Special occasions, breakfast with a close friend, holiday lunches...all end up having Hotel B as one of the choices!
We went for lunch. I enjoyed a ceasar salad, probably the best I ever had. It was such a simple dish, infused with so much flavor. The decor is very elegant but cozy. We will absolutely return.
Beautiful hotel, great atmosphere, great service and delicious food. I highly recommend the history Bethlehem Hotel.
We could not love this restaurant more! The staff is always so courteous and attentive, the food is excellent and the hotel is just beautiful.
The food is always great. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We asked a couple questions and received prompt replies. Everything was COVID compliant - no concerns having dinner here.
Beautiful hotel, great food! We enjoyed our stay and appreciate you making meals available to hotel guests during state closures.
Great experience as always! Food was great!
The Christmas decorations and all of the staff were truly lovely. We enjoyed the afternoon and would surely come again.
Christmas luncheon date with my wife.
We requested a table at the window which was perfect during the holidays. The Christmas decorations in the restaurant and hotel are outstanding and festive. My husband had the burger which was excellent and perfectly prepared, not overdone. My lobster roll was good but the roll was very soggy; not quite up to the Maine standards. I wish the menu had a few more selections, but I realize it is condensed due to the pandemic. Our server, Donna, was excellent; very professional and knowledgeable. Overall, everyone did a great job considering the difficult situation. We appreciate the measure the hotel is taking to provide a safe environment. Don't hesitate to dine here when the restrictions are lifted again.
Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable & attentive
The decorations were beautiful
Our server Donna was delightful. A wonderful experience.
This is a yearly tradition for us. And as usual the hotel is perfect. Tables spread apart, felt very safe. Food excellent. I enjoyed the mussels, and the beet salad. Delicious. Husband had the cheese steak and said it was great. Decorations always wonderful.
Sisters Birthday - always enjoy Bethlehem at Christmas
Fantastic meal with great service. We were limited to 90 minutes and did not feel rushed. Bonus was being able to see the Christmas decorations!
great drinks, good appetizers! I had a great time
So I have dined at Hotel Bethlehem before. It is a lovely hotel and very pretty and festive at Christmas. I thought the tables were a bit close together for covid guidelines. There was a large family with 4 young children and the kids were literally rolling on the floor and under the table. Not exactly what you want to be around when going to a nice restaurant. Of course this is not the restaurant's fault but it did detract from out experience. The waiter appeared a little perturbed because we only order two appetizers and one entree. My daughter was not that hungry. So service was just okay. Overall we enjoyed it but it could have been better for sure.
You're paying for the atmosphere and service. My salad and soup were mediocre and expensive for the small portion.
The dining room was decorated so beautifully and the the room itself is very elegant and cozy. The food was hot and delicious.
The hotel is amazing and the food was decent, but the food and presentation are definitely not up to par with the pricing. My cheese steak was good, but it was $22 and came with McDonald’s style fries. My mom’s fish was $32 and just okay. The service and drinks were very good, but just know that the food is overpriced for the quality.
We had a wonderful luncheon. Decorations were beautiful. The facility was impressively cautious with distancing precautions and felt very safe to be there. Food was excellent and I'd go back in a minute!
My husband and I were at the Tap Room for dinner on 12/3, 12/4 and breakfast on 12/5. Food and drinks were excellent. We stayed at the hotel for our 10th anniversary. They gave us complimentary desserts on 12/3. Over the two nights we had the arugula salad, beet salad, filet mignon, sweet potato fries, butternut squash soup, macaroni and cheese with lobster, creme brulee. Lost in Paris and Rose Bud martinis. My husband just had a beer. BORING! Breakfast is always good too. The food and employees are great. Very professional and friendly.
Bartender was very welcoming. He gave us brochures of what was going on in town. Hotel decorations were exquisite as usual. It’s our tradition to spend the day in Bethlehem during the holiday season.
Loved it. Cant wait to come back again in December for dinner.
