Enjoyed dinner. You are able to get half portions at dinner which I really enjoyed!
Service and food were incredible! I highly recommend the sea scallops and the spinach. One of the best meals I have ever had the pleasure to experience. I travel worldwide for my work so I am comparing this restaurant to some of the finest internationally, not just in Wilmington.
Always good. Outstanding service wonderful atmosphere
Our gang thoroughly enjoyed Tarantelli’s, from the greeting by one of the owners upon our arrival to check service at the end of the meal and everything in between. It was a later dinner (8:00), which can sometimes be annoying for the serving and kitchen staff especially on a quiet night like this one, but our server seemed genuinely pleased that we were there, and he offered great wine suggestions, shared his favorite dishes with us, and provided us with a great dining experience. What can I say about the food other than we all commented about the simple yet complex flavors of everything we ate. And we ate the gamut...homemade ravioli, brescoala, Vitello Marsala, the bistecca special for the night, calamari, and the spinach and artichoke dip. We even had the pleasure of watching someone getting the tableside service for the pasta prepared in a wheel of Parmigiana Reggiana....spectacular! Also, the background music was old-school Italian crooners which really added to the overall vibe. None of us ate dessert, so I can’t speak to that, but we did enjoy quite a bit of their wine!!! Delicious!
You must stop in here if you are in Wilmington!
The food, as always, is very good. One of the only legitimate Italian restaurants in the area. However, this is the second time that service hasn't been as equally good. The waitress was good and knowledgable but wished she was more attentive regarding our drinks (had to pause eating until we got our bottle of wine we had ordered, which we didn't have a chance to order until our entrees were brought out).
All in all, I would still recommend the restaurant to anyone that wanted amazing Italian but with an upscale atmosphere.
Drink order took over 20 minutes placed at the table. Rest of the experience was very good. Bar tender was very helpful.
Ambiance was the best part, we had 5:30 reservations and we not seated till 6:15pm and the host clearly forgot about us until we had to go back and remind him. The waitress was not very good she didn’t come back to check to see if we needed refills on drinks
We had to flag her down. There were 4 of us and we didn’t want appitizers so two couples split house salads there was a 2 dollar up charge to split two small salads! The prices were high but that wasn’t a worry till we saw some portions were small. Very disappointed 🙁
Beautiful restaurant with romantic ambiance. However, service was slow and food was average at best. Had reservations at 5:30. Arrived about 10 minutes early. We were told to wait in the bar until 5:30, which seemed odd because it appeared many tables were available. We didn’t mind that. However the cocktails were weak. Then time to get our food was about 1 hour. My husband ordered the short rib ravioli special. Neither of us liked it. I ordered a salmon salad, which was average. Our two friends said they enjoyed their entrees. The meatball appetizer was good.
All 6 of us enjoyed our meals and were very pleased with everything about this restaurant. Quantities were quite generous.
It was my second time, and it did not disappoint. I was excited to share it with my friend who we enjoy nice restaurants. And she was very pleased as well. It was quiet it was efficient it was tasty it was special and we got to the theater on time. I would highly recommend it and the wait staff knows exactly what to recommend for what you're hungry for. They have seafood and salads and pasta and Tiramisu is not to be missed.
We went for dinner New Years Eve and the food was amazing. We all shared dishes around because everything we had from starters to dessert was so delicious we had to share.
Came here because we wanted authentic Italian food. We both were very disappointed with all of our food. The caprese salad was a joke and the Ravioli was supposed to be fresh pasta, as a gourmet cook myself, I know my pasta. This was homemade at some point but was definitely old or thawed out. If you are lokkng for Americanized Italian food, this place may be for you.
Must get the Filet Bruscetta!!! Ambience was amazing, beautiful, romantic decor! Great for date night.
The male hostess was very welcoming and friendly. Made us feel like family. Really enjoyed that.
This is my second dinner at Tarantellis. This is a nice restaurant if you are not in a hurry. Dinner is not rushed. The menu is fairly standard Italian but well done. The Christmas decor was classy and fit the restaurant well.
Our favorite Restaurant in all of Wilmington.
They got their chef back from Denver , life is good
Our family went to Tarantelli's for the first time on Christmas eve. We are really happy we chose to go there. Everything was exceptional from the time we entered until the time we left including the service, ambience, appetizers, main course, and dessert. We will return soon.
