Our dinner was amazing. And we had the best and most attentive server;, Stephanie. Thank you Stephanie for a great time !
Server was amazing - Neil was his name. Very thorough with explaining things and offering options for the kids. He is a huge asset to your team and he made our experience that much better. Bus staff was also great and very helpful if we needed extra napkins or forks (which we needed) versus chopsticks. We visited the Las Vegas location and loved it. And now we love this original location just as well. We will be back!
Excellent Food & Ambience.
We were a Family of 3 from INDIA.
It was worth a visit.
Strongly recommend for Fine Dining Chinese Food
Very nice spot. Waiter was helpful, he informed us about the specials and helped recommend certain items we were inquiring about. Nice ambience and food came out good. However, we were seated next to a table of 4 extremely close to us and could hear them too well. Not as intimate as presumed. Otherwise, good experience.
The food was amazing as always! This was my first time visiting a location in New York. The service was horrible and I do feel like we were racial profiled which is so disheartening.
Best meal we had in New York! Amazing food in lovely surroundings.
Nice place but a bit expensive. Food and service was great.
I love this place! Great food, great atmosphere and the service was good too.
Appetizers were amazing! We got the sea bass and short ribs. Entree was okay compared to appetizers. Overall great ambiance and experience
Thought Tao uptown is a fine dinner. I would equal it to an upper level of PF Chang ... not more
I know someone has to, but we got seated at the 2-top where one person faces the wall the whole evening. Definitely a bummer. Next time, I will ask to wait for the next seating. Not a great experience for 50% of the party.
This place used to be the place to be but now lost its edge. Lots of tourists and average service
Beautiful location and great food. Somewhat pricey but that is expected in that area of NYC
It’s up and trendy place, very good vibes. However they lack in the most important aspect of a great restaurant - Food and drinks.
We were at the lounge first, We ordered 3 drinks, they were very rushed, ready in less than 30 sec, you can imagine how much effort is put in to get it ready, it was basically just liquor and sprite or cola, that’s not a cocktail.
We went for food after upstairs, appetizers were decent we got tuna lobster spring roll and tuna Pringle with truffle or something, again for the upscale restaurant those were below average.
Lastly the main course, the scallops were really well done, but the curry sauce it came in was overly salty and not tasty at all. We also ordered two rolls, crispy tuna and chefs roll, both seemed very fresh, however they had no taste at all, so again very disappointing experience.
It was my fiancé’s birthday and atleast they got the desert right, molten chocolate cake which was good and Neal was our server, he did a fine job.
Overall, 1 star for a upscale restaurant, they should have focus more on quality of food and drinks for the price they charge, instead of hosting so many people at a time I would rather host few but provide excellent quality food, drink and service.
An amazing place, with a very good atmosphere and delicious food.
Loved it The giant fortune cookie was everything!
Rudest waiters in NYC!
We went in as group of four and got a table next to the kitchen entrance. The waiter asked one of us if we wanted tap or bottled, instead of asking all of us and greeting us first. And so I wanted sparkling and definitely not tap water, so he brought us 4 taps. And so I asked if I could get sparkling too, he said “you said tap, alright double the tips.” I have never heard such stupid comment for a very legitimate request.
Secondly, since I m seated at apparently the path way where everyone passes, one waiter pushed my chair so I m pressed against the table and said that “they need to keep the aisles clear, so please clear the way!” NEVER was I treated this way at a restaurant. I did ask for a different table but I WILL never be back to this place. And shame on you for asking for double tips.
If you are going to treat guests this way might as well open at the food hall.
In addition, I went to the other TAO downtown, it’s service is fabulous, night and day, and the place is much bigger.
Good noisy fun — great to share dishes with 4 or more!
My daughter and I had an order for only about $60, which perhaps is low for a dinner in TAO Uptown. The staff was pretty much ignoring us, pooring water for guests to the left and right of our table, but leaving our glasses empty.
Also, the tables for two are kind of crowded, so there is no privacy: everything you say is audible to the neighboring tables, and vice versa.
Other than that, it was good. Great location, cool club-like facility, yummy food.
Impressive surroundings and ambiance, good food, good value for prix fix lunch. Have been here many times and always enjoyed it!
Went for Restaurant week and everything was as I knew it would be, nothing short of fantastic. I've eaten at Tao Uptown on several occasions. A colleague and I went to enjoy an early Friday lunch. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, which were really tasty and the chicken papaya salad. For our mains, we both opted for the shrimp pad thai. Service was timely for the busy lunchtime. I love taking pictures here. Great dining as usual.
Pre-Anniversary and Goodbye New York Dinner
high class restaurant. amazing ambience and decor. friendly reception. knowledgeable and courteous staff. great food. lots of good selections. amazing bar area. great place for a date or a meeting to impress. Highly recommend.
The appetizers - dumplings, tuna on toasted rice, five spice beef, roast pork, duck spring rolls were far superior to the mains. Salmon was overcooked (dry), sesame chicken bland, "beef" (steak) and broccoli was the best main course. Service was gracious but the noise level was still high on the second floor. A great venue for large group.
Our waiter Craig was outstanding
From the hostess, to the waitress/servers, and to the bus boys....the friendly manner in which myself and guests were treated was perfection. One of my guests was running late, and the hostess was more that accommodating when she finally arrived. The food was so much better than average, it was a 5 star for everyone in my party (we never agreed when it comes to restaurants and food) and we will be back.
Excelente atención. Sobre todo de Juan que nos hizo sentir como en casa
I went here with group of team members from work for a team lunch. Food was excellent, portions were generous. Service was up to the mark. No one rushed us to finish faster. Good value for money. Definitely would go again.
The waiters sometimes took long to came back to our table when we needed them.
Unique decor and great menu which included clearly marked gluten free options. All of the food we ordered was excellent and the service was fabulous, although we were charged
We went during Restaurant Week which is why I gave a 5 for 5 on value. But everything really was great!
The food was great! I’ll definitely go back there again.
It was excellent!
Food is expensive, but service is great. I requested a floor table, they delivered. My server was friendly and helpful. They even threw in a mini Birthday dessert for FREE. 4/5 stars.
Nice place to dine.
Great meal and reasonablw price.
It’s a fake , and rip-off restaurant. Food tastes bad. No good at all.
Food was excellent, service was excellent. My only issue was on the website it showed a restuarant week menu, but when we got there they said they weren't serving restaurant week menu. The reservation was made based on the information on the website.
All in all it was a great experience and the food was terrific.
It’s always a great vibe in this place. The food is awesome (the sea bass is the best!) the service is great and the music is good too.
