Victor is the BEST!
I would highly recommend Tapas Valencia. My biggest "complaint" is with the "paella" because they make it with white rice (not paella rice) and they make it too thick. I understand they do this because we Americans don't like the socarrat! People would send the paella back claiming it was burned! Socarrat is the crusty crispy bottom of the paella that becomes caramelized and toasted on the bottom of the pan when it is cooking and is the mark of a well-made paella. Oh well. The food was otherwise amazing the the rice dish had a great flavor (but I can't call it Paella).
This is a new "must-go" Chicago eatery for me.
We stopped here for dinner before a basketball game. Traffic made us later than expected but we told our waiter we only had 45 minutes and he was terrific. We had our first tapas meals within minutes of placing our order and even though we ordered multiple rounds we were still done in 45 minutes—without feeling rushed! How’d they do that?! And each of our 7 dishes was yummy. We chose their restaurant since our son is about to go to Spain and we thought getting a taste of what he’s in for would be good for all of us — and it was! The place has a fun, colorful yet artistic vibe and we all loved that the restrooms had mouthwash and tiny cups available. Why don’t all restaurants do that? Would definitely recommend.
Very friendly staff throughout. All food choices were very good. Live music and dancer. Great ambiance. Nice mood lighting. Knowledgable wait staff. Exceeded my expectation.
Great place. Good food and ambiance. Service seems to push you quick
I thoroughly enjoye Tapas Valencia. They have a great assortment of tapas, both warm and cold, with vegetarian and vegan options. Our orders came out quickly, even the paella which is stated to take 45 minutes. All of the food we had was delicious. The plating is not astounding but it is not bad and the flavors are great. The sangria wasn't particular noteworthy but they do have 4 flavors besides the the white and red so that is fun. It was also great for my specific group as we were a group of 9 booking for a day of dinner reservation on Saturday. They were able to accommodate and it was a great birthday dinner. I am not a Chicago local, live in Boston, but Tapas Valencia was great for myself and my dining group.
This was our first visit to Tapas Valencia and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service friendly. There was a little confusion between the folks delivering the food and the servers, but overall it was not too bad. Also, the room was a little noisy for my liking, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. I would definitely go back, maybe earlier in the day or on a week night.
The food was thoughtfully plated and delicious. Drinks were delightful!
Wow! Great food, amazing service and lots of warm atmosphere.
Cucumber jalapeño martini was yummy! Expected tapas dishes with a few welcome upscale twists. Definitely is being added to my list to repeat dine.
We went on a Sunday night, the restaurant was not full but a decent crowd. Our server was polite, professional and knowledgeable, all you could ask for. The sangrias are outstanding, especially the prickly pear, I could have drank them all night. We order a number of Tapas and all were fantastic! It was hard to pick just a few and I can’t wait to go back and try others.
Amazing food ! Loved everything we ordered. The lobster bisque is a must !
Food was really good, they had live music playing not too loud . Love all the sangria flavors! Red, Mango and pomegranate sangria were my favorite. Service was great!
Revisited and old favorite and we were glad we did. Outstanding tapas, wine, and service. They even sent a hand-written thank you not to our home, which is pretty amazing. Highly recommended!
Overall a very outstanding experience. Alex was very attentive to our table and made sure to consistently check up on us as we progressed. The found was full of flavor and the portions were spot on. My only suggestion would be to include some more main courses just to cover a wider audience. Will come again!
Nice place didn’t understand it was a fixed menu when we went. Food was very good, and fixed menu gave us a tapas feel. Would like to go back for full menu
The Valentines menu was a wonderful surprise. Everything was delicious! And the service was very attentive.
A jewel in the South Loop with great food and wonderful ambiance.
Great food and atmosphere. The staff was very knowledgeable. A great place to have a meal and a conversation.
Tapas Valencia is my go to place. I have been there 5 times in the last 6 weeks and have enjoyed it very much. The only problem I had last Sunday was with the service, which has never happened before. I’m hoping it was just a fluke and they get this waitress trained better.
Expensive with water downed drinks. Ambiance was nice. Staff was attentive.
My husband and I sat at the bar - and had a wonderful experience! Victor was a great server and we enjoyed his suggestions on food. We ordered several “bar bites.” Our favorites were the crab avocado toast and the salmon angel hair pasta. The garlic potato salad is a must! Thanks for a great dinner!
It was restaurant week great valve. My wife has food allergies and they went far out of their way to accommodate her!!
great service and great food. definitely exceeded my expectation.
We always enjoy our time at Tapas Valencia. Hadn't been together in a while, but our time together here was WONDERFUL as always!!!
