Taqueria Tsunami - Sandy Springs
Friday & Saturday: 11:00am - 11:00pm
Unique menu, guacamole is a MUST, avoid live entertainment (loud).
My husband & I had the perfect date here! No wait, good service, good food, good prices!!! The live music was a fun addition :) We will definitely be going back!
Tasty menu and cocktails. Avocado egg rolls are awesome. Tacos are consistently skimpy on meat. Fast service.
The waiter wasn't very knowledgeable at first. Once he asked others to help it got better. Different taco flavors. Nice
We came to celebrate 2 birthdays and I put that in the notes when making the reservation. There were also gift bags and flowers at the table. Our server didn't acknowledge the celebration at all. The food was decent but it took a long time and our server seemed to disappear. It was a slow night with not a lot of customers. Overall, not impressed with the service.
Food is excellent, but the service is very slow and there is no ambiance, whatsoever. However because of the tasty food and value we will continue to go.
This was my first time visiting Taqueria Tsunami. The atmosphere was great. The food was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to going back real soon.
Food was very good. Drinks were good. Service was good. Only complaint is they close very early.
I really like the food options and the freshness of the food. Margaritas were yummy and tacos were great. Complimentary chips and salsa with meals would be appreciated.
This place was awesome!!! The menu is quick and easy and affordable. Drinks are also great!!! Hostess very friendly.
Awesome find and a must try!!
First time there on a early Sunday afternoon, service was excellent, we had the guamole and chips which were fabulous, i had the tacos and she had the salad. All of the food was delicious. Definitely will return
It was a very slow night, compared to other nights that we have dined here. We had 7:30 reservations, walked in and we were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and got the orders correct. In spite of the fact that this was a particularly slow night, it was still loud. We have been here several times, and have enjoyed our meal's each time.
We started with guac and chips appetizer (not free). Chips are a little salty--just enough to taste right. Guac is excellent, in the opinion of the five of us there. I had 2-taco/one side combo. Between the chips, the Hawaiian taco, and the salad, I couldn't eat the second taco. The tacos aren't huge, but big enough. Service was very friendly, but food took awhile to come out. It wasn't all that busy, so maybe it's just that excellence takes time.
My reservation was for 8:30 pm that evening. I got to the restaurant around 8:20 pm and the hostess stated that they would seat us in 5 minutes because they had to clean off some tables. Then she came back 10 minutes later saying it would be about 15 to 20 minutes. After about 30 minutes we asked told the hostess that we would go to the bar, and she said she would come get us when our table was ready. As we walked to the bar, we saw at least 6-8 tables that were empty. We decided to have a drink at the bar, however, the hostess never returned to inform us about our table. We left after 30 minutes.
Went there on 5/5 but really no excuse for waiting 30 min for water (that came without straws) and 45 min for drinks. Once the food and drinks finally showed up they were actually quite good.
One of the worst dining experiences. Waited for 15 minutes for a table with a reservation. Ordered margaritas and guacamole. Waited over half an hour for another margarita. Food was ordered and over an hour later, no food. Watched as food orders were constantly taken to wrong tables. Wait staff running around like chickens and making no progress. The restaurant was half empty!! The manager finally came over almost 30 minutes after we asked to speak with him. While the guacamole was delicious and the drinks we did get were good, the service was absolutely terrible.
NEGATIVE 10 STARS IF POSSIBLE. 7:30 reservations. Arrived 7:25. Get told to wait 20 minutes. Fine..we understood it’s cinco de mayo. After our 20 minutes we were told it’d be another 10. As I’m sitting at the bar looking at empty tables outside I send my bf to the front desk AGAIN to ask the host how much longer. The host comes back five minutes later with menus and brings us to the empty table that was eyeing me for ten minutes prior. After 20 minutes of nobody coming, I go BACK to the host to explain we all were starving, just got off work ourselves after not eating all day, and if he could just please get some chips out to the table. Ten minutes pass. Nothing. After watching the 6th employee look at my table thru the window from inside, I got up and for what felt like the millionth time, I go to the host stand and asked for a manager. Who used the excuse that they were busy? Obviously but can your restaurant not handle busy times? Mind you: at this point it’s 830 and it’s no where near as busy as when we got there. He gave me a card with his number and said he’d take of us when we came back. Wooptydoo. My first and LAST time going to that place. Disturbing.
I went with some friends on Cinco de Mayo. Although the restaurant was not as busy as a typical Tex-Mex or Mexican restaurant would be on that night, they seemed a bit out of sorts. It took a while for the waitress to come greet us after we first sat down and our food took much longer than it should’ve. However, the margaritas were very good and the food was good and reasonably priced.
This was one of the worst dining experiences we've had this year. They were apparently so understaffed that a) nobody could come to our table to greet us or take our order for over 10 minutes until we flagged someone down, b) nobody could ever come check if we need more chips for the two appetizers that we ordered, c) nobody could bring us silverware, plates, nor napkins for the appetizers, d) nobody could properly complete the entrees, two of which were missing items that are on the menu, and e) nobody from management was ever seen in the restaurant. In summary, an absolutely miserable experience.
We found our experience at Taqueria Tsunami to be disappointing. The food was fine but relatively mediocre, and the service was haphazard.
Wow - I am food spoiled because we have owned restaurants our whole life. This was so good! The food was excellent - fresh, tasty, and affordable. The flavors were spot on. You know a good restaurant when their focus is on good, fresh and tasty food. I will definitely be back!!! If you need a suggestion, I would get the tacos - any of them!! With a side of yucca - perfect!!!!
Lovely patio. Very nice , light & tasty food
The service was fast and good. The food was delicious
Great patio!! Food is good and the margaritas are great!
First time at TT and was very pleasantly surprised. Service was great after a waiter was assigned to the table, and that really didn't take that long. Had a selection of the Asian inspired tacos/wraps and everyone's was delicious. Very reasonably priced as well. Cocktails were very good, particularly their tequila old fashioned. Will be back again!!
I had the chicken enchilada bowl and it wasn't what I'd expected. The rice was sticky and needed a little season/kick to it. Also, I did order chips and salsa along w/coke. Server brought out only coke and not my chips and salsa as an app. I had to tell him to bring it and not w/my entree. Affordable. My first visit. Won't be back. Should've went next door to El Azteca or Tin Lizzy's.
I love the overall feel! Valet helps your right away, great entrance. Food was delicious and lots of options for a good price.
Great ambience and roof top seating. Food was okay not as great as I expected, except the cauliflower appetizer was delicious. Great service
I had a bowl for lunch...it was good but a lot of rice. Wish that brown rice were an option and a little more variety in the dish. My friend had the Pacific rim and Thai chicken tacos which were delicious. Also the hummus is very good. Enjoy!
Interesting menu with a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Service was prompt and attentive, food was excellent. Will definitely return.
Love this new location!! The servers are courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. Our fav appetizer is the Korean Fried Cauliflower and Avocado Rolls. Oh and the cocktails are very nice...especially the Mules and Margaritas
I've been to other locations but this was our first time visiting this location of Taqueria Tsunami. The food and service were both excellent. They were still working out some logistics with the valet parking but other than that it was perfect.
A bunch of friends eating out after a play
A new restaurant to all but me
MJ and the staff are so special
Great food and nice atmosphere!
We had wonderful service and delicious food! We’ll be back!!!!
Good, unique tacos and dishes. Service from Amando was also nice, but we had to remind him of our request for additional drinks 2-3 times. The best nights to visit are probably during the week. Avoid it on nights where they have valet service. It's mandatory, and very slow. I waited 5-7 min to drop my car off because the backlog was so large.
