Tark's is a beautiful venue with a lovely outdoor patio, professional staff, and great food.
A lovely birthday celebration. 15 if us enjoyed our lunch on their beautiful patio. The food was delicious and our server was amazing. Even with all those people he was correct with everyone’s entree. The shrimp salad was delicious and the Baltimore Club is always a big hit. A great place — a beautiful patio
Went for a late happy hour @ 730 on a Friday. Most of the crowd starting to leave. We sat in bar & it was way too loud for any type of conversation. Service was a bit slow, but the food made up for it. Ordered 4 appetizers and that was enough for 2 people. You’ve got to try the tomato & porcini ravioli. Unbelievably delicious. The sauce was creamy & smooth. I love my tuna tartar. Give this place a try but not on a Friday night.
Have eaten at Tarks for years and we have always enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere.
My dinner was not at all good. I had the old Lindsey salad ( which has been renamed but no where near as good) with salmon on the top. It came out raw inside and I ask if they could just cook it slightly more. When I ordered it I specifically asked for it not to be raw on the inside. When they brought it back it was so dried out and tasteless that I couldn’t eat or swallow it ! Our waitress was nice enough to remove it from the bill without me asking.
Not going back anytime soon
Back again for another excellent meal.
Food was average given price point, very thin wine list. A bit noisy for a business meeting or quiet conversation.
A wonderful birthday luncheon. Thank you to tarks for making this a day to remember. Everything was perfect. Good delicious and service was perfect
Our dinners were delicious. We both had the Bronzino which was grilled perfectly. It was my friends birthday and to celebrate we were given a choice of a complimentary dessert. My only complaint is that there was a $3 charge to exchange the spinach which came with the dinner, with asparagus.
Every now and then it is good to revisit a favorite spot, and I am pleased to report that Tarks is better than ever. In fact, I plan to return shortly.
On a Saturday evening they were out of hamburgers.
Niçoise salad was delicious with nicely seared with rare tuna and fresh greens tossed very lightly in vinaigrette. Fried green tomatoes were greasy and while the accompanying crabmeat was very nice, it lacked additional flavor and preparation. Our server was very nice and accommodating
The outside seating looked pretty pleasant, but it was the first warm night and we'd have to have wating 45m, so we ate inside. The ambience is. . .well, we were reminded of eating at a hotel or possibly an airport. Drop ceiling, seriously ugly upholstery on the seating. Food was good, and our server was great--very pleasant. I had the ahi tuna. I sort of question the idea of serving it on a bed of scrambled eggs, but whatever. Portions were large. Highlight of dinner was definitely the bread pudding dessert. That was first-rate. But we'll probably never come back here unless we have to for some reason.
Requested outside seating on my OT reservation, but when we arrived we were told it was “first come, first served outside”. This should be noted on the website.
The shrimp cocktail was very nice with 4 very large shrimp. The meatloaf, however was mealy and covered with very salty gravy that I had to scrape off. My wife's bronzini was also not very good. Leftovers went to our pets.
Lunches in the past, however, have been much better. Maybe it was just a bad day for the kitchen
After the new owners took over I visited Tarks two times and was very disappointed with the food and the service. I was not anxious to return I had marked it off my list as a place to go for dinner or lunch.
However, after the urging of good friends, we decided to return and were pleasantly surprised as to how good the service and the service was.
Oh my goodness! We went to tarks for Easter Buffet and it was outstanding. Apparently, this was the first time the new owners had a buffet, although their usual Sunday Brunch is always a hit. Well, this Brunch was over the top. My husband and I have never seen such a selection and each dish that we selected was absolutely delicious. The bar has been set to excellent! Keep up the good work and we will return over and over again. (Just learned that tarks has a Prime Rib Night every Monday evening 14 oz. for $20.00. What can be better than that!
This has become our favorite restaurant in the Baltimore area. Excellent food and service. We had Easter Brunch and it will become a family tradition.
My family celebrated Easter brunch at Tark's Grill. The buffet was excellent and had a raw bar, breakfast items and a carving station. The desserts were terrific as was the service. I recommend Tark's for any occasion.
Not a good experience: very inconsistent service, food ranged from just OK to inedible....all this in the same tired and slightly shabby decor that probably dates back 10 years.
Oh, and please change the menu from time to time. It really is not good enough to endure as classics that should stay on and on and on.
It was noon so it was busy. The waitress was a bit slow but the food was excellent. I had blackened chicken on the legacy salad and my colleague had the lobster roll with fries.
The experience is consistently excellent
fabulous food...love the chicken fun salad!!!
Good, noisy, slow service, coconut cake a bit dried out, beef rib very good and very large portion.
Service was very slow. The chicken pot pie was weirdly sweet, a bit too sweet for my taste.
Interesting menu. Good Food I will go there again!
Not good unfortunately. We waited almost an hour for our meals, watching in frustration as other diners, who arrived after us, ate and left. Nice waitress but zero sense of urgency from her or the manager who eventually stopped by the table. Once meals were finally delivered, we were asked how all looked before we had taken a bite with no follow up from manager. Really disappointing experience for this Tarks regular and my companions who are frequent patrons. Food was fine, but don’t order breakfast potatoes - bland: boiled, split in half, not seasoned or crisp.
We had quit Tark's because the food was very inconsistent. We loved eating out when the weather was good but, for those prices, there were other good venues.
Tark's is under new management so we decided to try again. We went for Sunday brunch. There was almost no one there for our 11:00 time slot, so we got to sit anywhere.
Not much has changed. I had the Angry Omelet. It had some of my favorite ingredients - shrimp, Andouille sausage and grits - with some kick. Unfortunately it was way too angry. Hot for the sake of hot with no subtlety.
The grits might have been decent but they came out stone cold, probably ladled from a pre-made pot made much earlier.
My wife's turkey club sandwich was good, but it had deli meet, not cut turkey. She was able to substitute fruit for the fries and that helped a lot.
Service was fair - not great but not awful.
We will give it one more try if ever gets into spring when we can try dinner outside. Until then, a return visit if not in the cards. It's a shame because we only live a couple of miles away.
Way to loud and bring in dining area
Dining area way to CRAMPED to have a pleasant dinner experience
I rarely take time to do reviews. But the food at Tark's was outstanding. Everything we ordered was delicious. How often does that happen? It was a Saturday night and a bit noisy for the 60 plus group. But it was a lovely meal, and would definitely return.
My kids and i love Tark's we go all the time. I have even been with friends for drinks. The food is quality and the service is outstanding. Always a smile from staff and great chatting.
The food was hit and miss. The steaks were absolutely great, correctly cooked and have great flavor and texture to them. Side dishes were disappointing, why would they serve fries with a Filet Mignon? The dish presentation was great for their lamb, it was tasty correctly cooked good seasoning and it was well received at the table. They need to work on the ahi tuna, they need to rework their seasoning, presentation and what they serve it with. The noise at the bar was overwhelming and not suitable for a nice evening. It seems that this place has changed to a more bar style place than a restaurant.
Great food and service!
The food is great. The service is great. The atmosphere is great.
Food is good, but pricey. Waiter was very personable
Salad was brown. Disappointing. Come here often. Usually pretty good.
Great evening, as usual. Food was delicious, service was excellent, and manager James was welcoming and friendly. Thanks, Tark's!
Enjoyed it hard to hear.
Friendly accomodating staff, excellent meals except omlets pretty bland. Need improvement.
Excellent server. We split two good dishes with two people and she made it a pleasure.
Food is a bit pricey for what it is. Our waiter Walter is such an asset. He has served us several times and is always so accommodating. Comfortable, pleasant setting.
