Ate an early dinner at the bar, great pub grub, nice atmosphere and very friendly bartender & staff.
Food was very good. Service was a little slow since it was so busy, but good overall.
Great service, food and beer! Definitely will stop in again.
Great sitting in patio. Great beer/cocktail selection. Ordered shrimp scampi on linguine. Ate two shrimp which were flavorless and a forkful of the pasta/scampi sauce. It was completely devoid of flavor and blah. I NEVER EVER send anything back. This was first time in 58 years. I should have just ordered a burger.
Went here for the first time with friends. We enjoyed the food although we wish we New the cheesesteak egg rolls came with ketchup on top. We would have ordered them with it on the side bc it is a lot of ketchup. The beer list was good, however there were a ton of IPA’s on draft, a few stouts, but not much else for variety. The waitress did a great job and the patio was really nice. We’d definitely go back
Excellent as usual. Went for "new brunch". Was very pleased and food was excellent.
Had a great brunch!
Drinks were small for price
Quizzo night here is a blast!
Always enjoy eating here!
My server Natlie was Awesome, everything was great!
Was awesome as always food great service excellent overall great night !
Recently dined at this restaurant and was seated in the "winterized" outdoor seating area. It was cold and every time the outside door opened more cold area was blasted into the area. Unfortunately this set the mood for the entire evening.
The food offerings were fine for a bar atmosphere; wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for a nice dinner. The noise level was loud, but it was even louder in the inside bar area.
2nd time to Taproom. 1st time, good experience so went back. Ordered mango hab wings as app for table. My son ❤️ so much he ordered for dinner. Other son ordered hot wings. Bought out hot wings for both. Let waitress know and she told us we were wrong. All 6 of us had the mango as app and tasted that this was not what was brought out now. Waitress reluctantly took them to kitchen and came right out and said cook retossed in mango wing sauce. They took hot wings and then tossed in mango! Not the way to correct their mistake. We then ordered a burger for my son. Double tossed wings were digusting and too hot for my son. In the end they didn’t charge for wings but waitress and kitchen could have and should have handled better. Dont mind mistakes, but don’t tell us you didn’t make a mistake that was totally obvious when 2 plates of same kind of wings are in front of us and we had just had the other kind! Too many other places that have good food AND good service! Won’t be going back to Taproom23.
Great place for a business lunch.
The Taphouse 23 is a real find in the cozy borough of Bridgeport. It has always been one of my favorites but since Rich Furino has taken over management I've enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drinks more frequently. Great service, an outdoor eating area that you'll find truly unique (covered and heated in the winter months, and a great indoor bar area for the authentic bar enthusiast. Great signature drinks and a wide variety of excellent cuisine. Everyone is welcome.
Great food, people and service and enjoyable experience every time
We came with a group of 11 to eat and watch an Eagles game. We were initially seated in the dining room but wanted a more energetic setting for the game. The staff was very accommodating in moving us, even moving tables and chairs around to seat us all together. We had a good view of the game from all seats. We ate mostly lots of appetizers and sandwiches which were very good. The dry rub wings were outstanding. Prices were very reasonable, food and drinks were very good. We’ve been here before for games and will be back again!
Waiter was NOT ATTENTIVE
Keeping it local; will definitely come back. Good food and drinks.
This was the third time we ate at Taphouse 23. The first two experiences were exceptional. The third was a little less. Our waiter told us they were out of some of the Holiday Beers, only to find out from the manager that they were still available. He saved the night by bringing us a complimentary beer. All the meals were great; however, I recommended the filet mignon sliders to my daughters boyfriend. His did not contain the amount of meat I had received; he was a little disappointed. We will return.
We always enjoy our visit to Taphouse 23. The food is consistently good along with the friendly service. Overall always an enjoyable experience.
We went to celebrate and were very happy with the food and service. Wait staff was attentive and very nice. Food was delicious. Will definitely come back !
good decor. Great beer selection. Apps were better than entries. A fun place
Good food and atmosphere
Wonderful expirience!! My family is from Bridgeport and this jewel of a restaurant is absolutely worth the trip. Philadelphia Magazine lists Taphouse 23, in their Restaurants section. Easy to find, ample parking and the chef is very accommodating, if you have a dietary concern. It's a Must Go!!!
