Had an amazing time at this restaurant! The service is outstanding, and the food was also very good. If you’re looking for dessert, I highly recommend the fortune cookie! The portions for entrees are also very decent. The ambience at this restaurant is unmatched when it comes to the music, lighting, decor, and more. If you’re looking to go somewhere for any special occasion, this is a great place to be at!

My fiancé and I had a great time at Tao! Our server, Emma, was very informative and helped guide us through what sake to pick, what appetizers to get, and our entrees. The food was so flavorful and fresh tasting -especially the sushi!! The sushi was so good we ended up ordered a second roll! My fiancés orange chicken was super tasty, and my lo mein was great as well. Love the staff there. They were super attentive and the team work was awesome!! Food came out quickly, too. Would definitely recommend and come back!!

I was visiting nyc and one of my friends recommended this place. actually he recommended TAO downtown and should’ve listened to him instead of going to uptown instead. Booked the place and had very high expectation. Tbh food and drinks were okay - not the best but edible. SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!! We were taken upstairs and the server came over with two menus - drinks and food and literally left them on the table without saying anything. We waited for a good 20mins - no one came. Our server walked passed our table a few times and we tried to get his attention but no - he didn’t even bother to look at us. In the end I had to call over another server. After we placed our order we just waited for drinks. Our original server brought over drinks. Again without saying anything - gave the drinks to the wrong people and we had to rearrange. Later he never showed up to our table - other servers served the food. In the end we asked for the bill - of course it took another good 20-30mins to have the bill come. I also asked him to bring the machine over and he literally just put the machine in the middle of the table and left. With. An. Attitude. I thought he was just a grumpy person but then I saw him greeting other tables and being attentive to them as well, so I really don’t know what was with his attitudes towards us. We were a party of 3 and we ordered over $300 food and drinks and tipped 18% still (would’ve tipped very low but still the kitchen did a good job or would’ve tipped more if the service was okay) We wanted to have a good time but sadly no the evening was very much ruined because of the experience.

We where excited to go to Tao having flown all the way from Ireland this was to be a highlight for my wife’s 30th, left a little disappointed…our server was really nice and pleasant but I got the feeling they wanted the table flipped asap, which was compounded by the fact our cheque arrived mid way through our desert?….I mean we where sat at the table for no more than hour, had to finish our drinks downstairs as we didn’t feel comfortable, food was nice but for $300 we won’t be recommending or going back

Went for Mother’s Day, it was crowded more than usual but expected. My second time going but first for my family. They were really impressed! Food was delicious, our waiter was amazing, attentive and had a great sense of humor. Great ambiance, reasonably priced for an upscale experience. Will definitely go back again!

I had a reservation from weeks ago, when I got there on time they had me waiting for almost 40 minutes for my table. After we were seated no one came over to serve us. We had to ask for service (our waiter). A lady came over 15 min later with an attitude, she didn't even talk much. Her attitude changed later on but honestly we didn't enjoy my time much. Things were difficult from the very beginning. Food was delicious as always.

Great good. Tuna Tartare Crispy Rice is a must. Orange Chicken comes with Baby Bok Choi and is excellent. Filet mignon pepper steak also outstanding and comes with poets, mushrooms, and onions. Atmosphere is super hip. A great night out.

I’ve never had worse service in NYC or any city in the last several years, even in the height of the pandemic. I’m so disappointed. The waiter seemed to have many other priorities. None being good service. I felt like I should crawl out and leave quietly despite paying a high priced bill. He was literally awful.

Loved the ambience and vibe of the place but the food was average. Had to return the pad Thai because it was sweet and pretty tasteless. Can’t believe they went wrong with it. Cocktails were also just average.

We've been here several times over many years - many things are still quite good. The ambience and overall vibe were still great, however the food as pretty average at best, which is disappointing considering how it used to be great and given how it's quite expensive. We had a great night overall, but could have gotten better food at an average Thai place for 1/4 the price.
