TAP Ratings and Reviews
Our experience at Tap could not have been any better! My wife’s company was having a small gathering for holiday party prior to attending the Brian Setzer Christmas show at Symphony Hall. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was fun, and most importantly, our service was the best I’ve seen in years. Our server, Ashley , was outstanding. She anticipated every need we had and delivered in every way. She was friendly, prompt, and professional throughout the evening. It’s been along time since I have raved about a restaurant experience, but you guys really impressed all of us that night. Continued success to you in the future and we will be back!
3rd time here and 1st time to actually get a table since I reserved in advance. We did run about 10 minutes behind with the terrible traffic, but they were sweet and accommodating. We had a show later that evening. Service was quick and food is reasonably priced for Atlanta. Beer selection is very good. Valet was a nice option ($5 up front, but they take that off your tab if you show them your receipt). Hours are a bit restricted though if your show at the ASO runs beyond 10P. We had to leave the show early so that we could pick up our vehicles before the valet left
We have made it a bit of a tradition that we attend the CHOA Children's Parade and then eat after the parade at TAP. This year only ensured this tradition would continue. The restaurant was so accommodating to our large party with multiple families. We were able to sit outside and still view the end of the parade. The food was outstanding and I'm not sure I've ever received better service. The waitress was beyond patient and efficient. All of the staff was so sincere in their service. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fun, midtown spot.
The evening at TAP was enjoyed by the 4 of us. The food and service were great. I did make a note when I made the reservations thru Open Table that we were celebrating our anniversaries, however, no one acknowledged or even said 'Happy Anniversary' . Other than that, we would go back again.
We came for the menu and convenient location before a show at Symphony Hall, but will definitely come back for the great food. So many delicious looking items and not enough people to share them all so we will have to come back soon!
The service was excellent - my water glass stayed full and our server kept the pace knowing we had a show to get to without making anything feel rushed.
The ambience was upbeat and I think there was live music upstairs, but we were still able to talk and enjoy one another.
Fun date night and perfect pairing with the Arts Center!
Wasn't too impressed with the food that I had. Others have expressed being underwhelmed with their experience but I went to give TAP an assessment of my own. I too was underwhelmed by the food, drink, and atmosphere during my visit.
Can check it off my list. There are too many other places to visit to end up at TAP again in the near future.
Another great meal at Tap. Fun and unique options beyond standard bar food fair. Good draft beer selection to try new things. Slightly over priced, but we've always had a great experience.
Free valet parking is great - just a few bucks tip to park in Midtown is a great value.
We had a ten minute wait until any staff came over and offered water until our “server” came (who never showed up). Then another ten minutes until he offered to take our table and the beer took a long time (15+ min), very long for a tap house. The food took quite awhile, and we saw many other tables who were waiting for food. The food was good but not worth the wait.
I went to lunch with three of my current & former coworkers for lunch on Thursday, Oct. 5. Two of us arrived at our reservation time which was 12:30 PM. Our server came to our table quickly to get our drink order and came back to check on us twice while we were waiting for the two other coworkers. After the two coworkers arrived, the server pretty much disappeared. After waiting an inexcusable amount of time trying to get the server's attention, we wound up having to get another server to take our lunch orders and he was actually great. I wish I could remember his name. The original server came back to check on us at some point, but it was too late. We ran way over the time we anticipated for lunch. The food was OK. The menu has so few options that I was not impressed. I ordered the salad with beets and farroh which was not bad, just okay. The tots, however, were great. I don't know if I will go back to Tap again. To the Management - you must train your servers to pay appropriate attention to their tables. It is fine with me if a server says they are running short of staff that day & will do their best to get our orders in & our food to the table. And, an apology is always appropriate when a different server has to take over the table. That was my first time at Tap, and it may have been my last.
I love the place but management needs to step in here and address the decline in service. The waitress had too many tables in/outside and did not know the menu. Not knowing the menus is unacceptable. If someone called in sick, there are things you can do to address the problem for the day. Stopping by your table two times and receiving your order 47 minutes after your order is not one of them. Check out the Yelp reviews. There is a bigger problem. The good news is that the food isn't the problem. The bad news is that the people serving the food have no clue or organization to what they are doing. The sad news is that a few of them DO NOT KNOW THE MENU. If you are busy and missing staff, why try to memorize the order? I hate when people do this..
Six of us dined at TAP prior to a concert at Symphony Hall. We arrived early and had lots of time for drinks, appetizers, dinner and more conversation as we saw the restaurant fill up as showtime approached. Everyone at our table really enjoyed their dishes. I especially liked the Cous Cous Salad, which was much more filling than I expected; others enjoyed Tacos, various salads, and the Salmon BLT. Great beer list! TAP was a great choice for an early-ish dinner.
Tap is a weird one. I've had several lunch meetings and I couldn't begin to tell you what the menu really is. All I can say the Poke Bowl was good..... I can also tell you that salmon sandwich is not. It's really a hit-or-miss try something and see what you like and also keep your fingers crossed on service. Today we had a great server and it was a perfectly fine place to stop in and have a business conversation. Other times it has not been. So in typical Midtown fashion you just don't know unless you go
Service was intermittently attentive. Needed to have a brunch location close to the high Museum and had hoped tap would be a great solution. Have to say food was average. Coffee was pretty lacking in flavor. Biscuits were cold when served and too dense ; certainly didn't meet The southern hot flaky biscuit standard. It is very likely that we will NOT be going to Tap again and will be looking for another midtown restaurant for our regular
Midtown brunch on Saturdays or Sundays. Tap does not measure up to the exceptional standards that most Atlanta restaurants are able to meet.
We were very excited to try TAP, as One Midtown Kitchen and Two Urban Licks are two of our very favorite restaurants and we dine there often. We even bought Concentrics gift cards as thank yous for our friends.
In short, our experience at TAP was so bad we couldn't wait to get out of there. I ordered the burger with bacon and a fried egg. While we were waiting, one of the servers (a very pleasant young woman) kept throwing dirty dishes in the bucket so loudly we thought they were breaking. This went on the whole time we were there. When our dinner arrived, my burger didn't have the fried egg and had the caramelized onions instead. We waited a few minutes and flagged down our server, Patrick. He was nice and offered to get me a new burger, but we didn't want to wait. Also, the fries, while perfectly cooked, were so heavily coated in garlic that we didn't eat many. As much as I wanted to try the sticky toffee pudding, we just had lost faith that it would be worth it. We paid our bill and left. After leaving, we realized we had been charged for the onions we didn't order (or the egg we didn't get).
I know our experience wasn't a catastrophe, but we left disappointed and surprised that it could be so bad considering how great the other Concentrics places we tried have been.
I'm sharing this only because if I were the owner or manager, I would want to know why a potentially regular customer decided not to return.
I hope you take my feedback in the spirit it was intended- just honest comments from a disappointed customer. (I submitted all of the above to Concentrics Restaurant Group a week ago and have been very surprised that I have not received any response.)
