TarBoush Lebanese Bistro
Fri, Sat 12:00 pm–9:30 pm
Situated in a great old house in Hawthorne district, TarBoush was a great find. We were there for lunch and did not expect a big menu. We selected a few dishes from their extensive menu to share and found them all authentic and delicious. Service was fast and courteous. Ambiance was good, made better with pleasant Lebanese music. Overall, a great value. If you like middle eastern food, you should not miss TarBoush.
Lots of space for big tables. Very very family friendly. Excellent, shareable food. Wonderful owners. And great food! Did I mention that?
Great dinner. The pita bread and entries were delicious!
This is our favorite restaurant in Portland! Excellent quality as always.
Everything we tried was wonderful and authentic. From appetizers to salad to main course and coffee—all delicious! Not to mention the service was thoughtful and well timed. Will certainly be back!
My wife and me have been there twice. Each time we came with different family members and had a very nice time. The food is good and more than enough. The waiter was very good, friendly, and funny. I recommend going to this restaurant.
Well crafted food. Fresh off the oven pita bread is a treat.
Great food, great drinks and great people. Perfect place to order plates and share and grab a bottle of wine.
The food was very good and flavorful. The service was okay and could have been better. The server did well considering the the space limitations to serve people. The seating was barely comfortable.
Great outdoor seating for summer. The food was amazing and so were the drinks.
We loved the cuisine, the atmosphere, and our waiter Johnny. But we were greeted by the hostess who told us we had 6 minutes to order because they were closing and the kitchen wanted to home. It would behoove this restaurant to review its employees. Waiter Johnny saved the day and we had an enjoyable dinner.
Always a favorite for their family style meals. Went with 2 friends and a 1 year who ate everything in front of him. Great seating, A/C and nice staff.
Great food and very accommodating owner. Cool old Victorian house. No complaints.
The food here is amazing. Slightly spendy but worth it. Get the rose drink!
We had 7 in our party. Our table was ready when we got there. Unfortunately, they had us upstairs and most of our party was older. The bathroom is difficult to get to. But the food is delicious. And they have gluten free pita!
Excellent food, accommodating and friendly wait-staff and peaceful atmosphere. What more could you ask for?
We all had a fantastic time, the food was great. My. Mother was happy to go to a place that has vegan food and there was food for those who like to eat meat as well.
The service was awesome and will definitely come again.
My new favorite Lebanese restaurant!!
I went twice in one week!
Food and service were great. The restaurant is in one of the lovely old Victorian homes that dot the east side. Authentic Mediterranean style food. Portions are large.
Lebanese food is one of my favorites and Tarboush did not disappoint. The lamb shawarma was served with a really light pilaf and was enough food for me to eat for lunch the next day. Cocktails were perfect!
We had a bad experience with one server. He forgot or food order and we waited for over half an hour for another waiter to realize our food hadn’t come yet. So we waited another half hour for our food to get to the table.
The food was awesome though. But I wouldn’t come back because of the poor service.
We had an OT reservation but evidently they didn’t hear us mention that when we checked in. Our table was situated right next to the restroom, so that put a jinx on ambience. Food was delicious. Chicken was hot n juicy. Vegetarian platters were excellent too. Great service - extra pita! Reasonably priced for a great spot on Division St.
This was our second visit to TarBoush and quite frankly we were a little disappointed. The serving sizes were small and the prices more on the high side than the other Lebanesse-style restaurants in town. Our server was great, although the tables are a bit close.
Our appetizers were fine, baba ghanouj and hummus. But the four Entrées were in edible. Big disappointment we won’t be back
Tasteless vegetables, and former employee picketing outside with a sign that indicated that they just microwave frozen veggies. Totally believable. Also , paid $71 for a substandard lunch. Outrageous.
We enjoyed every bite of our meal. The variety of dishes that we ordered were flavorful and complemented each other.
TarBoush was a nice treat for a birthday celebration. The food was awesome with many vegan and gluten free options. Parking is not easy, so give yourself plenty of time. I would have liked more time to savor our starters, so make sure to remind your server to slow down the pace if you wish to enjoy a relaxing meal.
Food is pretty good with some exceptions. The grape leaves were soggy, the rice was like glue.
Ya Hala is better and less expensive.
The setting is nice. Wine was priced right and the pour was large.
Excellent service, amazing food, great coffee. One of my new favorites!
We have eaten at Tarboush indoors, outdoors and takeout and have never been disappointed. The variety offered makes for difficult decisions but whatever is decided always seems right. Lamb is always done to perfection whether as Shawarma or kabob'd. The staff is friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and efficient. Tarboush is our #1 choice for bringing out of town guests for a great meal.
Business meeting with a colleague. Our server was attentive but not overly interruptive. Food was great. Even got some to go!
The lamb plate for $22 was mostly rice with a bit of salad & rather tough lamb.
Consistently great food with good service. A go to when you want authentic Lebanese food.
Good neighborhood restaurant wth a wonderful lamb shank. Everyone in our group enjoyed the dishes, even the vegetarian. Despite appearances to the contrary, I recommend making a reservation. The place was empty when we walked in at 5:30, by 7:00 it was standing room only and a lengthy wait for those who were not prepared.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere of this restaurant. Nice outdoor dining. We ate inside because it was hot outside, but not very cool inside either. We ordered a variety of foods and liked everything that we ate. They had a good selection of vegetarian options. They seemed a bit short handed, so service was a little slow.
The food was very good. It's an old house so the ambiance was what I expected. The service was not great. The servers were very friendly and knew the food, however, they seemed overwhelmed by the number of people in the restaurant even though it was not close to full. They either need more experience or more people helping.
Excelente comida. Fresca y buena
Precios altos pero calidad
We're fans of Mediterranean foods and Tarboush sits at the top of our list as a provider of tasty fare at reasonable prices. The lamb kabobs were spiced and grilled to perfection. We brought two teen aged boys who'd just graduated from high school, one of whom had never experienced Lebanese cuisine and he went to town on the kabob mix. We'll be back with our appetites on.
I've been to Tarboush several times and it never disappoints. The meals (lamb!) are delicious and always seasoned just right. The vegetarian fare is equally as good. Ambience is quiet and the staff are personable and helpful.
