The food here was very good but I felt the price was much higher than it should have been.
To start we both ordered a Cappacino coffee, mine being decaf. It was delicious. The coffee was rich without a bite. We both had the Harvest Club sandwich with sweet potato fries. This was a hearty sandwich for a very cold and wintry day. The service was pleasant and on time. A nice touch was the carryout plastic container was accompanied by a bag in which to put it.
Real good food given expansive variety on brunch menu. Attentive, respectful service. Great place to meet friends or family.
Food is always good. Tables are well spread out. Not a quiet candlelight place. Service attentive and friendly
Food and service perfect
Tark's was really a good neighborhood restaurant with some of the best hamburgers and comfort food around. They have a bar which must carry their operation----it is always very busy and terribly noisy if one chooses to eat in the restaurant and not drink/eat at the bar. Some months ago, the restaurant management changed their practice and now one cannot order a hamburger or cheeseburger in the restaurant but only in the bar area. My wife and I, who live less than two miles from Tark's and had been regulars going back to when it opened as Harvey's, went to dinner there on Thursday evening. The bar was packed and noisy, so we were seated in the nearly empty restaurant. We both started with SALT-----their French onion soup was salt, salt and more salt plus some onions, cheese bread and broth. I also got a "simple Ceasar salad;" it was so cold and appeared to have been put together in the early afternoon and then placed in the freezer, that one could not eat it----it was really a shame to waste good food by serving it so cold that it had no taste. The coffee was fresh and delicious. I really have a selfish interest in seeing this restaurant be successful, as we live in their neighborhood, but their policy on burger in the bar only and their oversalting their soup and freezing their salads needs to be addressed first.
Excellent food as always and outstanding service from Francisco. It tended to be rather loud and noisy in the
Main Dining room
Another very good meal!
Very enjoyable evening. Delicious meal. I am never disappointed here.
Sat in bar area on Saturday afternoon, it was slow & quiet, the area was freezing cold. Waiter was sub-par. Bartender gave my husband the wrong drink & took forever to correct it & send back to table. Food however, was amazing. Had the croissant chicken salad, brussel spouts & crabcake/shrimp salad sandwhich. Everything was fresh & delicious! The prosecco on tap was flat, which was disappointing & lunch was quite pricey for service we recieved. I'd heard great things about this place, and was excited to finally go there. I may go back but won't be in a hurry to do it.
The service and ambiance were great. The food is not what I am used to at Tarks. The meat loaf was boring. And just call onion rings onion rings. People like to know what they are getting.
I must be missing something. Is there really "waterfront" at Tarks? OMG does this mean Tarks is a chain?
Since you asked .......I was very disappointed in the service and the food. Worst crab cake I've ever had. My grandchildren's chicken tenders were so over cooked, likely fried 10 times over. The only thing that was decent was their shrimp cocktail.....Total for the worst meal I've ever had was $125.00....no alcohol. Will never return.
Under cooked food and lousy response to the issue. Run by kids and not attentive to the customers
The new pasta special on Monday night was great!! Wine, salad and entree--can't beat it!!
Food and service very good, but compared to other local restaurants offering
similar quality, the prices were uncomfortably high.
Tark’s is consistently great. We eat there once or twice a week, and we’ve never had to wait more than a minute. Reservations are easy on OpenTable. George is a fantastic waiter with an incredible memory!
Service very nice.. staff pleasant. The food that I chose was inedible I ordered the lobster roll for $23... the roll was delicious but the lobster meat was inedible... little dried out shriveled pieces... and salty .. I didn’t complain... maybe they would have replaced it...
Great NYE dinner. All 4 of us loved what we got. The scallops over butternut squash risotto was perfect! Best meal I have ever had there. The crab cakes were also outstanding and lobster appetizer was a real hit! Brussel sprouts as well were good. Friends had the Bronzini and loved it and the seafood pasta.
The place was not loud for NYE, and we could actually have a conversation. Also, the service was great and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will go back.
