We had a delicious dinner celebrating my birthday while visiting NYC!! The coconut shrimp was amazing as was shrimp pad Thai. We had fortune cookie dessert that was so yummy! Great place and cool vibe. Highly recommend!
Servicio muy lento. Mesa junto a la cocina. Calidad precio muy caro.
It was an excellent culinary experience - one of the best in the city.
One word saids it all about going to Tao Uptown for dinner, its call perfect.
My girlfriend’s birthday. She loved it and we all have a great time
We were celebrating my youngest daughters Sweet 16 with an overnight in the city. From the moment we walked in I knew it was a great choice! Food was excellent! And my Cantese cocktail amazing!! Our waiter Devlin was the best!!! We will be back
I’ve been to Tao many times the food is always excellent, the atmosphere is unique, always worth the trip to the city, the cocktails are also very good all around perfect, must try.
Food used to be so good. Now it’s stale and loaded with salt.
We'd had several great meals, and were looking for a 'change of pace'. We ended up going early on a Saturday (had theater for the evening).
We ended up choosing the pre fixe lunch menu, which was a great choice. More than enough to share for the two of us. Also chose the vegetable dumplings and they were great.
Waiter was very helpful and friendly. Had several (!) cocktails and all were unique and very very good.
When we left (around 5.30), it was a MUCH different atmosphere and was really hopping with the pre-theater crowd. So go at 4, much more relaxing and just have another round of drinks!
Awesome service and great environment
Amazing dinner for our anniversary! They gave us the corner table on the second floor overlooking everything. One of the best meals of my life!
Food sucked and I got sick from it
Beautiful place, good was okay for the worth. Staff was fantastic.
Tao never disappoints. Creative cocktails and delicious food. An enjoyable evening with friends in a lively setting. Birthday fun.
Very cool setting and decor. Edamame fresh. All else very average.
We enjoyed our experience in Tao. The food was great. If you have a shellfish allergy, tell your server bc some foods (like orange chicken) need to be cooked special. Our server was wonderful in telling me what I could or could not get. Possibly saved my life.
Have been here multiple times. For the food, its overpriced, but you are in part paying for the experience. Usually top loud but it was early Saturday night and not so much making the ambience much more pleasant. Don't get me wrong, food is very good but just overpriced. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
Totally enjoyable experience as usual. It’s my go to place for a celebration, food is so good and the room is unique in design so reminiscent of the upscale restaurants in Bangkok.
The music was blaring and it made for an unpleasant dining experience. Also, the food portions were quite small - not exactly a good value proposition.
Tao never fails to disappoint. Love their veggie fried rice, udon noodles , tuna sushi special roll, and their fortune cookie ! Tried the pad thai noodles this time but wasn’t a big fan. Everything else was delicious as always. Beautiful scenery, great service, and great location is always a plus. Will definitely be back soon.
Tao is a beautiful hot spot. The big buddhas are so cool. The ambiance is really nice. The food we ordered was just ok, in my opinion. For the price I wasn't overly impressed. Our server was very nice and attentive. It was nice to go at least once to say I've been.
Always an amazing and memorable experience at Tao
This was my 2nd visit and it won’t be my last.
We celebrated my wife’s 65th birthday.
The ambience is truly unique, the food and service are excellent!
Made an impromptu visit to Tao and we were glad we did. It was just after the lunch crowd left, so it wasn't too busy. Told the waiter we had time constraints and only had one hour to eat. The waiter was superb, he brought everything out quickly, took my 7 year old nephew into consideration with everything he brought out, making sure that anything that is normally spicy, was not made spicy and the spicy stuff was brought out on the side for us to add. Food and service were wonderful, best waiter I ever had.
Always solid. Not as good as the downtown location though. Food was good and service was excellent.
Very poor service. They haven’t accept my card because their system was out of service. I had to pay by cash.
Love it here. Ambiance great - always an excellent choice!
Been to Tao Chicago, Vegas, and Downtown NYC for reference points. The Uptown location does not meet the same service level. Our server was awesome; but the front staff was rude, made us wait long after the reservation time, while seating other parties of the same size that came in after us, and had a major miscommunication where one hostess sat us at the wrong table after another one took our pager. Mistakes happen, but the attitude was pretty snotty and we were made to feel we were to blame for the mix-up. It was very disappointing given the great service Adam and his team provide in Chicago.
Good sea food, try the seabass that was very tasty, well cooked and marinated. Very good service although crowded.
Excellent food, service and ambience. Room lighting on dark side. Loud with background music and lively diners
Sunday at 4 is a good time
Amazing experience as usual!
For the price we paid, I thought it was just ok. Our overanxious server rushed us through our meal even though the place was half empty. We definitely felt like they wanted us in and out.
The food was nice but the servings tiny and very expensive. I had the salmon with spinach and udon noodles. The noodles were way overcooked and mushy- but the salmon was flavorful and cooked well. My guests had handrolls and they were about $16 each for simple handrolls- a little obnoxious in my opinion.
I decide to take my wife for her birthday. She was impress by the ambiance and amazing food!
Many people & the place was very energetic. Everyone was very sweet and we booked a reservation and we got exactly at the time we reserved. Food was amazing & and I am definitely coming back!!
I always look forward to dine there...and have one [or 2] of their Red Dragon cocktails. Nice menu, cool decor and great service. Jonas one of the bartenders upstairs is fabulous; Sean, [one of the managers] does a great job! Can't wait to go back there next trip to NY.
Lovely dinner with fantastic service. The noise level can get a bit loud, but we have an excellent table off to the side, which reduced our noise level. The crowd definitely changed later in the evening to be more of a bar/night club atmosphere, but our earlier seating was perfect for a connection and fun dinner with friends.
Dinner before theater....early. Was full when we left at 6:30 pm
I was in town for business and this restaurant was within walking distance of my hotel. I reserved a table on open table and was pleasantly surprised that when I arrived, I was taken immediately back to my table. I was a little worried as I had read some of the comments on the wait times. I ordered the salmon and it was cooked perfectly and very good. The portion was a little small for the price paid, but I would still go back and order it again. My service was impeccable - the only complaint I really have is that I dined alone, and I felt rushed during my dinner. For example: if I put my fork down for a minute to take a drink or to just wait a few seconds between bites, my server was there ready to take my plate away. I was brought the check even before I finished my meal. That was a nice gesture, but what if I wanted to order another drink or a dessert? The tables are so close together that you feel you are sitting on your dining neighbors lap. Very little space to move. I loved the ambience and the huge Buddha in the dining area. All in all, I had a very nice meal, a wonderful time and I would definitely return for dinner again when in the area.
