Tapas Papa Frita - Scottsdale
My girlfriend and I met a couple friends who we haven't seen in almost a year for dinner. It was the perfect setting to catch up. Not too loud. Food was delicious. and They have plenty of vegan options for my friends. Overall 10 out of 10!!
We live in Barcelona during the summers but due to COVID we not able to do so this year. We celebrated our anniversary at Tapas Papa Frita enjoying some of our Catalan and Spanish favorites. Great selection, great portions, lovely setting and excellent service. Thank you for making our day so special!!
The live music is very nice & the ambiance is wonderful. The service is so prompt and the servers hustle when you ask them for things. It was a wonderful meal.
My friends birthdays
Great flamenco show, but underwhelming food, which was a surprise, given that it was one of our go-to places in the past
Food is always special and very taste. Love the music.
Exceptional!! The tapas, paella and sangria were exceptional!!! We concluded the meal with churros which were perfect!!
Love the ambience and the service. paella Was too salty though.
What a wonderful restaurant! Everything about the experience was perfect. We will definitely be back.
This is one of my favorite Scottsdale restaurants. We sat outside along the canal and walkway. The weather was perfect, the food excellent, as was my martini. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive but not overly so.
We had the Chef’s choice special with the Valencia Paella. Everything was very tasty. It was served a tad briskly until we asked them to slow down a little. Would definitely come again.
Yo! Yo! Yo!
My wife and I ate here on a Saturday night. We made a reservation for patio seating. We have eaten on the patio at several other area restaurants over the last week. This patio has great potential but seems to be in a neglected state currently. They have a bunch of lighting on the patio that wasn’t working which made it impossible to see the menu or your food without turning on the flashlight of our cell phones. Some tables had table cloths and some did not which isn’t a big deal but is a very nice touch if they all had it.
Service was good and very attentive. The food was good but not great. We shared the bacon wrapped dates and Valenciana paella. We had spent 3 weeks traveling Spain a couple years ago so are very familiar with what we like and don’t like of Spanish cuisine.
The food and music were great. A good night out.
Wonderful food & fantastic service for my wedding anniversary dinner. I would highly recommend trying Tapas Papa Frita for some delicious Spanish food and great live music on the weekends.
It was an awesome experience and our waiter was great. The food was extraordinary- we will be going back to enjoy the music after 7:30pm
Food was excellent service was fantastic. My family and I enjoy it immensely
Good Tapas and desserts, but entrees are lacking
Great find--We found them on The Arizona Restaurant Week
Nice to hear live music again
Very nice place with reasonable prices. Really like the small plates. All were good except the shrimp was kind of mushy and I didn't like having the big digestive vein still in it.
Good music when we went Saturday night
Experience was great and outside area very cute!
This place is a must-do if you've never experienced amazing tapas food. The live Flamenco dancing on Friday and Saturday evenings are what make this a great place for a first date, special occasions, or for a large group. The outside dining along the Scottsdale canal is open and plenty of room between table as to not hear each-others conversations, yet quaint enough to be romantic. The food is excellent, the service is even better, and you should definitely put this place on your to-do list of restaurants in the Valley!
It was my daughter’s birthday.
Nice atmosphere but the service was not that great. The server was in a hurry all the time he seemed agitated didn’t take the time to provide great service.
Fantastic restaurant! The Cuban band that plays on Sunday evenings is absolutely outstanding!
Consistently great every time! Unique dining experience with food and atmosphere you really can’t get anywhere else.
It was great to return to this restaurant. The food and service were on point. Our server even remembered us despite not having dined here in a while. Just a great evening.
The server made mistakes all night and blamed it on us. He overcharged us for several things and our food came out cold and slow all night. Not a great experience and probably will never be back.
This is one of my favorites restaurants in the Old Town area. We had planned to sit outside due to COVID but it was just too darn hot, so we sat inside. It was early. The restaurant had more than adequate space for social distancing. All of the servers wore masks and were so helpful with menu suggestions. Their martinis are excellent, too! This is my favorite spot for celebrating something special or just for celebrating the end of the day. If you can and it's not too hot, sit outside on their balcony that runs along the canal. It's lovely.
Love the atmosphere and staff.
The food is spectacular,
Great cusine! Paella is my Favorite in town. Thank you
Super fun gathering for a group. Definitely a place to repeat!
Food was mediocre. The dishes ordered were simple and could be made at home. The rice was overcooked
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. We celebrated our anniversary.
This was an anniversary dinner with my wife. We had the chef special tapas, a shrimp, a mushroom, beef tenderloin, bacon wrapped date w/ goat cheese and crab stuffed pepper. Our entree was the lobster and shrimp paella. The flavors were incredible and everything was cooked to perfection. This was one of the most amazing meals we have ever had.
As this was an anniversary dinner we were surprised with a flute of excellent Moscato and an after dinner liquor called Licor 43, that was served with a dollop of heavy cream on top and served in a tiny beer mug. The waiter said it is called a Mini-Beer. Is was fantastic. After dinner we immediately bought a bottle for home.
I've been to TPF several time and already love it but as a special occasion this was absolutely astounding. A meal we will never forget.
Arturo was the greatest server and the food was superb! We had the Chef's Choice and a bowl of Gazpacho.
We came for the live entertainment and we were not disappointed. We ordered the jamón ibérico and it was delicious and even ordered a second dish of the same. Had a nice Tempranillo. Service was good, too.
We will definitely go back again and try more of the menu.
Great food. Tasty. Some live entertainment to top it off .
Great food and atmosphere. Perfect for date night. However some of the tapas are seriously overpriced for what you get.
Awesome food and ambiance! Also great complimentary bday dessert too :)
Cool vibes, great food, good service. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy something else on this menu!
