No point in making a reservation will still have to wait 30mins for your table
Everything was good except for having to wait 45 minutes after our reservation to get seated.
Mediocre all around.
Turned out to be the tourist destination, consequently both the service and the food is what should be expected in such places.
Food runner spilled the sauce from the plate on my jacket, accidents happen, but I’m at least the second person writing this, so either get the deeper plates or have a dry cleaner on stand by.
Had much better experience at Tao Downtown.
We took the lunch special.
First and main were excellent.
Dessert Banana was good, the sorbet eas so so.
Overall, very goof.
Went for lunch to celebrate birthday for afriend. Service was excellent. Had the appetizer, entree and dessert prefixe. Food portions and taste is very good. Really love their desserts!
Everything was top and was to our liking.
A must! Not a bad meal to be had.
Good experience and nice services
The worst service we encountered during our time in New York
Food was good and table service as well, but credit card was compromised after using at restaurant which ruined the evening
Very unique atmosphere. Had a great dinner. Just a little loud.
Great night at Tao! The food was delicious and an excellent service!
Tao was so delicious! We had a good variety of appetizers and mains and everything was great. The service was great, the only down side was that the tables were pretty close together so it was a bit hard to hear and kind of tight seating in the booth area.
this place is so gorgeous and the food is really good!
I had a terrible experience, I had 4 reservations on a Sunday there were only 4 other tables that were seated. No one came over to my table for over 20 mins, so we decided to leave. Don't think I'll come back again. The place was empty and they couldn't help us ?!
Great music, food, etc. Perfect place for a date!
This is one my favorite restaurants in NYC! Loved the food and atmosphere as always but service was not friendly nor attentive. Hoping for a much better service experience next time
The food was amazing! It just sucked we had to wait over an hour to be seated even though we made a reservation. I don’t understand why it took so long and then they seated a party the same size as ours that had a reservation after us before they sat us. Kind of a mess with that. But the food was good. Fun dinner.
Leuk restaurant, lekker eten, goeie sfeer, een toppertje!
Zoals in alle restaurants wel frisjes, ik denk dat de airco overal hard staat maar dat kon het genieten niet drukken
Beautiful restaurant great service amazing food! Our waiter was very helpful with explaining the menu!
Very noisy and hard to hear each other. Food was mediocre. Service was good.
Best Pad Thai ever. The avocado tempura is a must try as well. The atmosphere is unique and the service was fabulous. Will be back.
Great! Fantástico Food.
Best restaurant experience in a long time, definitely the greatest food among other restaurants I visited the week I was in NYC. If you travel from abroad - this one is a must! Do NOT miss TAO out if you’re into Asian cuisine. I had the miso glazed sea bass and it was totally amazing. Recommend!
I was really disappointed with the service and food. I should’ve gone to Canal Street instead. I came for some authentic Asian cuisine and it tasted more like coming out of a box. The service was terrible. Our waiter was too busy with another table and abandoned us completely. We had come here for our Anniversary. The only thing that was good was a sushi that we ordered; however, it was kinda expensive. Overall I will not recommend it.
It was ok. It was ok. It was ok.
Horrible , disappointed
First long trip to NYC to visit my best friend who moved from the Hamptons and I honestly loved Tao. I requested to be sat upstairs and was obliged with the perfect table. I had the orange chicken which was cooked to perfection. The vibe is classy and sexy with the perfect music and dim lighting to tie everything in. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the restaurant!!
The miso glazed sea bass was incredible! So tasty and it melted in your mouth. The pork ribs were fabulous and the Peking duck pancakes were seriously good! My parents enjoyed the dinner too. It’s a special place with great service. Each time I come to NYC, I love bringing friends there. I am never disappointed.
upon walking into Tao you are immediately impressed by the overall ambience and beauty of the restaurant. We were seated very quickly and the restaurant was packed. The service was spectacular and we were pleasantly suprised when the cocktails & appetizers we ordered arrived so quickly. This was very consistent throughout our dinner (basically zero wait for our drinks which is quite impressive with such a busy place). The dim sum plates and small plates were outstanding. We ordered potstickers and spicy tuna tartare. We even ordered a 2nd spicy tuna is was so impressive. We chose the special of the night which was a snapper dish. Very tasty! The staff was very kind and did jobs they were not intended to do as well (aka a food runner cleared our table, etc). Great customer experience.
Food was just okay, extremely overpriced. You can get better food for half the price in any Thai fusion place in Hell’s kitchen.
Restaurant was a good experience. Very pretty property with top class service and ambiance. Just not alot of value in the food. Good presentation but no knock your socks off.
Food was terrible. Wine was worse. Atmosphere was very Las Vegas-ish. There are far better options around.
Interesting and varied menu, terrific prix fixe, attentive service. Couldn't be happier.
It was a really nice ambiance wheather it’s for a date or a girls night it was a really cool place
Great vibe ambiance food was great one dish was not good
The server was absolutely lovely and took her time explaining all questions we had. The food was outstanding and we were so happy to have come. The special was great, the sea bass was super flaky and yummy. A must try is the fortune cookie. Awesome experience
Beautiful restaurant with a great bar area. Food is fantastic, but make sure you know exactly what you have ordered. The Orange chicken was really nice but there was too much orange zest/flavoring and the SeaBass was really good, but the portion was very thick and as a result wasn’t quite as fully cooked as we would like. Overall a really nice, lovely atmosphere and the starters were very good.
I have been to TAO many times. And the experience is always enjoyable. But my credit card chip was removed thIs time. I didn’t notice it until the next day. No charges were made but still unnerving.
Otherwise food was very good
