Special thanks to Tessie who was amazing! The recommediation for dessert was on point! Ask for her every time!
As for the beef stew I would stay away! It was very dry with little flavor!
This was our first visit here, a friend recommended Tarbell’s & we couldn’t have enjoyed a more delightful evening! It was crazy busy but we had a reservation thru Open Table & we were seated immediately. The food was absolutely divine...seriously, I am a foodie...it was divine! I had the Lobster & Basil Gnocchi and my husband had the Spaghetti with THE Meatball ! Both were delicious! Just go!
Was perfect as always!
Can’t take your own wine l, bummer. Large wine selection with large prices. Noise levels exceeding high, perhaps a mid-week night would be better. Very little elbow room so dress accordingly.
Great food and service. Always enjoy the atmosphere and delicious choices
Excellent food & service. Pepper steak is the best in the west.
I love this place. Every time i in Phoenix i have to have dinner here! The chef takes care of every time!
Our waiter was very good. Beef carpaccio was very good.
Food was outstanding as usual. Service a bit off but fine though business was not super busy A few nice wine bargains for the knowledgeable drinker. Noise level was too loud and the choice of music not conducive to an upscale dining spot. We enjoy conversing with our guests.
Before I even looked at a menu I thought this experience would ve good. The service was excellent, very professional and friendly. My mushroom risotto was perfectly cooked with complex flavor. I highly recommend the signature Tarbell’s cheesecake for desrt.
This was a birthday dinner celebration. Two diners had the beet salad, which was good. The other two had the beer cheese soup which had a grainy consistency.
My husband and I shared two entrees. The salmon and the vegetable plate. Salmon was fine, but nothing special. The vegetable plate, if it had been ordered for one person, wouldn’t have been enough to feed a small child! Cooked way too much and in too much oil. Very disappointed. Another person had the spaghetti and meatball. Meatball was good but sauce was not. Tasted like it had a lot of vinegar in it. It may have been a personal preference issue. Last diner has the scotch beef. He liked it a lot.
Desert was very good. Cream brûlée and apple cobbler.
All in all, we were not impressed. This has been our special occasion restaurant in the past, but after this dinner, we’ll try others.
Special occasion, celebrating a milestone birthday.
Great food. Cozy seating and nice server. Halibut was delicious.
Great food. Read about this place in the Wall Street Journal and it was great.
The best food and friendliest staff! The perfect dinner spot.
The food was very good. We loved the fish chowda. The service was very good. We would go there again.
Service was very good although front of house had no notice of reservation, even to open table. Salads were great, entree , halibut was over cooked. Service was first class.
Halibut, the special tonight, was seriously over cooked. Such a shame! We love the restaurant, normally.
Our Waitress was incredible. Made the evening special and memorable.
Our server, Kelly, was amazing.
All time favorite restaurant. Food is amazing , service impeccable.
It was super busy on Saturday night & our reservation was delayed, but both manager & hostess (very kind) kept apologizing for the delay & kept us posted. No big deal, we had drinks at the bar & relaxed! Dinner was awesome as usual. Halibut was amazing and my steak was one of the best in quite a while! Cheers!
A place you can count on! Food, Ambiance, Service - all comes together perfectly. Your hostess was professional and gracious, the service was so great and the plates, well - what can I say - delicious!
Thank you Mark T. for staying true to what you do! We love Tarbell's!
Having valet parking was really welcome. Service as usual was incredible and food was likewise. Only issue was the noise level. I don't hear particularly well and really struggled to hear my wife. Overall, one of our most favorite places for special occasions.
We loved Mark's "Check Please AZ", not so fond of "Plate and Pour."
Food was good
They really made you feel as if they wanted to get you out
Tables too close together. Sound to loud it was hard to talk. Food great.
Take a table out in each section and make it more room, I understand you want to get as many in as you can but I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Thanks
My husband and I made reservations a few weeks ago to try Tarbell's for the first time. We watch several of his TV shows and we were looking forward to trying a Phoenix landmark restaurant. We had an early reservation (5:45 PM) so we could get to a concert on time. When we arrived we were seated at a high top near the bar instead of the dining room. Being that it was early there were still plenty of seats in the dining room but we did not speak up and sat in very disappointing seats. My husband, out of irritation with our seating arrangement, ordered bar food (a pizza) instead of the first class meal he was looking forward to. I ordered the homemade burrata for an appetizer which was amazing. For an entre I ordered the chicken, it was delicious. When I ordered I could not decide between the chicken and the famous bolognese so the waitress brought me a complimentary half serving of that, it was excellent as well. I thought the food was excellent and I would definitely eat there again. Unfortunately my husband was so irritated he will probably never go back. Looks like I'll be going back for a girls night! Lesson learned, speak up if you don't like your seat or request dining room seating when making your reservation. The place was jam packed when we left, it is definitely worth it.
Tarbell's is such a special place. Every year when we come to Phoenix (for Spring Training) we have dinner at Tarbell's. Honestly, we can't wait for our night at Tarbell's as much as (or even more) than baseball! We look forward to it all year! The food, the service and the ambiance are absolutely stellar. If I lived in Phoenix I would be a regular there, but for now we get our annual fix and we absolutely love it. Thank you, Tarbell's!
This restaurant is one of the top five in the Valley. Tarbell is a great chef and six if us enjoyed everything we ate but the Bolognese was spectacular as was the mushroom soup. The “Chowda ” got high praise too. Just a spectacular meal. And these deserts were wonderful too.
Loved the food. A quite noisy though. A bit pricey.
From Michigan- we visit AZ every year at this time. tarbell's is always one of our favorite nites out. It's such a special place, and food is always delicious. One thing that stands out for us is that we have had the same wait staff on several occasions over the years. This speaks volumes on the type of establishment for your employees to work, that they are there year after year. Our son from Ohio visits each year now, and Tarbell's is also his favorite restaurant. Keep up the good work. Thanks
This was our first visit, and everyone at our table raved about their meal. Tessy, our server, was outstanding. The duck/gnocci, scotch beef, and Bolognese were highlights.
Excellent food. Disappointed in the service. The moderately priced white wine we ordered from Tarbell’s wine list was not available. We had to order a different, more expensive bottle and it was warm when poured. Then we had to ask for them to chill it before pouring more. I’d expect more from a high-end restaurant with an extensive wine list. We also had to ask for bread, and we noticed we and another table received the bread at the end of the meal.
We had the most amazing time celebrating our 30th birthdays! We would totally be back the service and food was amazing
Great service and delicious food, as always...
Too crowded and noisy. Poor service-very slow.
I liked my meal pasta with sausage with fennel...my husband had spaghetti and meatball..he didn't care for meatball.. actually impressively large meatball but not enough seasoning...make the meatball smaller so more seasoning can make it to the center of the meatball... service was good..very loud unfortunately (shows I'm getting old!).
I probably wouldn't go back but I'm glad I went thanks
Another fantastic experience at the best place to be a regular. Great cocktails with a Caesar salad. Then a perfect steak and pasta dishes. Dessert too. Nathan picked a perfect bottle of wine for us. Can't wait to go back!
Very disappointing after going many times for many years. Salmon was tasteless and marks spaghetti had a total lack of flavor. Not much sympathy from waiter
This Man knows how to run a restaurant. Good food. Good service from the bussers to the servers
Tarbell is there to make sure things are good. Very impressed.
Oh and BTW the best Salmon in town.
