was literally packed with people, many of them going to the same show as we were.
We went to the grill for dinner prior to going to a show at the Uptown. After looking at the menu, the waiter told us that the special that night was scallops. We both love scallops but we neglected to ask what the price was for the dish. The main course included three medium-sized scallops with some vegetables. The cost of the plate was $36 per person. That's almost $10 over wha the highest price regular item is on the menu. I was upset with myself for not asking and very disappointed that the waiter did not tell us what the cost of the dish was that night.
Met friends for lunch in Napa, our home town. We hadn’t been here for several years. While the service was good, the food wasn’t memorable and seemed pricey for the portions.
It was fresh and delicious food. I would go back again and again. The starters were prepared perfectly. The octopus was tender and out of this world. The burger and lamb kabobs were equally prepared to perfection

We went there for a family get-together on New Year's Day. There were 8 of us and we add a great time and the food was delicious!!!! We had appitizers and brunch. The servers were great and very helpful. My family was very pleased with everything. Great Dinning Experience!
Terribly loud, yes it was New Years, but still awful acoustics. The food was terrible, you can find Greek food for $10 that is much better. Way too reliant on chimichurri sauce which isn’t even Greek. Drinks took 20+ mins. No thanks.