The food is always exceptional. Wish we had more of it per serving!
We enjoy the unique choices on the menu. Much more interesting than most other Italian restaurants in the area. Above average food quality and tastes. Thanks
A great place with a very friendly staff. The food was all perfectly done. Even at peak hours it was calm and relatively quiet.
Not a place for those on a tight budget, but you do get what you pay for.
First time at Tarantelli’s before a 730 curtain. They were phenomenal in the service, the food, the wine, and getting us out on time! We highly recommend them and will be going back again soon!!!
We decided to try this restaurant for my Birthday. Appetizers were good but when it came to the main course we were disappointed. We decide to try the pasta in the cheese wheel. In the past we had always had the pasta in the cheese wheel and they had never mixed the the sauce in with the wheel. This was disappointing and hope they change this practice. We feel that for the price that this particular practice was rushed and sauce is never added, that way the cheese has a chance to mix with the noodles.
A nice place to get together for a meal with friends. Good food, nice ambience and relaxed.
I usually enjoy the pizza. However, the night we went, it was over cooked
Food is always outstanding, staff are great . They have frequent specials that are awesome. Can’t wait to go back .
Food is always homemade, fresh, delicious and authentic. Ambiance is beautiful and perfect for all occasions. Our favorite Italian restaurant in Wilmington!
This is a very nice restaurant. The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. They were very attentive and the owner even came and talked with us at length. The food was creative and amazing. Excellent presentation and large selection of entrees and appetizers. Everything was fresh and cooked to order. Service was wonderful. We would definitely love to go back and would recommend. Make reservations. The dining room is not huge. We waited in the bar until our reservation time. It was comfortable and had good selections. Good location to walk around downtown Wilmington before or after dinner.
Delicious pasta, great appetizers, cool cocktails. Highly recommend
Our dinner was great from the time we sat down until our coffee. We love this restaurant.
Celebrated a friend's birthday here on a Saturday night. The service was slow to start; our initial server was apparently over seated, so Jaden became our server. She was a true delight! Despite being new, she handled our table with grace, professionalism, and humor. She really turned our experience around - she deserves 10 out of 10!
Took a friend for his birthday and we both loved it. Great wine, entrees and dessert. But the outstanding service from Nicole at the bar and Brian at our table, made it a great dining experience!
Was our first visit, we are locals & do not dine out often but we had family in town for the thanksgiving holiday and by Monday we needed something other than leftover turkey! Many restaurants are closed on Monday, it was nice to find Tarantelli's open and with a great menu to please everyone in our party. The location near historic downtown is convenient, there is on street parking which is metered but is free after 6:30pm during the week. The restaurant is very pleasing to the eye with a low key decor. There are two eating areas, the larger where we were seated was a quite expansive open area with a few booths, a long banquette along one wall, with many small tables filling the middle of the room. The noise level was fine as there were few tables on the Monday after thanksgiving, the music was fine. The lighting was a bit bright but not intolerable. We sat in one of the larger booths with a round table and found it easy to converse across the large table. Some of the wines were offered at half price, we had a nice pinot grigio - Gabriella, very crisp and semi-dry. We started with a plate of bruschetta, it was perfect and flavorful. Our attentive waitress let us know the specials of the evening and that most of the pasta dishes could be served as 'half portions', how nice! We had the following dishes: Melanzana Alla Parmigiana with fresh 'pappardelle pasta, Spaghetti e Polpette with meatballs, Pappardelle Al Funghi, Broccoli de Rabe Aglio de Olio and Fettuccine con Salsciccia. All dishes, even at half size, were very generous (the eggplant dish cannot be halved but I was more than happy to take home leftovers for lunch the next day!). Everything came to the table hot, we were offered fresh grated cheese and fresh ground pepper. All the dishes were flavorful and well prepared with a nice balance of spices in the sauces. The homemade pasta was delicious. We took home a serving of tiramisu (portion was huge) to eat later, it was delicious! We'll be back!
Server was very disinterested. Not rude, but inattentive and quite i accommodating.
Great Food !! The wait staff is outstanding impeccable service.
A lovely meal but I'm not sure it's worth the money.
Very knowledgeable waiter. Great food and service. Lots of options to choose from.
Decent food but nothing special about the service, ambience or decor.
Logan did a great job. Helped us make our entree choices and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our drinks before dinner.
excellent food, 2nd time there. does not disappoint!