Nice. Servers need more training. Server reached inside my water glass to take it to refill it. Placed her fingers inside the glass and then refilled it. Gross. We ordered coffee and dessert and we got the coffee and had to wait for cream, sugar and spoons. We had finished our dessert. It took away from the experience of the chocolate cake. I missed having coffee with it. When they brought the cream they brought one serving for each of us. We had to ask for more and there was another delay to enjoy our coffee. I would suggest an experienced adult be present as the host or hostess to monitor the servers and keep things running smoothly. I had guests for dinner and the service was embarrassing. I would think twice before going back. It was exasperating watching the servers run by and we sat and waited for things. Very poor.
Food was good. Cheese steak egg roll appetizer was excellent.
Waitress was very nice but service was slow.
Service was abysmally slow...we waited about an hour before getting our food. The food was not worth the wait.
It was ok but really just ok. Seemed to be a bit short staffed and the staff that was there seemed well intentioned but somewhat confused.
Beer was good food was good but neither were memorable. We go about once a year. Seemed better previously. Maybe just an off night.
Every time I go the food is excellent! Love the ambiance on the patio!
We have eaten here on many occasions but this one wasn't as good as the others. We got there and the person who seated us didn't seem to know how to look up our reservation. He put us in the bar area, in the corner, and I think the server kept forgetting about us. It took a while to even get the menus. Then too much time to get apps, drinks and dinner. Then with dinner, one person ordered the crab cakes and it was supposed to come with tarter sauce and it didn't come out with the meal. She then asked for tarter sauce and the server didn't come back for 10 minutes. Then when she did, she said it was going to take 20 minutes to make the tarter sauce. We asked for a different sauce and then the server never came back for another 15 minutes. By the time the server came back, the food was ice cold. I have never had this much issue at this restaurant. I don't know if it was a new server or the kitchen but it was not the best dining experience.
I have been to this restaurant a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is very good and the service is great. It was the first time for my dining companion and she thoroughly enjoyed it and plans to return.
The Cesar salad & Philly Cheesesteak rolls had a really pretty & creative presentation - plus tasted sooooo good.
The Sesame Tuna main course was a remarkable portion - enough for dinner & leftover lunch yum!
Arugula side salad was crisp & fresh - house vinagrette was smooth...
We met the owner - very friendly & interesting story. Wish him the best in this new venture!
Also note - they have a live DJ at the outdoor area 4-8pm - great fun idea!
My first visit and it was just ok. It was slow but our waitress must have been busy somewhere else because we could not find her to pay our bill to leave. My tuna tartar tasted like air; I did not eat it and was not asked if I liked it.
Taphouse was very accommodating. The space is wonderful. Minor miscommunication regarding our table selection, but once a spot opened up later they provided that table. Our servers were fast and friendly. The pizza was delish! Only down side is the music wasn’t really Saturday night music.. had the music been better we would have all stayed and danced the night away! Instead we all departed and met up at another location.
Great food, good service and pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely go back again
The patio is a great place to hang. Very lively. The service was great and the food was good.
We passed this restaurant in the afternoon. It looked really cool with the wide open windows. I pulled it up on Open Table and was able to make reservations for dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday with my family of four. There’s a large parking lot across the street as well as an overflow lot down the block. The building is large, too, so they must draw large crowds. I had reserved a table inside because I wasn’t sure how chilly it would be. We asked outside if there was any availability and were told the patio was booked. We continued inside and were told by one of the waitresses to take any table we wanted. We wanted to sit along the booth wall. There was a dirty table of 4, a two top, a four top, and one more occupied four top. We didn’t want to sit on top of the other diners so we tried to move a table to create a four top with the existing two top. This made sense to us but an angry waitress approached us with a surly “Can I help you?” When we tried to explain our logic, she started telling us about the large parties on the patio and how they needed to keep every table available. This really made NO SENSE to me. We had reservations and were told we could sit wherever we wanted. This was not an ideal way to start our first dinner at Taphouse 23. They were pretty good about taking our order and getting the food out. We had 2 orders of wings, sliders, crab dip, fat slab of bacon, and meatballs. I had a Diet Coke and everyone else had water. Everything was from the appetizer section except the sliders which were under handhelds. The food delivery was the last time we saw anyone. After waiting about 10 minutes, I finally got up to request our check at the podium. I think the man who brought it was the manager but he never asked if there was a problem or if everything was ok. Without any alcohol, our bill was $103. The food was ok. The service was very disappointing. I do not plan to return to this restaurant.
My party was 11 people at 430pm, not one other guest and the food took forever and tasteless. One of my guests waited 30 mins longer than the rest of us. Two of the guests took a few bites and pushed it away.
The place was pretty, but I would never recommend. The waitress was complaining in the backround about the cooks stressing her out. Just not what I was expecting.
