   Extremely dissatisfied with OpenTable and Tara Restaurant. We made our booking online through OpenTable and received their confirmation. HOWEVER, three days before prior to the our booking, we were contacted by Hatton Court only to be informed that they had 'just received the booking requests from OpenTable and were already fully booked and unable to honour the reservation'. This resulted in a high level of disappointment and distrust of both OpenTable and Hatton Court as clearly their lines of communication are somewhat fractured. I will not be using OpenTable again as a result of their systems being unreliable and misleading! AVOID and make your bookings directly if you want to be certain that they will be honoured,

   Very nice food but we’re a little rushed - sat down 8pm and by 10pm they were rushing us for dessert choices and setting up for breakfast

   Very short staffed, the staff that were working were excellent, led well by Michael the Bar and Restaurant Manager, without his leadership it would have been an absolute disaster, far too many diners for 3 staff !!!!

   Vegetables served separately would be a good idea instead of everything piled on plate . Carrots and broccoli were more than al dente -more suited to a salad. No one offered to take my coat nor could I find anywhere to hang coats. Bill folder arrived at my table badly stained and sticky! Plates vaguely warm -unfortunately not a good Mother’s Day experience.

   Very disappointing and disgusted with our visit - i booked an afternoon tea as a treat for my mother. The sandwiches were not fresh seemed like they had been made a day before as the bread was stale. There was hardly any meet filling more like the fat of the ham. There were at least 15 blue bottle fly’s in the window by the table . One fly touched the food. We were going to ask for these to be replaced but could see other people in the restaurant having issues with flies also. There was also a mess under the table. We just had get out of there as it was grim and not a pleasant experience and did not expect this from this hotel.

   Over all it was good, however, some of the fillings in the sandwiches at afternoon tea were a little lacking, especially the cream cheese and cucumber, not much of either of this in them. Also I would of preferred the television off and different music not pop music, maybe some classical or just instrumental. Staff were lovely and I would possibly return.

   We had afternoon tea & an evening meal at this restaurant & everything food, staff & view was lovely definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Was pleasantly surprised at how stunning the Tara Restaurant was. Lovely decor, accompanied by a fantastic view of the Malverns and a lovely, attentive waitress. Fantastic value for money afternoon tea for 2, evidently everything was homemade with a great selection of cakes and scones. However, I felt the sandwich fillings were lacking in flavour and appearance compared to the rest of the afternoon tea. Other than that minor detail, I would highly recommend.
