Birthday for my son. Great meal
ordered lobster california roll , ate the first roll and found shrimp tail crust
showed it to the server and the response is sorry
no apologies from manager
Food was great! Staff very friendly and professional. Food was served quick however after the food it was hard to find our waiter.
This is our fourth time attending the restaurant. The food, drinks and music is perfect. I love the overall concept of the restaurant. We will be coming back in September for my brothers Bday.
Exceptional Food and ambiance and top it the service. Thank you for great time.
The place is nice, the food is excellent and the attention is very good!!!!!
I love the atmosphere at TAO uptown !! The Giant Buddah in the center ,design aesthetic and music vibes sets the tone!!! The food is delicious!!! I had the dessert platter for the first time!! Simply amazing!!
I had a great time. The food, music was great. The cocktails were ok
Tao is always a must when we’re in NY. Some favorites are the Ruby Red Dragon cocktail, Tao Temple Salad and the Pad Thai. Had the sea bass last night and it was outstanding. The fish was tender and flavored perfectly, not too heavily spiced or sauced. Finished the evening with the massive fortune cookie. The chocolate and vanilla mousses are light and not too sweet. It is served with fresh chopped fruit. Perfection!
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Very good experience!! Food was delicious, nice ambiance and atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.
Tao uptown has a very limited menu and dungeon like feel. It’s overpriced and the quality isn’t what it used to be.
Service was fast. Food was amazing. Music was everything. Lychee Martini is my favorite.
Menu changed, not so good. Our waitress was new and unexpiriemced. Made ir much harder to order
The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was perfect with a DJ and good music! Will definitely return!!
Lied about participating in Restaurant Week, despite requiring a deposit to place a reservation leaving poor waitstaff to tell customers
It was great experience, services was outstanding. Food was great, portions were bigger than expected which is great. Drinks could’ve been better. Paying premium for cocktails, they need to be on par. Probably would’ve gone more with sake and wine than cocktails.
Overall, our experience at TAO Downtown was very good in regard to menu variety, food quality, and service. However, the music being played was much too loud, which necessitated raising our voice level to be heard in conversation. Had this not been the case, a five-star rating would be a no-brainer. But, subtract one star for the loud music!
Had a great experience the food was very delicious as recommended by our wait staff Mr John who was very courteous and polite and offered us great service
Food was incredible, the place is huge and beautiful! Service attentive but not aggressive. 10/10
Our waiter was pleasant and professional as were the others supporting the brand. And the woman aiding patrons using the woman’s bathroom was pleasant.
Good food; if you like your decent Chinese food with a scene, this is the place. But $88 for Peking Duck? Seemed a bit excessive. And...no iced tea available "we're out", said the waitress.
Food was good and definitely enjoyed the ambiance. Very nice spot for a dinner date or family outing.
I MUST ADMIT - I WAS VERY ANNOYED BUT CLAIRE THE MANAGER WAS GRACIOUS AND WONDERFUL - I WILL COME BACK BECAUSE OF HER
PLEASE GIVE CLAIRE A RAISE
Great place to get dinner. I went early like 5pm and it was great. The food was tasty and the service was great. Guys can wear jeans, a collar shirt and sneakers. No problem getting in. Overall would recommend
Don’t get fooled by NYC restaurant week!! We were here on a Friday to enjoy this dinning experience, however Once we arrived they told us they didn’t have this type of menu. I was fooled by Tao Uptown
I went to Tao with my wife ,niece and my brother and his wife to have dinner. I didn't know this restaurant just from outside but we were impressed by the set up inside plus the food is AMAZING. we were very pleased about everything in TAO.
Highly recommend 👌
James was the Best Server hands down! The Drinks were so Good The Red Dragon is a must! The food was prepared and taste amazing. Beautiful ambiance, and a great restaurant to celebrate or go on a date.
Came here thinking we made reservations for Restaurant Week Menu, was very politely told that only the downtown TAO has that menu.
We stayed and saw a delicious plate be placed at the table next to ours. I asked John, our host, what it was; he said: "Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass with Wok Vegetables".
We order that. I then asked John what else he recommended he suggested the Triple Pork Fried Rice with Pork Belly, BBQ Roast Pork and Chinese Sausage to share.
We started with: Lobster and Shrimp Spring Roll with Shiitake Mushrooms and Spicy Pineapple Sauce and finished with Sorbet.
The meal was incredible! All the dishes were abundant and delicious. The atmosphere was exciting (although a little chilly, bring a shall.)
John made our meal delightful. He did not try to upsell us or looked down on us. We spent $40.00 more than what we would have paid with Restaurant Week's menu. Well worth the upgrade.
Dinner was delicious
Great way to celebrate a birthday
We like the place
Food is wayyyy to salty. Disappointed that instead of having customer with huge baby carriage go back to his table a different route than making my handicapped mother take over 6 minutes to get up so that he can pass to his table. WTF?!? I believe she was the manager who did that and my response is one month old babies should not be in this restaurant with such a huge carriage of you are going to interrupt your other customer as they are about to eat their salty af dinner. So upset never coming back and now this location ruined it for me as I used to love the LA and Vegas one.
Like the restaurant design, music and staff. Food was very good.
Will be back !!!!
We were completely mislead. Tao is listed on the nyc.go site as participants in restaurant week. Upon arrival we were told that they weren’t participating but there sister location was. We decided to stay for dinner but felt mislead. The food was ok but not anything to write home about. Orange chicken was on the dry side. Dim Sum was ok but certainly not better than the Brooklyn chop house. Ambiance and service was the overall draw. Your local takeout place is probably better
Loved it!!! The food was awesome, the ambiance was amazing and the service was top notch.
Dinner was great. They were very accommodating when we changed our reservation last minute. Food was amazing and the chefs sushi roll was delicious too! Banana bread pudding for dessert was also amazing! I definitely miss the squab lettuce wraps and the dessert donuts! Bring them back!
The food was delicious and our waiter was super chill. Will come again.
