Food was good. Cheese steak egg roll appetizer was excellent.
Waitress was very nice but service was slow.
Service was abysmally slow...we waited about an hour before getting our food. The food was not worth the wait.
It was ok but really just ok. Seemed to be a bit short staffed and the staff that was there seemed well intentioned but somewhat confused.
Beer was good food was good but neither were memorable. We go about once a year. Seemed better previously. Maybe just an off night.
Every time I go the food is excellent! Love the ambiance on the patio!
We have eaten here on many occasions but this one wasn't as good as the others. We got there and the person who seated us didn't seem to know how to look up our reservation. He put us in the bar area, in the corner, and I think the server kept forgetting about us. It took a while to even get the menus. Then too much time to get apps, drinks and dinner. Then with dinner, one person ordered the crab cakes and it was supposed to come with tarter sauce and it didn't come out with the meal. She then asked for tarter sauce and the server didn't come back for 10 minutes. Then when she did, she said it was going to take 20 minutes to make the tarter sauce. We asked for a different sauce and then the server never came back for another 15 minutes. By the time the server came back, the food was ice cold. I have never had this much issue at this restaurant. I don't know if it was a new server or the kitchen but it was not the best dining experience.
I have been to this restaurant a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is very good and the service is great. It was the first time for my dining companion and she thoroughly enjoyed it and plans to return.
The Cesar salad & Philly Cheesesteak rolls had a really pretty & creative presentation - plus tasted sooooo good.
The Sesame Tuna main course was a remarkable portion - enough for dinner & leftover lunch yum!
Arugula side salad was crisp & fresh - house vinagrette was smooth...
We met the owner - very friendly & interesting story. Wish him the best in this new venture!
Also note - they have a live DJ at the outdoor area 4-8pm - great fun idea!
My first visit and it was just ok. It was slow but our waitress must have been busy somewhere else because we could not find her to pay our bill to leave. My tuna tartar tasted like air; I did not eat it and was not asked if I liked it.
Taphouse was very accommodating. The space is wonderful. Minor miscommunication regarding our table selection, but once a spot opened up later they provided that table. Our servers were fast and friendly. The pizza was delish! Only down side is the music wasn’t really Saturday night music.. had the music been better we would have all stayed and danced the night away! Instead we all departed and met up at another location.
Great food, good service and pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely go back again
The patio is a great place to hang. Very lively. The service was great and the food was good.
We passed this restaurant in the afternoon. It looked really cool with the wide open windows. I pulled it up on Open Table and was able to make reservations for dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday with my family of four. There’s a large parking lot across the street as well as an overflow lot down the block. The building is large, too, so they must draw large crowds. I had reserved a table inside because I wasn’t sure how chilly it would be. We asked outside if there was any availability and were told the patio was booked. We continued inside and were told by one of the waitresses to take any table we wanted. We wanted to sit along the booth wall. There was a dirty table of 4, a two top, a four top, and one more occupied four top. We didn’t want to sit on top of the other diners so we tried to move a table to create a four top with the existing two top. This made sense to us but an angry waitress approached us with a surly “Can I help you?” When we tried to explain our logic, she started telling us about the large parties on the patio and how they needed to keep every table available. This really made NO SENSE to me. We had reservations and were told we could sit wherever we wanted. This was not an ideal way to start our first dinner at Taphouse 23. They were pretty good about taking our order and getting the food out. We had 2 orders of wings, sliders, crab dip, fat slab of bacon, and meatballs. I had a Diet Coke and everyone else had water. Everything was from the appetizer section except the sliders which were under handhelds. The food delivery was the last time we saw anyone. After waiting about 10 minutes, I finally got up to request our check at the podium. I think the man who brought it was the manager but he never asked if there was a problem or if everything was ok. Without any alcohol, our bill was $103. The food was ok. The service was very disappointing. I do not plan to return to this restaurant.
My party was 11 people at 430pm, not one other guest and the food took forever and tasteless. One of my guests waited 30 mins longer than the rest of us. Two of the guests took a few bites and pushed it away.
The place was pretty, but I would never recommend. The waitress was complaining in the backround about the cooks stressing her out. Just not what I was expecting.
We had a great time at Taphouse 23. We have been there before, but this was our first time dining on the patio area. What a great location. The tables with the fire pits were a nice touch. Highly recommend Taphouse 23.
Noisy but fun bar and restaurant. Lots of beer choices and great dirty martini.
Good food and service. Lots of convenient parking available.
Great service. Really enjoyed the outdoor seating.
We like the food and the beer selection and have been here many times but this service was slooooooooow and between the number of unavailable beers on tap and our waiter not being able to remember drink orders, it was not as enjoyable as it could have been.
