Sadly it was the last night for Tapeo. We have been repeat customers due to the wonderful service and excellent food. The owners are affiliated with Soleo in Waltham and Kika in Cambridge which we will have to try. Like many other businesses on Newbury Street the rents keep going up and up forcing many long time businesses out. We wish the staff well and best wishes for the future!

Tapeo was a real find. The small dishes are large enough for 5 people to share and each one was better than the last. First we asked about dairy and peanut free dishes, the waitress disappeared for a few minutes and brought back an edited menu with all the possibilities highlighted. We ordered a paella and 5 small plates. There was more than enough food. The paella was wonderful, as were the artichokes, cerviche, potatoes bravas, spinach and calamari. The service was exceptional and atmosphere lovely, especially because we were able to have a real conversation without having to raise our voices. We highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a great restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is prompt. This is my second time going. Always have gone for dates because the ambience is amazing. It is a very quiet atmosphere so it’s not a late night hangout.

Love the fried goat cheese balls. It's just too loud for me in the dining areas because of all of the reflective surfaces so I prefer to sit at the bar.

Wonderful selection of tapas and each was expertly prepared and delicious. Red sangria and sangria royal delicious. Especially enjoyed the fried goat cheese with honey and churros (ask for dulce de leche with it - it's not on the menu, but makes a nice pairing).

Food overall very good. Good for vegetarians as there were many selections . The space was tight kept bumping into person behind us and table rocked. They have a downstairs they should have put more people down there so we were not tightly packed.

Nice selection of tapas, including for vegetarians. Try traditional favorites like tortilla espanola, patatas bravas and garlic mushrooms along with goat cheese bites with honey and onion and lemon pasta with asparagus.

We showed up right at the time of our reservation and had to stand around for 15 minutes because the hostess wasn't there. The food was only alright. The beer battered short ribs and the empanadas are good but the calamari was not very good (rubbery and luke warm when it came out). The churros however were very enjoyable.

I love tapas restaurants and when I saw this one on a recent trip, I just had to go check it out. We were in Boston for business and two of my crew and myself went to dinner. The waiter had great suggestions and answered all our questions. My business partner and I are adventurous eaters, but the other crew member is not, yet even he found plenty to offer and enjoyed three dishes. And the dessert was spectacular. Highly recommended!

Wonderful selection of well-prepared, reasonably priced tapas. Perfect for an informal gathering, sharing, ordering on an as-you-go basis. Service was slow but attentive. Nice outside eating area. The indoor dining areas are comfortable but a bit grubby and could use some attention or fresh coat of paint.

Tapeo is a totally reliable tapas place that I've been to many times. They have all the tapas standards and good wine and (excellent and strong) cocktails. Service is attentive, the ambiance is pleasant and neither super-fancy nor a hole-in-the-wall. I'd always recommend trying the specials - we ordered two of them and they were our two favorites of the meal. I've dined here with my husband, with family, and with groups of colleagues and freinds - groups are the best because you get to try so many more things. I'll surely be back.

Try the duck- you won't be disappointed! Service was good and attentive. Timing of courses was good. Wine list was excellent, as were all of the tapas we tried! Will definitely be back!

The calamares were dry and tasteless. We asked the waitress to take them back and the churros were uncooked in the center. The paella was good, but it used to be so much better. Tapeo was our favorite but we will dine somewhere else in the future.

Great experience here! I have Celiac Disease, and Tapeo was fully equipped to accommodate. They have a great Gluten Free menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back soon.

Tapeo is an old favorite that does not disappoint. We went before a concert at Fenway and it was the perfect choice--good food, quick service and a short walk to the T. Also, I love the music there! The white sangria was delicious.

Every member of the staff with whom we interacted was clearly just phoning it in ... zero real care/desire to even be friendly. My date had been a hostess here years ago, and she was embarrassed by the dogs hit service.
