About this restaurant

  • Good for groups
  • Good for special occasions
  • Lively
Tapas Revolution, founded by Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy brings you the true taste of Spain in Southgate, Bath. All tapas make use of the finest ingredients sourced directly from artisan producers in Spain and are served as when they're freshly prepared in the kitchen, the same way you'd expect them in the traditional tapas bars of Spain.

Get ready to tuck into tapas and Spain’s culture of sharing as a way of catching up with friends and going out. Their tapas dishes are all freshly prepared and served as soon as they're ready, just like the typical tapas bars in Spain. The menu changes regularly except for the classics such as the Spanish ham and béchamel croquetas, fresh chorizo cooked in Asturian cider, tortilla de patatas and the famous hot churros with chocolate for dipping.

Find them in St Lawrence Street, only a 2 min walk from the station and enjoy 2-4-1 Gin Tonics, Spanish inspired cocktails, craft beers on tap and the famous sangrias menu with five different kinds to try.

I found this place overpriced for what you got… the portions were small and the food was average at best. The service was pretty terrible - it took 30 minutes to be offered a drink (after I went as asked if we could order). For the money (almost £100 for 2 people!!) you could go to some much much nicer places in Bath. Wouldn’t recommend I’m afraid!

Sadly, we won't be returning. The name of the restaurant is deceiving, as the number of tapas dishes on the menu is very limited. There was no atmosphere, as there was no one else in the restaurant. The food appeared rapidly after we ordered, so there was no way it was freshly prepared. Sorry, Tapas Revolution, but we won't be revisiting.

The restaurant was empty and cold. Service was slow, the white wine we initially ordered was not available, another was recommended, which when arrived was warm. The food was deep fried and average. The whole experience was expensive & not worth the money.

All the meat elements of the tapas were poor , badly cooked , flavourless , the veggies dishes were full of flavour and delicious unfortunately. Tuesday lunch so was extremely quiet , 3 out of 6 toilets out of order . Lager tasted slightly warm/off but could be the first pint pulled that day. Wouldn't return... Food ordered Fish croquettes 6/10 Pan con tomato 7/10 (fresh) Chorizo and black pudding (2/10) extremely dry chorizo Pork belly chickpea puree (3/10) deep fried tasted of fryers Spanish tortilla (9/10) full of flavour for the planish dish on the menu Calamaris (3/10) next to no coating and tough Insalata de tomates(6/10) . Lovely tomatoes. Whipped goats cheese , extremely loose tasted borderline off but ate round it. So much potential, beautiful interior. Bath restaurant looks a little rub down when you look closer

when spening £50 a head we do not expect our meal to be delivered sporadically. despite telling the waiter our 3 tapas dishes were a main for one of us the dishes came with 20 mins intervals and before our starter. when asked to deliver as a main all togther with our other main dishes we were told it would not be and basically we had to lump it. poor customer service and despit visiting your restaitrant regularily we will not be back

The food was very good, but the service very disappointing. Five of the dishes arrived in good time, but the sixth was very late and we had finished.😢🤔

We came here with friends and the had waited a while to be sat down to our table. Once we had, we could see there were only three members of staff running food, taking orders and making drinks. We waited a while for our drinks and as we had an event to get to, we made the decision to just have our drinks and leave. I really felt for the team working and personally think management need to look at how the operate on a busy Saturday shift with skeleton staff. There were lots of people unhappy and it’s a shame as we loved this restaurant. Sadly we have seen this is common for this restaurant on recent reviews and we won’t be in a rush back

Nice atmosphere but the food was very disappointing. We had eaten here on two previous occasions so we expected better. Quality of food was poor - most dishes seem to have been deep fried and were rather greasy. The meat balls were almost inedible - very dense in texture and cold; tasted as though they were left over from the day before! (We only managed to eat two of the four.) The aubergine in honey was unpleasant - cold and greasy. We left most of it. As I said at the start of this review, we had been here twice before and had enjoyed it. Maybe they have taken on a new chef? Who knows! We paid just short of £70, including a carafe of house white. We won't be back - not in the near future, anyway. A shame, because this place was a bit different to other eateries on offer in Bath.
