Love the cappuccino in the mornings, had lunch which is always good, Service was a bit off on this visit which is unusual. Food is very good, good portions plenty of choices, fresh, fun and then you get to have their coffee.
A staple in the neighborhood.
Lovely atmosphere for a smallish business dinner, wonderful service and yummy food. Would totally recommend for business or personal!
Started off fine, food was decent, but as restaurant got busy, the noise level became unworkable... very unpleasant.... lots of very loud diners and not good acoustics.... bad combo.... wouldn't go
back for that main reason....
We had a nice business lunch however it was really loud that day. The food is outstanding and the prix fix great value. I had the farro salad it was so flavorful and filling. We'll be back. Great location for people coming for all parts of town.
Valentine’s Day dinner
The staff was wonderful and warmly accommodated our requests.
Unbelievably noisy, couldn't hear one another speaking. Would not return.
We went during Restaurant Week and we loved this restaurant. The atmosphere has a European flair and the pasta was fresh and homemade. The desserts were fabulous. We would go again and looking forward to trying other options.
Service was TERRIBLE. Food was good, but service slow, plus he got our order wrong. Won’t ever go back, overpriced.
Met an old friend for brunch during Restaurant Week. Neither of us had ever been and we were both so pleasantly surprised! Delicious food, friendly staff and great ambience (busy but not overly so). The $29 brunch menu was terrific and had enough variety to suit our tastes.
Went for brunch with a friend and it was delicious. My only problem was that the pre fixed brunch menu was a little misleading. We were under the impression that the course came with dessert but it doesn’t. It wasn’t a big deal but it could have been clearer . At one point I think the waiter forgot about us but he was overall very nice .
It was my first NYC restaurant week experience, and it was awesome.
I live in the neighborhood and had an awful experience. Very disappointing. I was having dinner with a friend whom just recovered from surgery and celebrating her recovery. We were not informed by the waiter that if one of us orders from the restaurant week menu the other must order same or enteee. I should have been informed prior as I was looking forward to octopus appetizer along with a salad and felt forced to order the scallops entree which was dry and unsatisfactory. I will reiterate how disappointed I am and will not return. Also, waitstaff should truly communicate more effectively.
We chose this restaurant because we wanted to sample authentic Italian cuisine. The ambiance is comfortable and not overdone. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, when I made the reservation, I didn't pay attention to the hours of operation. In the winter, the restaurant closes at 5:00pm. Our reservation was for 4:30. However our server, Brandon, was attentive, and we never felt rushed. What we were disappointed by was that we were only able to order from the brunch menu. This was not clearly stated on their website. However, we enjoyed the meal . My husband had the Polipo. He found it to be very tasty. I had the Spaghetti alla Pomodoro. I found the portion to be small, but tasty. I would recommend this for a quick bite.
Everything was quite good. The only negative was the music speakers were above our table and as the evening progressed, the volume increased and we were unable to get the management to comply with lowering the volume . Excellent go to authentic Italian with a creative chef. The sound system should be repositioned to not be such an annoyance.
We did not enjoy our visit. The portions were small and the prices were high for what we were served. They were not very accommodating when it cane to making changes to an entree. Menu was limited. Also, there should be a kids menu.
I had a great brunch today. There was a wide variety of options!
Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Really great neighborhood restaurant.
Nice quiet atmosphere, great wine selection.
Great food but they changed waiters 3x on us and it took about 35 mins to get the check
Waited one hour for food that never came. This placed used to be awesome :(
I am a regular at Tarallucci and the food is always great. However, the service is a hit or miss. This time truly a miss. Why does this always happen when the place is NOT busy?
Very average food. Prices are on par for the neighborhood. Service okay nothing great. Place is cute but I won’t go back anytime soon.
We got a last minute reservation - and honestly, the fact that we had to wait isn't the real problem I had with this place. First our server and the bartender was awful. While we waited (more than an hour) for our table, the bartender was unbelievably rude to us. He glared at us and gave us one word answers. Before that, we waited 20 minutes for his attention. Then when our table was ready, he made a big deal about transferring the bottle to our table, even though we ASKED if we could transfer the bottle to our table when we ordered it. Two of us separately ordered the agnolotti but the server brought gnocchi. So while we waited for our correct order, our friend finished his food. Then our food came. None of us was too impressed with the food, but it was passable. The food was mediocre for the price and the number of incredible Italian places in the neighborhood (Union Square). There was no apology made for our food being served so late. We decided to split a glass of wine, so our friend could kill time while we finished our meal. They should have comped it. Instead they charged us for the gnocchi AND the agnolotti. When I caught the mistake, it took 15 minutes to take it off the bill.
We LOVED this place! We went to the Union Sq. Holiday Market and were looking for a place to dine nearby, and found this lovely restaurant by pure luck and were able to get squeezed in for a table.
The service from the gentleman who took care of us was wonderful. They have gluten-free substitutions for all their pastas, which meant I was in heaven! The food was absolutely delicious and the wine list was also very extensive and well-varied. We were disappointed because the first 2 bottles of wine we ordered were not actually available, but they hadn't updated the menu yet. The young lady who took over after our server went home was (as expected) not very attentive, otherwise we were most pleased with this restaurant in every way.
I love this place for breakfast and lunch. Dinner seemed over priced.
Ran out of some of the menu items. Took very long to get check. Wait staff didn’t check in on us.
In a city full of great neighborhood restaurants, our meal was unremarkable at best. The meatball appetizer was flavorless. My pasta could have come out of a grocers refrigerator. The roast chicken was the only thing that stood out and that was likely because the other items were so bland.
It is a friendly place, with a varied menú and with a completed italian wine list.
Good service and a careful attention of the staff.
A place to recommend.
I had a great dinner out with my girlfriend!
The food was excellent, the house made pasta was on spot, I had the squid ink spaghetti, which isn't something found everywhere, and it was delicious. The food is fresh and the service was fantastic, our server was attentive, but didn't hover, giving us space to talk and enjoy our dinner and our wine.
It goes in my list of favorites, and will be on tap for when I'm in that part of the city!
Great food. Service started out attentively , then diminished during the evening. Very loud at first then got quieter. A bit pricey but food was very good.
Tasty food, reasonably priced; attractive environment, helpful service
Very nice late brunch with family and friends. Good selection of brunch dishes, decent (if short) wine list.
Food is fine but nothing special. However the service is horrible every single time.
Good, just not great value. $25+ for small-ish pasta portions
Good food, exelent service and fantastic wine. A bit noisy, but who cares...
Food was good, but music a bit loud and cappuccino came cold...
We often come here for work lunches. It can get a little noisy at time, but the overall vibe and location is great. Good food - most of us usually stick with the pre-fixe lunch options which is plenty of food.
Besides the hostess being unable to find out reservation, T&V was a good dining experience. Would be open to trying it again.
