About Taormina Sicilian Cuisine
Inspired by authentic Sicilian recipes from the kitchens of Southern Italy's seaside town of Taormina, Chef Hiroyuki Mimura pairs fresh pastas with the highest quality seafoods and meats. Unspoiled by heavy sauces, Sicilian-style pastas are dressed in pure, extra virgin olive oil. Fresh vegetables, lightly grilled fresh local fish, and lamb seasoned with herbs offer diners a healthy range of options.Featured dishes include fresh Fettucine Carbonara finished with tableside Truffle service, grilled Lamb Chops "Palermo" and Veal "Siciliana." Taormina's specialty dish is Uni Pasta (Sea Urchin), a delicacy enjoyed in Japan and Italy. Italian espressos compliment selections of house made desserts (Dolci).

Taormina Sicilian Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
My family visited this restaurant while travel in Hawaii.
We ordered Seafood bruschetta, Sea urchin “Ricci di mare" pasta, Truffle Carbonara “Tartuffo fresco”, Nero “Frutti di Mare”.
Everything we have ordered was under the expectation.
But the atmosphere was fairly good and quiet in the heart of noisy Waikiki.
We live on Maui and go to Taormina whenever in Honolulu. We love traveling to Italy and Japan, and this restaurant reminds us of both. Chef Hiro is Japanese and trained in Florence. It was delightful to talk with him. It is great refuge for a quiet, relaxing lunch in the bustle of Waikiki.
We like the music choices, and people-watching outside on the glass-enclosed lanai. We like the Amuse (small salad of local greens and demitasse of today's soup, cold Green Pea foam). The Kampachi Carpaccio with pear vinaigrette and local microgreens was excellent on the Restaurant Week Prix Fixe. A favorite is the excellent distinctive signature Lasagna with blue cheese, now in a generous larger portion. Also the grilled chicken with vegetables was an authentic European classic. Excellent dessert: granola, banana panna cotta and acai sorbet.
Expert friendly service by attentive Gabe, and gracious talk story with GM Kazu. (We returned the next day for lunch as well.)
Service was good but food was disappointing, slow in coming to the table and then when served it was cold. Appetizer of squid was ok, the char was nice on the squid but nothing to write home about. Ordered the fresh pasta with mushrooms and fresh shaved truffles; very expensive and not worth it at all. Had to send it back because the pasta was cold. Came back lukewarm, saturated in sauce (which wasn't good); mushrooms what a joke; 1 thin slice of shiitake and two other slivers of unidentified mushroom; truffle shavings were nowhere to be found and pasta was so al dente it tasted like a mouth full of semolina flour. Menu is interesting but the preparation needs work. Won't go back.
On vacation here in Hawaii we wanted to try to have some special dining experiences. Taormina Sicilian Cuisine definitely fit the bill. We were ushered upstairs to the corner table over looking the Beach Walk. We enjoyed two very special cocktails their Blood and Sand and signature Manhattan and the evening got even better from their. Our waiter was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. The appetizers were outstanding especially the Sepia. Our entrees the fish of the day and shellfish 🦐 over squid 🦑 ink pasta were perfection. We ended the meal with dark chocolate macadamia nut gelato 🍧 The perfect sweet finish. We highly recommended this special experience and hope to be back on a return trip to beautiful Honolulu!
Had been to this restaurant before. This time on both nights I ate there, the noise level was so loud that it ruined the evening. While the service was great-food was good, loud customers ruined the ambiance. I will not be returning. Despite repeated requests to the management to assist-the loud customers continued and we left.
Overpriced and mediocre quality. Bread came to table with a birds feather literally baked into it. Was told the bread comes from an outside bakery. The other redflag was the couple next to me who clearly wasn’t impressed with their meal as they left. One glass of wine was comped due to the unsanitary bread, but I had lost my appetite at that point. I wish I cancelled my entree and left. Server was clueless. Overall very subpar and the worst (and most expensive!) meal I had in Waikiki.
My wife and I stopped in while visiting Oahu on our honeymoon. It was just what hoped it would be! We received great service, multiple tastes of wines before selecting our wine for dinner, and the entrees were excellent. My wife had the pasta with eggplant and I had the squid ink linguine with seafood. They even provided a complimentary dessert for the special occasion! Staff was very friendly and the general manager even stopped by the table to congratulate us on our recent wedding! Definitely recommend!