Met friends for a lunch, and had a Wonderful meal. Ate on the patio which is a great spot with tables that have fire pits. They have 35 beers on tap and are some great choices. Can’t wait to return and try the indoor dining, as that is wonderfully decorated.
We sat in the outdoor bar area to enjoy the live music, so the atmosphere was noisy and lively. Menu is mostly bar food. Pizza was excellent, and they offer a good selection of beer.
The waitress completely ruined our dining experience. She had a terrible attitude left our drinks at the bar forever, it was very frustrating.
First time we visited the food and drinks were spot on. This time, food was average at best. Women at a near by table were having a great time but extremely loud. Was not the dining experience we had hoped for, for a family birthday dinner. Would go back for bar but probably not dinner.
We met some friends from out of state here, and had a great table inside where we could actually have a conversation and hear each other! The food was delicious - crab cakes, salmon, cheese steak, chicken part - we all ate our plates clean! The key lime pie was SO good! There was a large party of guests upstairs but we couldn't even hear them. If it were cooler we definitely would've eaten outside. Great place!
Fun night out playing Quizo. Game was held in the outdoor bar area, which would have been great if not 90+ degrees and very humid. The two fans outside did nothing to help the temperature. Service was a little slow, but we were not in a rush. Overall a very good experience and would go back.
Prime Rib was great. My wife's favorite though are the tater tots.
Beer selection here was good and we had the best waitress who really knew her stuff! However, the food left much to be desired. We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer and it was barely warm. It had a VERY fishy smell so it was probably cheap crab. The Caprese salad lacked seasoning and the presentation was nothing to rave about either. The 3 cheese and spinach pizza was good but someone went overboard on the hot pepper! Whew! The Hamburger and fries were just ok. Don’t think we will return.
The service and the food was excellent. I has the chicken parmigiana and he portion was enough foe two meals. The owner introduced himself and check on our service. The wait staff was excellent.
Extremely great place to eat and have fun. Everyone is friendly and curtious. Very helpful and accomadating.
Great atmosphere. Great food.
First time visiting Taphouse 23. Everyone was very attentive. At least 5 different people came over to check on us, including the chef. The food was very good. I highly recommend the Fat Slab if you like bacon.
I booked online for outside reservations only to find out there was a private party and we could not sit outside. We left and went to another place
It's a big space w/ a large covered outdoor patio area. The inside space looks good. We ate outdoors on the covered patio. Food was good, but not memorable. Because of it's sheer size, it's likely going to be a tough space to make money. Can't see them getting enough traffic through the door. We were there on a Sat afternoon, and there was only one other table of four, and a couple of folks at the bar. Pretty grim, but I wish them well. Hope they succeed. It would be nice for Bridgeport.
The patio is beautiful, but we wanted to chat so we ate inside, as there was live music outside. I was happily surprised that the outdoor sound didn't carry inside. I had crab cakes, two had burgers, one had a steak. Everything was delicious, but I think the burgers won the day. And however they season the fries, they were amazing. We will be back!
This was a fun place, the outdoor patio is the place to be. There are a good selection of beers that change frequently and are reasonably priced. The food it pretty good, sometimes it is not consistent, so you have to be careful about what you order. The last time we went it was hot out and the dining room was literally freezing, A/C was up way too high.
Very noisy inside bar but the food was good and the blueberry lemon drop martini was amazing!
My wife and I went to Taphouse 23 with our daughter and grandson and we had a nice time. The food was tasty and the staff were very attentive. It was our daughter's birthday and they provided a free serving of ice cream for dessert which was a nice gesture. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and I would recommend Taphouse 23 for anyone looking for good food at a reasonable price.
we went there for fathers day, food ok.
I had white style beer muscles, they were on the salty side was hoping for garlic flavored
my husband had the sliders, a little overwhelmed by the bread, supposed to be filet mignon, meat was fatty, our daughter had the pot pie it was ok and my son had a sandwhich, overall food okay. Interestingly we had to wait a considerable time for our drinks however many tables were open, it seemed there was more staff drying glasses then actually tending the bar.
Not sure if we would go back
We don't go out for Sunday lunch often so didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't too noisy, service was excellent, food was delicious. Had a great time and would go back again.
the drinks were very weak. Ordered the Old fashioned and it had a soda in it and no alcohol at all. Then I ordered another of the drinks on the menu and sent it back. The Noise level was high on the Patio due to it not only being packed but the two person band playing at a higher than normal level. 150 a couple its not unreasonable but I could find a better value somewhere else.
Prime Rib on weekends! (Really good Prime Rib), nuff said.
