The restaurant and event venue is located in the historic district of downtown Wilmington.     The inspiration behind this restaurant was drawn from our grandfather, Anthony "Tony" Salvatore Tarantelli ("Papa") and our grandmother Mabel Tarantelli. Both Tony and Mabel believed that home cooked food brought family together. Our Papa's love for Italian food came from his father, Salvatore Tarantelli, who was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy in the province of L’Aquila. It is here that Tony began to appreciate Italian cuisine at its purest. Both Tony and Mabel were amazing cooks and deserve the credit for passing on many of our family recipes that we now have the pleasure and privilege to share with you.

    Place has cool vibe. Good people watching. Food- just ok. Calamari over cooked but marinara sauce for it was delish. Veggie pasta noodles cooked al dente but veggies too soft. Bread was great. Will return, however, to try the pizza.

    The food was amazing as well as the atmosphere. I was only disappointed in the open table app by the times and total number of people that I could book. There were several open tables that could accommodate 4 at 5:30 which was what I was looking for. Next time I will call to make a reservation.

    Food was amazing! Everything we ordered just got better and better with every bite! Even if you don’t make reservations online and have to wait for a table, it’s worth it!

    Nice place. Just a little pricey for mediocre Italian food. Our app was undercooked (risotto balls) but the bruschetta was delicious. The scallop dish was good but a bit too oily and it looked like the sauce broke. Service was good Overall not a bad experience but certainly not a place I would call a go to Italian spot.

    Food was subpar but for price expected to be way more elevated. Had a bloody mary and all i could taste was the vodka. Great service and ambiance. Will not go again

    This was a girls night out and we had a great time. My meal was veal Marsala with pasta. My pasta was over cooked and it had too much sauce but the veal was tasty. In the future I will ask for the sauce on the side. My friends meals were good. I will try this restaurant again!!!

    It was an absolutely amazing experience and the food was fantastic! Took my husband out for his birthday and we got there early and our table was ready! The staff was super friendly and funny when we were trying to pronounce some of the menu items. They even adhered to my reservation request to have a dessert with happy birthday on the plate to my husband and even went the extra mile in giving a candle for the occasion. Great experience, great food, great time and definitely will be a great memory. Thank you so much!

    Outstanding from salads to apps to entrees to dessert and coffee. We had the specials and they truly were. Copious quantities of food - for the first time in memory I took home part of my meal, including dessert. It was an excellent evening and our server was the perfect balance of solicitousness and leaving us to our meals.

    It was my birthday and they were amazing! The staff made sure to bring me a dessert with a candle. Everything was delicious and the menu was amazing.

    Four of us had a pre-theater dinner here last night & it was a great experience for all. Logan, our server was friendly, knowledgeable & very efficient. He suggested the Filet Mignon Bruschetta as an appetizer & it was amazing. I could easily pair it with a salad & have it for a main course in the future. Two of us had the “small portion” of Pappardelle Al Funghi Porcini E Panna which was delicious and definitely not small. It was great to have that option as neither of us could have eaten more & didn’t want to take anything home as we were on our way to Thalian & it was a warm night.

    Sadly, we won’t be back. They were out of several types of drinks and food as well, which is ridiculous since they opened at 5 and we had 6:00 reservations. Food was good, not great. Overpriced imo too.

    It was an excellent experience. My only recommended area for improvement would be to either remove some of the ice from the beverages or lower their drink prices. Tarantelli's has amazing White Russians, but the glass is packed with ice, so after a few sips, the drink is nearly half-gone. Nevertheless, it is still one of my favorites in Wilmington.

    Outstanding, as always. 7:15 New Years Eve reservations. Prompt, on-time seating. Very attentive service. Delicious drinks and meals. We have had many great experiences at Tarantelli's and this is another one. Thanks for always making it special.

    We had a large, round table in a back room - great for our party of six. My Cosmo was excellent as was my chicken parm. Lasagna was very good. Others enjoyed their food too - a good way to end 2022. Tarantelli’s is always a great place for date night!

    Prices are a bit high compared to the quality of the food. While you get plenty of food, the taste was somewhat lacking. I ordered the broccoli rabe with sausage over homemade tagliatelle and the sausage didn't have much flavor and there was hardly any broccoli rabe in my dish. Talking of dishes, what's with EVERYTHING being served in bowls. I can see pasta dishes being served that way but, my husband ordered veal marsala and it was in a bowl!! Veal was overcooked and sauce was extremely sweet. Not what he was expecting. I would say that the service was excellent. The hostess, the bar tender, and our waiter could not have been more courteous or more helpful.

    Best ever! When I asked our server if he had tasted last night’s special, he said one word yes! but his nonverbal said everything I needed to know. The slow nod of the head, his eyelids closing and opening in deep approval. It was as if he was reliving the taste all over again. I lived that moment last night. Chef’s kiss

    We really enjoyed our experience here! We had reservations and were quickly seated. Our waiter was also managing a large party behind us and we did not feel neglected. My chicken initially came out a little dark, but they quickly replaced it! The fresh pasta is delish. Worth the price.