A very unwelcoming place to which I will never return. Our party of four (relatives and a friend) arrived at the hotel 15 minutes before the 5:30 PM reservation and were informed by a rather unfriendly young man that we needed to wait outside until 5 minutes before the reservation due to crowd restrictions. Our party included an 83-year-old gentleman who is very sensitive to the cold; when we we finally let---as if they were doing us a favor when in fact at a time when restaurants are hurting for clients---the hotel lobby was totally empty---not one person there---where we could have waited more comfortably and with a modicum of dignity. The Tap Room itself was not full, so the crowd control bit was nothing but hysteria and a bit of lust for control. We were four and were offered a large round table which made conversation and conviviality difficult; we asked for one of the empty four-chair tables but were told that since they had reservations for two or three people the smaller tables were reserved for them. After the 90-minute limit imposed for the dinner there was not one person in any of the four-chair tables. Another imposition is the 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill---a gratuity we probably would have left anyway, but the taking away of the discretion of how much to tip is insulting and arrogant. The service was OK and only OK---not very friendly. The food was good but not exceptional. So, why support an establishment that treats its clients, who make for their livelihood, with such lack of respect and dignity? A very unpleasant restaurant which deserves to fail for its poor treatment of their patrons. My advice is: go elsewhere for dinner or lunch and refuse to support such arrogance and mediocre service.
Beautiful Christmas decorations up, we sat by the window overlooking Main Street. The food was incredible, the drinks delicious. Once a larger group that was loud left, the noise level was perfect. Service was outstanding as well.
This was our 1st visit to Hotel Bethlehem & The 1741 Tap Room. We had a great table by the window, Christmas decorations were beautiful, our waiter, Bob, was very friendly. An added bonus was that the restrooms were spotless. We will be back again!
Breakfast with my husband daughter and granddaughter.
Enjoyed as always. The Hotel look Beautiful
Great meal, decorated beautifully for Christmas, servers were attentive and friendly.
Unbelievable Christmas decor and great food. Took quite a long time to be served yet only had 90 minutes total. Felt rushed eating the food.
This quaint old elegant dining room is a pleasure to visit. The staff was very nice and the service was wonderful.
We waited for 45 minutes to get our meal after being seated and told we only an hour and a half at our seats. At the 45 min mark I got up and spoke to the hostess who said she would get our waitress. When she came to our table there was no apology just that she would get the manager. The manager came with a weak explanation of which I asked her if this is normal to wait 45 plus minutes for food. Mind you all the other tables around us had already finished there meals. Some of them were seated after us. The table beside us finished there meal and left and someone new came and they were almost done with their meal before we were finished. Anyway the manager offered to pay for our first drinks. Ok that was fine but when we got the check they added on the gratuity bard in those drinks. Wait...,I didn’t say that it’s an automatic 20% no matter how bad the service. So I took the bill to that manager to ask why the tip was based on 2 free drinks. I mean come on people. So snobby this business. I’m never going back there again. Based on this I would never recommend.
We had a very nice experience we stayed at the hotel everyone was eager to serve us and the staff were all very pleasant we had a wonderful time thanks to all
Good entertainment. Good food, just a tiny bit bland, but very well prepared. Great bar selection. Overall impressed.
My friend and I were taken aback but the lovely Christmas decorations, especially the nativity scene above the door as you leave. This mae th atmosphere so nice.
It was really great to have live music, too.
The food was excellent. We shared a Caesar salad and mushroom Flatbread.
The service at the bar was great. The staff was friendly, too.
I will be back, and hopefully stay overnight at the hotel!

In a word, magical!
We had a family dinner to celebrate a birthday and were so happy with our evening at the Tap Room. The service was amazing thanks to Donna and the Hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays. We were still talking about it the next day. Thank you!
Francoise greeted us promptly and courteously. Nina was our server and very personable. A totally fantastic experience.
Service was good, but slow, considering due to Covid we are only slotted 90 minutes. The food was just ok compared to previous visits. I go for the ambiance mostly on my annual day trip with my daughter to Bethlehem.
We sat at the bar (in a pod?) and enjoyed a lovely cocktail and a delicious salad. The bartender took care of us. Very attentive. The Christmas decorations in the lobby were fabulous and really set the mood.
