Excellent black bean soup , mixed salad, ham croquetas, beef empanada were all outstanding and came as generous portions. We ordered a chicken and chorizo paella which was delicious. Our waiter said we did not order too much food for two- we did, and took home about 1/4 of the paella. One less tapas would have been just right
Absolutely delicious and fresh examples of tapas menu; wait staff could not have been more helpful. Tapas Valencia is an exquisite venue for friends gathering on a Friday evening to step the weekend off on the right foot.
We loved our experience at Tapas Valencia. The food was amazing and service too. We will be back!
Great food. Service was friendly but slow. They need one or two more servers
We had a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch. I love the selection of Spanish tapas and American brunch food. This place is a great place for couples and families. I highly recommend !
Excellent food and service. Will definitely go again.
AWESOME service!! Our waitress, Nicole, was friendly and attentive and made sure we all had fun, got our food quickly and even recommended a great sangria for us to try. To top it all off we really enjoyed the live mariachi band and dancing. We are regulars at the Naperville Meson Sebika, but felt Tapas Valencia had a more relaxed, but party filled atmosphere, with the food we've come to expect.
Tapas Valencia is our "go-to" when in the South Loop! Consistent quality, service and ambiance. Try the bacon-wrapped dates...I don't know what they do differently with these little beauties, but you will become addicted.
Wonderful service, thanks Alex. Great food. 10/10 recommends.
Our server was phenomenal and very knowledgeable about the large menu and recommendations. We ordered over 7 tapas and each was amazing. Would recommend to anyone in the area or not even in the area!
Great food, surprisingly kid friendly with kids menu and crayons for them to color.
Tapas Valencia was an authentic tapas place. Their paella was excellent with plenty of sea food and paired with other tapas was plenty. The red sangria was also very good.
The food was good, but it was the worst service I ever had. Will never go back again.
The service was excellent and the staff friendly. Food and sangria were great! Also, we were there on a Saturday evening and there was a Spanish dancer, singing, and band. It was a lot of fun and a great place to relax. Also, (my own little thing) fabulous hand lotion dispenser in ladies room. I didn’t have to dig through my bag for mine after I washed my hands!
Really delicious food. Lots of options, many of which are unique to the cuisine and this location. From the cold options, the garlic potato salad is terrific and definitely don't miss the crab on toast points. Lots of hot options including perhaps the most delicious lamb chops I've ever tasted. Ordered lots of different dishes too many to detail here. Wine prices are reasonable as well.
We frequent Valencia's mother-ship, Meson Sebika, so we decided to give it a try when we were in the South Loop recently. They have the perfect blend of staying "true" to tradition while adding enough unique features to their menu to stand on their own. The food was delicious- serrano ham and manchego cold plate and the croquettes hot plate were fabulous!! Our server was also wonderful. We told her when we sat down that we'd be "rushing" to catch a train, and she timed everything perfectly and was super accommodating, without making us feel rushed! The only "complaint" was that the live music was SUPER loud...couldn't even talk to my husband across the table loud...but some people like that. I would have rather toned it down a bit.
A little off the beaten path but well worth it. Delicious, fresh, and creative tapas. The sangria is amazing and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere is festive and upbeat. Most of all the food is of high quality and an authentic taste of Spain. Highly recommended.
THE FOOD: We were at Tapas Valencia as part of an International Gourmet Club (girls) weekend in Chicago. We picked Tapas Valencia in part because of its atmosphere, menu and location. Although the sea food paella looked tempting, we decided to go for tapas to share, so we may sample a wider variety of food. The Gambas A La Plancha and the Gabriela and Cabrales salads were quite refreshing. The Pulpo A La Plancha was underwhelming, but the Albóndigas Con Almendras and the Dátiles Con Tacino compensated for it, both with complex textures, vivacious combination of flavors and beautiful presentation. The ubiquitous Jamón Serrano did not disappoint, it did transport us to delicious memories with real Spanish food, bravo! The Chorizos Espaňoles and Pincho De Solomillo were truly appreciated and very difficult to get right. The chorizos were a bit overcooked to our taste, but nonetheless, tasty with all their different colors and spices. The Solomillo was absolute perfection - juicy, not over-salted, not overcooked, accompanied by just the right ingredients, I could not get enough of it. We also left room for desserts: Tarta De Chocolate Y Caramelo, Tarta de Pera and Churros Con Cocolate. The chocolate cake was moist and refined at the same time, he churros were 50/50 when it came to people liking them (I think a bit too sweet and a bit too crispy for our taste), but that's OK because the pear tart stole everybody's hearts.