Andrew was an excellent server, gave great suggestions for food and dessert, just overall terrific. This was my friend's first time at Tark's and definitely return. Brunch is next on our list to try. So many thanks to Andrew and Tark's for an exceptional experience and New Year's Eve dinner!
The food was excellent and our server was very attentive and helpful in our food choices. I would definitely recommend Tark's to others.
tables are too close together. Table/booth seating in the outer area is poor. too close to the bathroom.
Excellent food combined with excellent service made this night a pleasant experience. Prices are just a tad high but the quality of the food and presentation makes up for it.
Christmas Eve dinner. Place was hopping! Overall kitchen and servers handled everything well. We often go to Tark’s for everyday dining, while the service this time was slower the food was spot on and our waiter was very much a professional.
We had a family Christmas Brunch at Tark’s on the 23rd. The staff was accomodating and so easy to work with. We had a great brunch starting with Pink Flamingos and Orange Crushes. The appetizers included fried oysters and French toast bites. Favorites for brunch were the Avocado Toast and the Belgian Waffle.
The service for our large party was excellent. I highly recommend Tarks!
This is an upscale area and there probably been 4 or 5 restaurants here since Harvey's. The restaurant was not busy on a Saturday evening and we were seated in the main dining area. We were disappointed that there were 2 menus, one for the main dining room and one for the bar area. Ofcourse, what we wanted was on the other menu and our waiter insisted that we could not order from the bar menu. The food we ordered was tasteless and not worth the price. I don't believe they are going to make it.
Tark’s Grill is a 5 star across the board, food, service and atmosphere. We are never disappointed. From a Birthday party for 25 to last minute drop in at the bar, the food is always good, the staff is very customer focused and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. We have dined in both the more formal dining and the bar side and the service is the same high level.
Loved the place especially the mix of dish's on the menu.My favorite is the Moroccan burger.
I had the turkey sliders & as advertised , they were nicely seasoned. We were seated at high tables that were too close to one another so that people needing to leave could barely slide through. We had a reservation but the place was quite crowded & noisy.
Always great. Delicious food.
Drinks, appetizers, and entree to go. Tempura shrimp, crab dip, and meatballs, PERFECTION
Always delicious food at tarks. Never disappointed. Cocktails are super. Service friendly. Nothing to not like.
Dinner was delicious. It was hard to make a selection from their great menu. Wine suggestion was perfect. Hot fudge sundae was a perfect ending to a delicious dinner. Loved the Christmas decorations (just the right amount)
Delightful and delicious
Table for 8 for an office get together ... and I am paying the bill.
Very disappointed in the service. Drinks served without a bar napkin, water refilled once in three hours, food brought out by bus boys and called out the entree name, split 4 appetizers and no utensils included with the plate.
Food was well prepared; presentation was exceptional.
The waiter visited the table six times for the sole purpose of selling drinks.
The funny ending: 20% charge for 8 or more (fine), but like many other establishments, they offer a line for "additional tip". Wow, I can't tip an ordinary (15%) amount for below average service, but we do offer the opportunity of overpaying if you are not careful with the bill by way of doubling the tip.
I am in the wrong business.
Mediocre food and poor service. The place was not terribly busy either.
Server was unattentive. It was roughly 5 minutes before greeting the table, about 10-15 to take an order. I had to ask for him to pre-bus and when he reached for dirty plates, he reached over my meal rather than reaching from a different side. He gave incorrect answers to my questions regarding portions, leading to some disappointing food choices. He had indicated the lamb in the appetizer had 3 pieces and it was served as 2. He also did not know the portion on the duck when asked. Both questions are very basic.
The food was good, but the portions were inconsistent. Some too small, others on the large side. I enjoyed the duck breast, despite being unevenly cooked (rare in some places, medium well in others).
I am hoping for a better experience next time.
Our dining experience was perfect until it came time to leave and take our dessert with us. It took 15 minutes to cut a piece of pie for our trip home and pay the bill.
Love the ambiance and coziness of Tark’s and so want it to be the neighborhood place to go. The food was mediocre. Disappointing.
Wonderful first time visit for lunch. Nice serene atmosphere. The service was great and the food even better.
