Tarantelli’s is located on Second Street, just one block from Front Street and in walking distance to the Cape Fear River. The restaurant and event venue is located in the historic district of downtown Wilmington. This lively area spans 230-plus blocks and is home to some of the best bars, restaurants, churches, architecture, and selection of fine art. There are several parking facilities nearby, but you can also reach Tarantelli's year round via horse drawn trolley and carriage, river taxi, trolley cars, or on foot.

The inspiration behind this restaurant was drawn from our grandfather, Anthony "Tony" Salvatore Tarantelli ("Papa") and our grandmother Mabel Tarantelli. Both Tony and Mabel believed that home cooked food brought family together. Our Papa's love for Italian food came from his father, Salvatore Tarantelli, who was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy in the province of L’Aquila. It is here that Tony began to appreciate Italian cuisine at its purest. Both Tony and Mabel were amazing cooks and deserve the credit for passing on many of our family recipes that we now have the pleasure and privilege to share with you.

Starting off that we got there 15 mins early and the hostess said the table would be ready in 10-15 mins, when there were a number of tables empty. I get that the servers have to be ready so fine. We also asked if we could sit outside, but hostess came across a bit rude in how she responded - much better ways to say not available. By the time we left those same tables were still empty. Dirty silverware and dirty menus - didn't start off great. Food was good. Inconsistent service - where some servers packed up the food but we had to do it ourselves. There was something pretentious (perhaps the hostess from the start, then not the cleanest experience) given the quality of the food/service. We've had much better dining experiences in Wilmington and other cities.

Delicious dining experience from start to finish. The scallops were excellent; the grouper was to die for. Logan, our waiter, took good care of us -- as usual! One of Wilmington's best restaurants.

Great family owned Italian restaurant. Wife and I each had a beverage, salad, and spaghetti for two that included the authentic Italian cheese wheel. Appropriate portions, great flavor, and great service. Looking forward to our next visit.

The pasta was yummy. I got the picatta, which was full of flavor. The veal was tender. My partner got the Marsala, and said it could’ve used a bit more flavor. The drinks, however, were subpar at best. We both got mojitos and they tasted like water with a little liquor in them. No flavor. His was also made much stronger than mine, so an inconsistency there. The desert was exceptional, seriously the best gelato I’ve ever had- salted caramel. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was lovely and did an exceptional job answering any questions and making us feel welcome.

We were disappointed that the Braciole was no longer on the menu. That has been our favorite dish at Tarantelli’s.
