Too noizy. There was a wedding reception going on and the people at the bar were too loud.
Best steak sandwich ever! Large amount of perfect fries. Very friendly atmosphere. We're locals, but felt like we were on vacation in another city, everything was so welcoming.
Excellent food/drinks, great live music and wonderful hospitality.
While we understand that the menu is limited due to the rebound from covid, our food was good (except for the apple desert that we could not finish), the surprisingly young wait staff ranged on a continuum from poor and seemingly unhappy with being at work to excellent. With a dinner for 4 costing $250 plus tip, there are other excellent establishments with more positive results. We love the Sunday Brunch and would probably return for that, however.
We went for dessert. We love their ice cream. It is the ice cream from the Penn State creamery. We enjoy sitting at a table in the Hotel Bethlehem and eating with real silverware. The hotel does have a location across the street that has more flavors, toppings, etc, but we prefer to come here. The cost is about the same as the takeout store, but the dining experience is so much better.
Had a very nice birthday celebration! Server surprised us with a lovely ice cream and candle dessert. Perfect atmosphere for a quiet get together. Kitchen is still experiencing some transition issue. Food reflects this.
Service was extremely slow but I know a lot of restaurants are struggling so not sure if it's the norm,
While we stay frequently at the hotel and love it. I've eaten 4 times at TAP ROOM only 1 was good.
Went here for our 8th wedding anniversary. Paid $41 a piece for Filet Mignon that wasn’t cooked as ordered. Rare came out medium/medium-well — Medium Rare came out medium well. They also did not get our order correct and gave us the incorrect sides. Also, the service was terrible. They were severely understaffed and no one checked on us the entire meal. It’s a shame we had a terrible experience on our anniversary. We did not even stick around for the complimentary anniversary dessert (that’s how displeased we were with our experience).
We ate in the 1741 room which is beautiful. Service was lovely. Food was good but too much sauce or gravey. If I had known I would of requested on the side. Overall a good experience and worth a try
This was the choice of our 2021 graduate. We all had a terrific meal
Chose Hotel Bethlehem for a celebratory brunch after my daughters graduation. We were seated in a largely empty unattractive ballroom rather than a stately restaurant we were expecting. The brunch was a buffet which was largely unimaginative and unattractive. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and brought our beverages promptly. To add insult to injury upon presentation of the check we were informed that a mandatory 20% gratuity was added to our check. Normally this doesn’t bother me as I generally tip 20%, however, this was a buffet. There was literally no service required.
All in all this was a disappointing experience.
Wonderful food, drinks and service in a beautiful historic setting. Very special.
Always a lovely experience at the Hotel Bethlehem. Staffing transitions resulted in lack of communication with Open Table reservation information. Overall terrific hoping the issues are resolved and improve.
Excellent as always. Our server Josh was great as well as our food and drink. Dine outside on a beautiful night and listen to nice live music. Can’t wait for the next time.
Staff was pleasant but food took over 70 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Wife ordered the Arugula salad with ranch dressing. She didn't realize that the salad came dressed already and the waitress didn't tell her so she ended up with a salad with no Ranch. This wouldn't have been her preference. Salad was mostly Arugula with very little apple and cranberries. Disappointing.
My house salad with chicken was ok.
Kids had burgers which they said were good.
Overall we were disappointed by the experience and probably won't return again. Certainly not worth the $.
Great breakfast food. Server was pleasant. Would definitely eat there again.
Very nice dining room and friendly staff. Food was very good - menu choices a bit limited but we all found something we liked. Good drink offerings - overall quite good.
We love Hotel B but this last experience was to our best.
The filet was very good, I only received four scallops for $35. The creme broilet ?? was under expectations and the chocolate walnut torte tasted like a brownie with walnuts on it
I have been there several times and will probably return. This visit, though, my omelette and sides, toast, had too too much butter/oil. Literally squeezed the butter out of the toast. I don’t understand why restaurants don’t cook healthier meals. There is no need for food to be swimming in oil, butter etc.
We ate in Tap Room, beautiful, excellent service, delicious food.
Wonderful brunch for Mothers Day and our daughters birthday.
My 12 year old grandson was so excited about the photo wall and the famous guests, especially former presidents.
Decided to come for Mother's Day breakfast! It was a perfect morning with my daughter. Our table was available immediately and we were seated at a window with a wonderful view. Our waitress arrived promptly and our food came shortly thereafter. Our waffles and french toast were scrumptious! Will definitely visit again!
Very disappointed - we have been going to the hotel for over 10 years and this will likely be our last time. We made reservations for the terrace room, and a week or so later we were told it wasn’t going to be open due to some renovations. So they put us in the tap room. We arrived for my wife’s 50th bday celebration to find out the terrace was in fact open and they would not sit us there even though our original reservation was for the terrace.
Insult to injury the staff and more importantly the management was not overly interested in correcting the problem. So we had to stay in the tap room with a loud, bad musician in our ears having a silent dinner.
Terrible! Never again
Great diner. Donna did a wonderful job as the server.
The dinner we had on 5/8 was fine. But we had breakfast reservations the next morning at 7:45. Emily the hostess told us we needed to wait until 745 when we showed up at the hostess stand at 7:42 in order to be seated. We waited three minutes and then she seated us. Other tables were seated after us and after 15 minutes of waiting no one came to our table even though all the other tables who came after us were being served. When we told them we would leave since we didn’t have a server the server who was supposed to take care of us chuckled and said happy Mother’s Day sarcastically. Would not go back there.
Perhaps too busy today.. I had to ask for individual essentials like straw, fruit jelly, sugar and each item needed to asked for twice and waited for. Usually it is not the case.
We love Hotel Bethlehem! It was so nice to see live music again even if it made it difficult to hear our conversation, lol! It felt almost “normal” 💕
Taproom is a most civilized venue in a historic hotel.
Excellent all around!! Will go back great feed abs service
The Tap Room is a step back into what feels like a golden age. Lovely.
It was very pleasant. Nice atmosphere next to the window. Staff was attentive and polite. Food was good.
Food, services, ambiance excellent!
We always stop for lunch at Hotel Bs Tap Room when we're in Bethlehem for any reason. Love the atmosphere, the food and the service. Thanks to our server Donna for making yesterday's lunch all the more enjoyable! She even had a candle put in my dessert for my birthday!
Food was not great- eggs were burned- bacon undercooked and coffee was not good. Service was very slow. We had a reservation and had to wait- took a while before a server came to our table once seated
excellent food, exceptional service, nice atmosphere - would highly recommend
COVID precautions were excellent! I felt extremely safe. Restaurant was beautiful, server excellent, food amazing!
Not alot of choices but prepared to pergectiom
We had a fabulous dinner here and the service was the best! All of our food was delicious, and the signature cocktails were awesome. We would highly recommend!
Staff very friendly, helpful, professional.
Food was delicious.
