Steak was mediocre. Service was the same.
It was Valentines Day and they didn’t tell me I’d be forced to buy the prix fixe until the day before when it too late to make a reservation elsewhere. Kinda sleazy
Overpriced Valentine's Day meal that wasn't worth the money. At $80 per person, what we received should have been much better. First, they forgot our amuse bouche and didn't bring it until we reminded them it was part of the prix fixe. Considering this is a small restaurant with not that many tables, that wasn't acceptable. My appetizer was grilled octopus. I had to forage through the potatoes and greens to barely find the miniscule piece of octopus. Main course of duck was acceptable but uneventful. Overall, it was mediocre at best. If you can't produce a spectacular prix fixe menu then at least have the decency to allow us to order a la carte.
Great service, and food is amazing!
From bread through chocolate biscotti, the food was excellent, with the exception of a squash-burrata dish that was cold and bland, oddly uninspired for this interesting pairing. Ravioli was terrific (menu describes cream sauce but the dish was not noticeably creamy; great mixed wild mushrooms on top).
Noise depends entirely on time of day: a busy lunch on Friday was quite loud, but immediately thereafter quieted down to comfortable for coffee. Service was friendly and attentive. Not cheap but worth the money. Would definitely come back. The place is small, popular, and very close to Central Park and the Museum of Natural History, so strongly suggest reservations.
We had the Restaurant Week lunch: "SCREPELLE M’BUSSE" which was three folded, cheese-stuffed egg crepes in chicken broth, delicious; and meatballs, three of them, tasty. Mains were a very generous salmon with delicious farro on the side, and a tasty panini filled with porchetta.
The restaurant is very small – we counted 11 tables for two – so we'd advise reserving. Still, there were tables free when we ate about 1:00 PM.
Probably was my favorite Italian meal in the Upper West Side. The chef did an excellent job. Service was good as well. The restaurant is surprisingly small, but it gave off a modern/intimate vibe. Wold recommend to a friend.

It was great value for the restaurant week deal
I had lunch here the other day, and it was excellent. I had previously only come for coffee and breakfast (excellent European-style pastries), and was surprised and impressed by the breadth and quality of the menu. Nothing earth-shattering, but well-prepared Mediterranean dishes (fish, pasta, salad) with friendly service in a lovely neighborhood cafe setting. Highly recommended.

Was a friend's birthday and I indicated that on the reservation. Got seated at a nice table by the window. As soon as we ordered, didn't see our server again despite asking for a spoon for the pasta and some cheese. Could have used both as well as a 2nd glass of wine. Oh well.
A bit more attention would go a long way.
Love this place. It is tiny but gorgeously decorated. Very clean and welcoming. Our server was so wonderful and the food was out of this world. We came for restaurant week and I hope the butternut squash ravioli is a regular item because it was some of the best I’ve had. Will be back for sure!!!
One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants at any time of day -- from a cappuccino, to soup and a salad, a glass of wine, or a delicious dinner. Everything is simple and well done. Not an ounce of pretension. Pounds of charm.

Excellent, well-prepared food in a warm, cozy atmosphere. The room is small but comfy and the waiter was friendly and efficient. This was our second time, and we'll go back for sure.

I received an email from OpenTable on 11/13/19 advertising "World Week of Italian Cuisine." Several branches of "Tarallucci e Vino" including the Upper West Side location were listed as participating, so I made a reservation for lunch at the UWS branch for 11/24/19. When I and my friends arrived that day, we were told that the UWS branch of the restaurant was NOT participating in the "World Week of Italian Cuisine." We were surprised and disappointed, since that was the reason we decided to go there. We ended up staying and eating there anyway, even though we didn't appreciate the "bait amd switch." Will probably not return there because of that.
A small and intimate venue, lovely service, and very tasty food attractively presented. The wine-pouring style is always a joy to watch. Good choice for when you want to comfortably chat with your dinner pals over excellent fare.

It started off badly. It was a very cold & windy night & I struggled to push (or pull) the door open. Both staff members at reception saw me through the glass, and both were clearly looking at me, but nobody had the instinct to help me out, no motion or gesture. Not very welcoming. The restaurant was practically empty so it’s not as if they were overrun. Beet salad was very limp, greens didn’t feel fresh, with 2 tiny pieces of cheese & a vinaigrette that didn’t feel like it contained any decent grade olive oil. All in all, an unjustifiably overpriced salad. Octopus dish just barely ok. Felt like the octopus had been grilled or seared earlier & reheated. This was an overpriced & unsatisfying meal. I have eaten at the union square location & remember it being far better.
One of my favorite spots on the Upper West Side. Highly recommend one of their cheese boards.
Decent salads, tasteless artichoke soup, raw meatballs which the server got sarcastic about, although she did comp part of the check. Oh, and absurd prices. Yet another grain of sand in the food desert that is the UWS.

Food was great, tables are tiny and cramped. Very noisy - had to shout to be heard.
Extensive wine list - but make sure you specify exactly which bottle you want. Our server “upgraded” our Gavi to the black label Gavi. I’m sure it was an innocent mistake but made us all very uncomfortable. Food was tasty but very limited menu. It was ok but better choices in nyc
This is friendly, neighborhood restaurant with tasty Italian based dishes. It has small tables and a bar where you can eat too. It was very lively when we were there for lunch.

Food was good but there was absolutely no service. Maybe they were short staffed that night but unfortunately very poor dining experience due to lack of service.

Lovely , small, restaurant. The branzino was prepared very well and the salad was delicious. I am very picky and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this restaurant. I will absolutely return.
Met a neighborhood friend for dinner and to catch up on life events - charming service, delicious food with sizable portions of fish (I had Branzino, my friend Salmon). I would have enjoyed a bit larger amount of accompanying veggies & eggplant purée. Caesar salad w/julienned kale terrific. Lemon tart delightful.
Pre Delacorte in Central Park, necessitated finding a restaurant close to the park. As I have been to two other Vino... I made the reservation and was not disappointed. As with the others, the hostess and server were most accommodating and the food was outstanding. We shared the burrata appetizer and each had the scallops. Both were excellent. But my preference is still for their fantastic pastas. Next time. Friendly atmosphere in a locals restaurant .
