Tap House Seattle Ratings and Reviews
I made the reservation about 4 days ahead of time. They seated our party in the small back room, right next to a large screen TV, even though there were open tables of the right size up front. Then they seated a large party with 6 very small children in the same room. The restaurant didn't provide any food or drink for the kids or anything for them to do. After about 45 minutes of near-constant kid screaming, the alcohol for the adults came out, still nothing for the children. In addition, the big screen TV was showing a kickboxing match. I found it annoying and asked 3 different servers to turn it off, which the manager eventually did (reluctantly). As soon as we left, the manager turned it back on, even though no one in the room had requested the TV and the kickboxing match was really not appropriate for such little kids. I understand that it was a busy evening, but if your restaurant is going to serve small children, then please do what other restaurants do: provide some crayons and paper, some pretzels or small food items, and bring their food first. Or put a cartoon on the TV. And if a patron goes to the trouble to make a reservation in advance, don't stick us in the back! Really a miserable experience for all.
Very crowded (Friday 6:30pm) but we had a reservation and we were seated promptly. We told our waitress that we were pressed for time (one hour until theater curtain time), and she responded graciously and made sure our order was expedited. Food (fish & chips, and grilled chicken sandwich) was excellent. Great selection of beers. Dramatic underground setting. Only complaint was noise level was too high for comfortable conversation, but everything else surpassed our expectations. We will come back for sure.
We enjoyed wonderful flatbread, salad, and beers. We crave IPA’s and found the variety there very satisfying. Wonderful service. Lots of TV’s and fun atmosphere to watch sports. Only complaint is a sound system that makes music sound like it’s coming out of an old transistor radio. Good choice of music but painful to listen to. Focus on the food, sports, and beer and all is good.
Just happened to find Tap House Grill while attending a conference in downtown Seattle. What a great find! Waitress was super helpful recommending beers for each of our tastes and with food recommendations. It was early on a Saturday evening, but the place was hopping, so I'm glad I made reservations on Open Table!
Visited on last three trips to Seattle. A casual, affordable choice in the area. Love the beer flights and the great range of beer choices. Flatbreads, calamari, fish and chips all good. Doug, a patient, friendly, helpful server.
It's noisy and busy, go early and sit in the back or elevated area more conducive to conversation.
Great place for beer lovers with 160 different brews available. The appetizers are limited and not your standard or expected bar munchies. If you are not in the actual bar area TV sports viewing can be limited and odd angles. The service is very accommodating and good even when extremely busy.
We've liked Taphouse better in the past. But this time the TVs were so loud that we could hardly hear each other speaking across the table. My voice was hoarse afterwards from yelling. It wasn't the right place to get together with family/friends, just if you wanted to watch TV, so I felt bad suggesting this place to my family. Completely different ambiance last time I was there. Hopefully a fluke.
Our table was the situated back in the furthest corner and away from any other patrons. There was a football game on that we wanted to watch (and the main reason we went there) but we couldn't see any of the tv screens. Food was ok, server seemed bothered that we were in her area. Could be fun if you sit at the bar area and try some of the beers they have on tap
Really enjoyed our dinner at the Tap House in a comfortable, casual setting. Great menu with a variety of solid options including flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, and burgers along with a few pasta and fish choices. The nachos as a starter were outstanding. I've never seen a bar with so many taps on the wall. Service was on par with the food and setting. Will be back if we visit Seattle again.
Our server was excellent! Overall the food was very good. Appetizers were okay (food was not hot enough. Nachos were quite bland), but the main courses were very very good. Overall experience was quite impressive, especially the service. And the beer selection was amazing.
First time using opentable for reservation and it worked out great. Called about 30 minutes ahead of time and was happy to hear they had me on their books. I've been to the tap house before and decided on this spot for a first date since it's just a short walk from benaroya hall. Always a great selection of beer and the menu offers some great selections. Calamari appetizer was fantastic and our dinner was out shortly after. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be on a Saturday night at 6pm but was filling up quickly by 730ish when we left. The crowd was mixed tourists/dates and it was a lively atmosphere sitting near the bar while some sports games were on. Still quiet enough to enjoy conversation and allowed an intimate experience despite the busy restaurant.
There are pool tables in the back as well as private function rooms for parties which I've used in the past.
A littttle pricey for me typically but all in all a worthy investment for good food, great beer, atmosphere, and location on a Saturday date night downtown.
The parking garage between 6th and 7th on pike sneaks up on you and you enter on the left hand side which confused me at first. It was only 6 dollars (weekend special) to Park from 5-11ish which was great. I also like that this garage opens straight into the taproom lobby above the restaurant to its quick access when you're on a date. GameStop is right around the corner which allowed me to kill some time before dinner and plenty of shopping nearby could keep you busy if you need something to do before/after.
Went for dinner at 7:30pm. First time at Tap House. Huge selection of drinks to choose from. Love the atmosphere!Seated immediately. Took about 10 minutes for our server to come to our table. Not outrageous, but not very timely. We had the Harmon Puget Sound Porter and the Locust Honey Pear Cider. Both were very tasty. Our meals: 1) Steak and Fries--outrageously good! 2) Grilled Chicken Sandwich--messy and very very good. Overall very nice visit. Highly recommend!
I accidentally made a reservation for 2 rather than 3 and the hostess was extremely accommodating of my mistake...granted, it was a 5:15pm dinner res, but still! We did notice that the tables all seemed a bit close together, but they chairs were placed so that it didn't feel like your neighbors were listening in to your conversation.
At one point our server asked what our plans were for the rest of our night. When we told him we planned to watch a movie in a little while he hurried to get the bills settled even though we told him we had plenty of time, and didn't rush us out after.
I really wanted to like this place and that's why I made reservations to get seated on time before I went to a show. It started off good and we were seated immediately...except, in a little after thought table in the party room with two parties going on at the same time. It was so loud we could not even talk with each other. Further, our server was so busy with the other tables that once we drank our second drank, we were left with just water to drink for the rest of the meal. The meal would have been spectacular if it hadn't been cold and soggy. I had the steak and fries and nothing ruins that meal more than cold steak and soggy, cold fries. The cast iron skillet that it was served in was cold to the touch as well. At any rate, it was a let down overall. I really hate that I couldn't like this place as a regular spot.
