Great food and wonderful atmosphere!
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere , food is not bad, but not very exciting.
They could not find my reservation. Clearly I had one since the confirmed my points
Location of restaurant is ideal, tables are a little close together, staff is pleasant but don't check with tables often enough, I will continue going there regularly...
Excellent food, if overpriced. Spacious comfortable restaurant, nearly empty at 7:15 on a Saturday night. Pop music was too loud and a contrast to the environment and price point they otherwise seemed to be aiming for.
Best octopus I have eaten outside of Spain! Service was attentive without hovering. Very friendly staff. Portions were perfect and plenty of choice. It was a little noisy for a serious conversation but I would definitely go back again. The Upper West side location is great as well.
I love this place. Very helpful location, great pasta, fun staff. Just had the orecchiette. It was perfect.
I visit here a lot for coffee and pastries. Those are great here.
2nd time for dinner. Not the best Italian food and mediocre service for the price on the menu.
The service was a little haphazard. We were ordering off the restaurant week menu. I chose soup and was offered to have it hot or cold. I ordered it hot but the waiter kept confirming cold soup. I reiterated a number of times I wanted it hot but it still came out as chilled soup. When I sent it back, he looked confused as if I had changed my mind. The overall flavor of the soup was just ok. It was kind of watery and lacked any depth of flavor - it was Potato and Cauliflower soup.
My main course was a Duck Ragu pasta which was delicious and I would order that again.
We ordered a dessert and coffee. The lemon meringue desert was more of a lemon tarte - outstanding. However, we had to follow up on our coffees as they didn't arrive.
Overall, it was ok but not great
Our waiter treated us as if he were in our places. Perfection.
Friendly, professional service, great Branzino and ravioli special for Restaurant Week choices. Dined early and left before the crowd. Fancy drink menu and good wine choices. Thanks
Great service! Very attentive server and assistant. The food was absolutely incredible to the last bite. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
Delicious Restaurant Week lunch! Great value and lots to choose from!
Comfortable inside and nice service.
Came for restaurant week brunch and loved the meal. Would come back!
Classic Italian spot, casual with nice ambiance. Their main focus is the pastas so definitely go with one of those! Priced fairly for Manhattan and portion size is average.
Mediocre. Had to ask for bread— of course, not warmed. Food bland, wine so-so, $$$. A casual dining spot would have been tastier, more nourishing, and more fun. Waitress minimally attentive. A shame— just a little effort could have made it a good discovery for our party of four.
I was very surprised at how much my guests and I enjoyed this restaurant.
As a side note, I love good grilled octopus and I have tried it at a number of really high end restaurants such as Milos and Limani. The grilled octopus at Tarallucci blew them all away. Absolutely fantastic - best I ever tasted.
Excellent food and service. I’ll be back.
We arrived at 10:30 to be seated and the waiter came promptly to take our drink order. Forty minutes later we still didn't have coffee. Went to speak with the hostess to alert her that we did not have coffee. It still took too long for the coffee to arrive at our table. Service throughout the meal was spotty at best. Was difficult to attract the attention of our waiter.
The taste of most of the food was very good although it was not quite what we expected based on the menu description. For example: "HOUSE BRIOCHE, SCRAMBLED EGGS, ROSEMARY HAM, PROVOLONE, BLACK TRUFFLE AIOLI, HOME FRIES" This ended up being a glorified egg sandwich that had been pressed on a panini grill. Ham was fairly tasteless. It was fairly disappointing. We also ordered french toast; it arrived burnt and had to be sent back, which they did willingly.
Overall, the dining experience was disappointing and I would not recommend the restaurant to a friend.
Our waiter was great. But it is more expensive than average. We paid $100 per person
Unfortunately the service was very slow. We had to approach our waiter several times while he was just hanging out at the service station. He also told the table next to ours all about the day’s specials but didn’t mention them to us. . The very small portion of spaghetti with sauce that I ordered for my young daughters was $21 each, an adult entree price. When I mentioned this to the waiter upon receiving the bill he said, yes, the other table with children just complained about the same thing. Unfortunately the price is the price. Needless to say, despite the tasty food and nice ambience, we will never be back.
