Table for 8 for an office get together ... and I am paying the bill.
Very disappointed in the service. Drinks served without a bar napkin, water refilled once in three hours, food brought out by bus boys and called out the entree name, split 4 appetizers and no utensils included with the plate.
Food was well prepared; presentation was exceptional.
The waiter visited the table six times for the sole purpose of selling drinks.
The funny ending: 20% charge for 8 or more (fine), but like many other establishments, they offer a line for "additional tip". Wow, I can't tip an ordinary (15%) amount for below average service, but we do offer the opportunity of overpaying if you are not careful with the bill by way of doubling the tip.
I am in the wrong business.
Mediocre food and poor service. The place was not terribly busy either.
Server was unattentive. It was roughly 5 minutes before greeting the table, about 10-15 to take an order. I had to ask for him to pre-bus and when he reached for dirty plates, he reached over my meal rather than reaching from a different side. He gave incorrect answers to my questions regarding portions, leading to some disappointing food choices. He had indicated the lamb in the appetizer had 3 pieces and it was served as 2. He also did not know the portion on the duck when asked. Both questions are very basic.
The food was good, but the portions were inconsistent. Some too small, others on the large side. I enjoyed the duck breast, despite being unevenly cooked (rare in some places, medium well in others).
I am hoping for a better experience next time.
Our dining experience was perfect until it came time to leave and take our dessert with us. It took 15 minutes to cut a piece of pie for our trip home and pay the bill.
Love the ambiance and coziness of Tark’s and so want it to be the neighborhood place to go. The food was mediocre. Disappointing.
Wonderful first time visit for lunch. Nice serene atmosphere. The service was great and the food even better.
The food was fantastic and Fransisco took good care of us.
Good food pleasant waitress. Clean restroom.
Okay, nothing out of the ordinary
Always good food served by a friendly and attentive staff. When the weather is better they have a very nice outdoor seating area.
Our service was mediocre..we asked for water at least 3 times and didn't get it until we were ready to leave. The food was average and the prices were expensive for what was provided.
Very nice restaurant. Good selection of items on the menu and they have a kids menu. The service was very good as well. We look forward to returning in the future.
This is a nice restaurant in Greenspring Station. There is ample parking. The food is good, with an occasional nice surprise, such as the tasty Greek style lamb burger I had for lunch. They are accommodating. When I ordered a fruit cup, I specified no pineapple or strawberries, and they were okay with that. I wish it were quieter.
A favorite go to restaurant that we visit regularly.
Great service. Great food! The ambiance was lovely.
Had several starters-oysters and sesame tuna very good
Outdoor area very nice but weather kept us in
Tables are sticky. Some upholstery needs replacing.
Went for a midweek dinner with friends and had a wonderful experience, as we always do.
Server was delightful.
We all enjoyed sharing appetizers and our entrees.
A neighborhood gem!
We were there for a long lunch. The booths in the bar are spaced very closely together. It was difficult to get in and out. Food was very good but pricey. Overall a good experience. Will return to sample other items on the menu.
We were looking for a breakfast place. We’ll have to keep looking!
One of the best fried oyster dishes I've ever had. My fiancee had the seafood risotto which was equally enjoyable. The quality of the dish was worth the price. The portion sizes are large so, unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert. Great place for a nice date night out.
WE made a reservation ahead of time however when we arrived they did not have a table in the dining room and therefore needed to put us in the bar area. It was way too loud so we did end up leaving the restaurant because my husband does not like the noise.
We were looking forward to dining at Tarks and were truly disappointed by this.
Loved everything served
Alex was terrific and tried hard to accommodate special food needs.
Good menu, delicious food, friendly service.
Please get rid of the sticky table tops. They spoil the dining experience!!!!
We sat in the wine room which was beautiful but our quiet corner was under the air vents and it was very cold
Haven't eaten there in a few years. Had lunch one day and brunch the next. Food was pretty good; Bathroom dirty & no paper towels. I've heard it said that how a bathroom looks can often be a reflection of how the rest of the restaurant operates. Management may want to review.
Service was very good by all who were serving..
If you are not familiar with the area you could definitely miss this spot. Highly recommend & worth the money.
Our food was tasty and attractively presented, but the service was incredibly slow - we waited almost an hour for our lunch orders! The interior looks old and jaded and dark, and the ladies' room was filthy, with no paper towels.
Great place. Can’t wait to go again!!
Tark's has changed chefs and menus several times. We are frequent diners, but after the last menu change we did not eat there as often. We were pleased that the menu now includes several old favorites plus some new and interesting items. Two of us got the chicken pot pie and was as good, flaky, meaty as it had been (for a time, they had forgotten the chicken in chicken pot pie). The other dish was a tuna entrée which was prepared perfectly. Service was attentive (although a slow week day evening).
Negative was that the hostesses kept trying to seat people in the back room and also everyone asked to be seated in the main dining. All booths were empty, but "reserved" They remained empty the entire time we dined there. Curious
Fabulous neighborhood restaurant. Was able to eat outside on an “Indian Summer” evening in early November.
There were a lot of menu selections for everyone. Our waitress was prompt to get drinks started and everyone comfortable. The back up staff delivered meals when ready so that waits staff could continue to run dining area and everything ran smooth for a busy weekday lunch for our small group. Our waitress was terrific and always ready to make sure drinks were ready and that food was good. The manager checked in with up and was extremely pleasant as well.
Waiter very nice and attentive.
Our first time eating here for brunch ,we had made a reservation but it took an hour for our food to come out which was extremely long .It didn’t seem that busy but we didn’t see our waitress very much & she apologized once for the delay with the food but didn’t have a friendly demeanor at all. We were taken aback when the food finally came as the portions were very small for the high prices charged The food in general was good just very disappointed with the portions. Overall it was disappointing & I don’t think we will be back.
Its all about attention to detail.
Consistently and reliably a wonderful meal making it a terrific place to entertain friends and business associates
Tark's has been and is one of my repeat restaurants. There are a few of us that always go there when we go out to lunch.
Best seafood risotto and bread pudding. Nice ambiance
I took my friend here for her birthday. We each ordered a drink, shared an appetizer, and both got salads with salmon on top. The tuna appetizer was the worst I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even cut the tuna with my knife. I asked for dressing on the side, but it was on my salad. No one came to see if our food came out correctly. We waited and waited for our water to be refilled. Our check with tip was over $125. Extremely overpriced for mediocre food and service.