THE STAFF: Fantastic service, so pleasant, expedient, knowledgeable, made us feel special!
THE DRINKS!!!! We had amazing cocktails: the cranberry based martini, the mezcal-tini, and the Moscow Mule - all made to look and taste tantalizing. The wine we picked for the food was a surprising red: Viňa Zorzal, beautiful bouquet and lingering finish of deep berries and nutty flavors, perhaps stemming from the prolonged maturation of the grapes in dry Navarra. Excellent!
Barring the Sangria, everything else was excellent. Our server Nicole was very helpful, explained all the dishes we asked about and kept us in high spirits through out
Excellent food but a bit over-priced for a tapas venue.
We celebrated a 50th birthday and we totally enjoyed the food, ambiance and everyone was happy.
We went to Tapas Valencia for their Easter Brunch. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will definitely be going back!
Girls trip to Chicago. Loved being able to order and try so many dishes. Wait staff was excellent and service was great
It was the best service I have gotten. Ever.
The food and service were outstanding! The waiter had excellent recommendations!
All good, including fabulous, gorgeous flamenco dancer!
We really enjoy Tapas Valencia. They have a wide range of tapas that they put their own spin on. I wouldn't call it authentic Spanish food as we have lived in Spain for 5 years some of the techniques seem to be a subtle play on an authentic recipe however, the food quality is quite high and we've always enjoyed the live flamenco show on the weekend.
Had a delightful experience
Food was great
Service excellent Nicole was the best
Will definitely be back
Went for my birthday. I had a $25 off $50 spend coupon. They would not let me use it, despite our bill being over $200. They said because we had a few drinks specials on our bill we couldn't use the coupon. Drinks total was $40. They would not separate the check either. Very disappointed at that. The food there is always awesome. I will go back for that and just not order the drinks specials on a Thursday.
It’s was a nice place I thought the food was just ok for the price, the drinks were very good
Pretty nice place for tapas in south loop. A bit overpriced though.
Loved the food, the service, the Spanish guitar and the flamenco dancer! It was a feast for the senses.
I had family in town and this seemed a fun and more interactive dinner. Great food. Wait staff was friendly and helpful, though a bit slow at times. Food was wonderful, as were sangrias. A very nice place to go for a different flare. I would advise them to cook their shrimp a bit less done but all the rest was awesome.
My fiancé and I have come here twice and sat at the bar. The food is great and the service is always amazing! Everyone is friendly and accommodating. The bartender, Victor, remembered us from our first visit and stopped by to chat! I love this place. Simple, great food. You have to get the skirt steak!
Loved the music! Drinks were good as well as gluten free options!
Food is delicious and well portioned but I don’t even want to focus on that because the service just overshadows everything, so sweet, kind and patient, our waiter (Oscar?) made our birthday evening just absolutely lovely (and we can be a particularly particular crowd). Just fantastic, we will be back. Many thanks!
Love Tapas Valencia! My favorite dishes are:
** Tortilla Espanola
** Tostada Con Pato
** Pincho De Solomillo
** Solomillos a la Plancha
** Chuleta de Cordero
** Albonddigas con Almendra
** Gambas de Plancha and Calamares ala Plancha
**Vieras al Albarino
LOL...just to name a few!!! For dessert, try the Tarta de Pera with a glass of Licor 43!!!! Take a spoon of the Licor and drizzle on the piece of cake!!! Perfection!
Friendly staff great food and drinks. Food is very tasty and lots of dishes to try.
Our family of six adults, a toddler, and an infant enjoyed supper together on Saturday night. We were at a table in the back of the restaurant which was perfect for us and the other customers since we had the two children. Victor was our waiter and he did an excellent job of answering our questions, and meeting our needs.
We enjoyed the music and the fact the group came around so our grandchildren could hear them and watch them, as could the adults.
We would highly recommend your restaurant.