Yes, absolutely do I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for authentic Italian food. We enjoyed our brunch because the menu included american standards with fun Italian twists (Nutella on French toast and truffle oil on brioche egg sandwich). Great place.
Always a pleasure here. Squid ink pasta especially good!
Fun place for after-work drinks and snacks. Nice pours of wine and great charcuterie.
I'm a big fan of Tarallucci e Vino Union Square. It's such an unassuming place but the food and wine are both, terrific. The number of times I've been there I've always had great customer service which means a lot to me. The noise level is pretty manageable despite a space that's more long and narrow than it is wide. I would describe this restaurant as "cozy," but in a good, friendly way!
Great service and amazing food
I always LOVE my dinners here - such great atmosphere and delicious, creative, yet unfussy menu. Thanks!
Went there after my daughters graduation. They accommodated my reservation change. Staff were professional food very good.
I have often counted on T&V Union Square to meet up with friends and business associates. Always convenient and nice ambiance, good food choices for different kinds of eaters. I met a business associate this week for an 8:30 breakfast and left feeling embarrassed that I had chosen it. There were only a few tables taken but we barely got any attention or service. When breakfast came they only brought mine and then that was it, ignored for 5-10 minutes. I finally walked to the front of the restaurant to find our waiter and ask him about my guest’s meal, which clearly had never gotten put into the kitchen. They never cleared our plates, even delivering the check to a table full of dirty dishes and not touching them. It was just so strange and now I have to find another go-to near Union Square. Any ideas?
Made a reservation for our team dinner and it was fantastic. Everyone liked the ambiance, food and location (close to our office). We definitely plan on returning for our next team dinner.
Great food, great wine, great service!
Definitely will return!
I would go back to the restaurant because all of the food we were served was very good. But we had a difficult experience with the wait staff. We were seated for our reservation promptly. One member of our party was not there but they said that was fine.
Burrata was great and the cacio e pepe was really good. Our dessert was fantastic as well. Coffee served was strong and delicious, with hot milk provided (such a nice touch).
Where the restaurant fell flat was the service. The server we had took a long time in coming back to our table to allow us to order extra drinks and inquire about our orders of main dishes. A friend asked for a taste of wine, and rather than taking everyone else's drink orders, server disappeared, someone else brought out the wine taste, and server didn't reappear to actually take the orders until several minutes later. Disconnect between the bar and the wait staff seemed apparent. We ordered two appetizers, when one arrived and the other didn't, we asked about it and the server told us point blank "you did not order that." Dude, even if we didn't, pretend that it was your mistake? That was weird.
The layout of the tables was awkward. The tables are extremely heavy and jammed up against the bench side, so that in order for anyone sitting on the bench side to get out you had to push extremely hard up against the table. Any other restaurant would have chosen a table that is lighter given the arrangement. Our seating was right up next where the glassware was stored, which by the way is in totally open air shelving. Inevitably, I broke a water glass on my way out while trying to squeeze between the ridiculously heavy table and the storage wall.
Tarallucci, your food is so wonderful, please just examine the little touches and the service.
Very accommodating. Delicious. Will definitely return.
The service was great, but the brunch food was so-so. I prefer it for wine & small plates/happy hour.
Matt was an excellent server. The service was excellent as was the food, our experience was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend for any occasion.
Music when we first sat down around 6:00 pm on a Saturday night was quite loud -- and I asked our waiter if they could turn it down. It's not usually so loud at this restaurant. It was turned down for a while, but then later with a full restaurant, music was loud again -- and people were talking over the music. Instead of being able to enjoy conversation with my dinner companions, we were battling the noise to hear each other across the table. It spoiled an otherwise enjoyable dinner.
If I wanted a club experience on a Saturday night, I'd go to a club. This was not what I was expecting from a restaurant I dine at frequently.
Even though we made a reservation for a table and there was a bar in the front of the restaurant, we only ordered drinks so I cannot speak on the food here. However, they have a wonderful glass of prosecco for $11 here and it was not crowded, despite being a Thursday evening. Great place to take friends. Wait staff was very courteous and accommodating.
